@ErectopiaServer If you really think the laptop brand has anything to do with it, go look up "computer parts" on Google. The GPU, which was the problem, was made by ATI. ATI makes cards for many laptop and computer companies, so any other computer could have this problem.
@CompuTechMaster Don't forget warranties. Also, if the rest of the problems you listed on your blog went wrong as well--yeah, I'd call that brand issue. Plus, I encounter many laptops, and the ones with the most issues are 1. HP and 2. Toshiba. The part about ATI is invalid, as both ATI and NVidia only make the chipset, and then those are sent out to manufacturers to proprietize whatever they want.
@CompuTechMaster WRONG.....ati hasnt anything to do with these...the problem is from the motherboard because has the same heatpipe for the cou and the gpu and you have to replace te thermal paste and make some adjustments on the main board.....ati has no guilty that the mb producer created wrong the the heatevacuation plan...
P.S:ati makes cards for the most of the laptops and computers on the market..

Precision Division specializes in circuit-level laptop motherboard repair. Repairs are performed at a computer controlled dark infrared rework station and monitored by continuous ESD event detection. BGA glues are chemically removed prior to rework.
A thermal management solution is then implemented to help the system run cooler.

@ErectopiaServer I got it in 2008 I believe, so warranty was out of the question.

@CompuTechMaster Still though, bad quality on their part. I suggest Lenovo's. Great warranty support. (Not paid :P)

@radu21sp I replaced the thermal paste at least once a year, that wasn't a problem...

@AgentMrX7 Apparently it's got to do with the graphics card, I didn't bother finding out how to fix it.

@joenpierre24 Erm, the cause of failure is the GPU. Get your facts straight before bagging someone.
