The reason the Democratic party is "stronger" is a fairly recent phenomenon and due to 18-25 y.o. White kids and ALL the minorities. Well over half the Whites voted McCain. A majority of the majority didn't bet their man. Sad. To top that off, the vast majority of the White voters couldn't tell you anything about Obama's campaign platform other than "hope" and "change".
