The joke is on you. The fact that you wrote stress as a freudian slip to duress is hilarious. Signing under duress is a concept that I think applies to many young adults who make the god awful mistake of joining the military and not going to college or a university (especially with the abundance of scholarships available for all walks of life. Joining the military right out of high school is a form of self-induced slavery. Joining as an officer out of college is entirely different. Bad Uncle SAM

@ExiledHickory I have read that one of the greatest threats to the Israeli defense forces is the growing sentiment of disparity amongst the ranks. In other words the men and women serving are doubting (more and more apparently) that the 'cause' is bringing everyone equal, or near equal results in life. I criticize the US military's pursuit of target markets of kids that fit economic profiles considered more likely to join. Rich kids that are college bound tend not to serve. That's BIG inequality
How absolutely wrong it is to let these jarheads babysit your kids. This is a reflection that the parents had their children too soon, militarizing your child's development is a sign that you, as a parent, do not know better. This is such an embarrassment to the US in front of the rest of the western, civilized world. I cannot believe that my tax dollar pays for this bad idea.Volunteer army my ass, the people that join do so under duress. This is no way out for a child. It neglects what's needed
@filleducameaux lol sorry i can hardly breathe from laughing so hard at your comment. I was in young marines when i was younger. These kids are not forced to go into military service when they are older. Its not a recruiting tool.
And no, your wrong, people do not join the military under stress. Its all voluntary. And these kids benefit alot from this program. they learn something called discipline. something you obviously have no idea about.
@ExiledHickory Also Just from the Young Marines i am possibly being granted a full ride scholorship. For you to say this is "babysitting" is wrong it is fun, and full of great rewards!

First of all the Senior Young Marine is in charge makes the schedule for the day and so on, the Marines of staff member (which are not all Marines or former Marines) is whatching over the kids. So therefore a "jarhead" is not really always the one whatching the Young Marines.
