I've considered the vs 29 of the Gospel of Thomas as special; in the 1st part, about the flesh coming about because of the spirit, is the traditional Adam and Eve scenario where the supreme being has bestowed life ('a marvel'); but in the 2nd part, I see the flesh as having been created without a spirit, as a hybrid by other humanoid beings, but then, as a 'marvel of marvels', the spirit is bestowed upon this creation by the supreme being, even tho this creation is 'in poverty' (not deserving).

I hope all you people realize the canonical gospels are considered the most accurate and earliest by all top scholars in the world. They predate the scrolls of thomas gospel by a large enough margin to be considered altered variations of the original.

I’m with you. I have read Thomas gospel but found no controversy in it. It’s very much consistent with canonised bible. Read in context with modern science and its not as mysterious as it must have seemed to the early church. We can all be sons of God via Christ~ Luke 20:36, Gal 3:26, 1John 3:2, 1John3:1

@nick45945 Pretty much no physical copies of canonical texts exist from the first century either. Much of the earliest New Testament fragments date from the 2nd and 3rd centuries as well.
I think Judas betrayed Jesus for the same reason anybody betrays anyone, and that's to give even more meaning to love and loyalty.

Jesus is a metaphor beautifully embeded in religion for the son of GOD meaning we are him "THE ONE", the second coming is the christ in us not the person Jesus. The historical Jesus never has existed. Movies + Religion (not every religion) have biased our thoughts making us believe that we need salvation and have to go to church so we can learn about the gospels, when in reality we are the christ itself. I've considered the vs 29 of the Gospel of Thomas as special; in the 1st part, about the flesh coming about because of the spirit, is the traditional Adam and Eve scenario where the supreme being has bestowed life ('a marvel'); but in the 2nd part, I see the flesh as having been created without a spirit, as a hybrid by other humanoid beings, but then, as a 'marvel of marvels', the spirit is bestowed upon this creation by the supreme being, even tho this creation is 'in poverty' (not deserving).

Correct. But If you believe in Christ Jesus, who never called God, GOD, but called God, The Father or Father, you will see the influence of God in Jesus.

we are sons of god, eaven the original bible tells us that, but we cant be gods! god creates, and jesus dont have a biological father. there's always a little bit our parents in us, so we can be sons of god, but not god. jesus is not a god, but there is a little god in him. psalms 82 looks to me that it tells about the bad spirits, not humans. check out psalms 82:7

WOW ! Everybody is fired up in finding a lost Gospel of Thomas. It was know of back in 200 B.C. and was thrown in the trash for when you fined out who wrote it. You too will throw it in the trash can ! It is Gnoctic writers and not Thomas who wrote it ! @delagrazia The book i speak of is vehemently against most religious ideals and speaks of a 'Creation' rather than a 'God'. Many of the quotes in the 'Talmud Jmmanuel' are very similar to those of the Bible, only fundamentally very different. This seems contradictory i know, but the book is really very interesting and enligtening. Also, i think the meaning of Jmmanuel is 'one with god-like knowledge'. How far down the rabbit hole do u want to go? if you are interested then hit me back

But this is the old Jew prophecy .Jesus means something similar ,still i dont understand WHY some ppl would name their children chris-t and while i never met someone called Jesus the most popular name till nowadays is Immanuel(as u know the first male child used to be named with his parental grandfathers name. @delagrazia With the book i speak of, i think 'Talmud' is to be meant in the literal sense "to learn" and Jmmanuel is simply the teacher. Your question regarding present day names is one i cant answer. Anyways, this book is so fundamentall\y different than anything a preacher would preach about, so if u want a copy, shoot me your email address and i'll send it to u. You can type 'Talmud Jmmanuel' in wikipedia to get an idea of its origin, which might cause u to turn away, but hopefully not!!!

No,,, You need know church to be a follower or to worship the one and only God. The bible is full of contriditions. This is one of the reasons that are over 3600 Christain denominations. Only a one on one relationship with God will get you to heaven. No need for a brick and mortar building with a preacher. Sure go and listen,,, but only during bible study and then only to assist you with your own pursuit of life after death.

My understanding is that Jesus was showing us the way to the Truth that would set us free, just as he had discovered this truth, it was also readily available to each and everyone of us.

Rather than worrying about this, it would be best to follow the teachings of Jesus such as Jesus' admonition to Love your enemies. Fact is, you have to discover what Jesus was talking about - are you willing to spend 40 days in the desert to find out. If you do take this up, you will find that the only thing that disturbs your peace is your own mind, your own thoughts, your own anxiety.

Yes the teachings of Jesus were compiled in many scrolls which later were eliminated or through the years by the command of Constantine during the first century, then in 183 the New testament was changed again where only 4 gospels were left and they were never able to demonstrate that those gospel really belonged to the apostoles that are in the NT.
Then in the 5th century St. Jerome gave the final thrust by adding the Book of Jude and by making up hell.

O.K. if he did in fact say such a thing, in the middle of the temple no less and with lots of witnesses, why couldn't they find anyone to accuse Jesus at his trial? After he broke Jewish Law in broad daylight, and still not one? He was found blameless?

In addition, the story of the woman who was brought before jesus for adultery and jesus said, "let he who hasn't sinned throw the first stone." The story DOES NOT EXIST! BOTH of the those stories are a FABRICATION of the church as are other writings! Don't believe me though, YOU do the research an find out for yourself! TIME TO WAKE UP!!

I’m with you. I have read Thomas gospel but found no controversy in it. It’s very much consistent with canonised bible. Read in context with modern science and its not as mysterious as it must have seemed to the early church. We can all be sons of God via Christ~ Luke 20:36, Gal 3:26, 1John 3:2, 1John3:1

the old manuscripts exist in librariesand from those/texts and fragments/they reconstructed almost the entire bible.there is a video on u tube about this.there is almost nothing missing,nor what is missing is an essential point,an entire story in other words no fabrication.all those claiming that parts of the bible are fabricated should also tell us WHY would they fabricate something ,and WHAT would that be,since the same concepts are re repeated all over the 500pages of the New testament

/this means they DID have a Johns Gospel with that part in it. and that from the 2nd century is alluded to by greek writers.

truly understand where you are coming from. that christ is the son of God, as the bible says, but think of it like this anyone can be like jesus, because in other scripture jesus said he is not perfect ONLY GOD IS, so if Christ believed, only GOD is perfect than you have to rethink that statement

if christ wasnt perfect then gods holy plan doesnt work. dont be foolish! the price for the salvation of people was a pure sacrifice. so when god found that no human was perfect he sent himself ( son ) down to be sacrificed. in the first salvation (passover) the price was a lamb with bones unbroken (pure) now someone with a soul unbroken by sin was needed, a perfect being, the one and only holy CHRIST.

PLEASE READ YOUR SCRIPTURES BECAUSE I HAVE A HEADACHE RIGHT NOW. with all due respect you should know this already. i am not like my aunts or others in my family that can quote scripture so please forgive me but i do know what i READ. i understand things fully. jesus never said he was perfect

@skycapslo123 jesus is not perfect, becouse he was/is in the form of human. the nature of humans are sinners, and jesus didnt do any sin, thats why he is the son of god. we are too sons of gods, but we are not gods, becouse we dont have a virgin born, and jesus is not god, but in him there's a little god in him. i would say that soldier9718 and skycapslo123 are both somehow right.

@soldier9718 It is Mt 19:17, you are trying to quote. If you look close Jesus is asking who is good, than says only one, He is not saying that that one is not him. For he and the father are one. Don't beleive? read John 10:11 here you have Jesus say that he is the good shepherd. If Jesus is not perfect than he could not pay for our sins on the cross. If he wasent perfect than we would not need him because we could pay our own price and be saved. because like him we would all be sinners.

i believe that scripture is saying that we are all gods to ourselves, but we shall die like men. in other words, all humans are false gods, and there is only one everlasting God in heaven.

well i believe the dying part. that men will die but God doesn't but. i do not believe we are false gods because we come frome GOD. we are his children, as the bible says, so if we are his children and he is the head , God..we all become gods. god is in us. if God is in us. theres no way we are false!
