They should have made a break away cord for the ps2. I pulled my off the self and if fell like 4 feet onto the tile floor; the door wouldn't work right. We was able fo fix it later, but still.
xbox arnt rare give it some years maybe yeah it will problly be rare when they come out with at least 2 or 3 more modles after the xbox 360 then maybe it would be worth something as it sits right now 50 bucks

my cousin was a programmer for microsoft around when xbox first came out he said they actually were losing loads of money on the system because it wasnt selling good enough. i dont know if it ever balanced out i remember he could get me any title for 10$ brand new that was made by xbox but the systems he couldnt get a discount because they were losing so much money on them. but yah if u worked for microsoft u could get anything there for 10$ i got windows xp brand new at that time for 10

Halo was THE console FPS as it came out, there was nothing better than it, the graphics were extremely awesome and the perfect implementation of Vehicles was way ahead of its time!
They should not have stopped producing the system so early, as it held up to current systems for a long time in quality of games, and even graphics. Just as PS2 is still pumping out games, XBOX could have continued to do so. I recently bought another one myself, and I am playing it more than my current gen consoles. Looking for an HD cable now to play those games in a higher definition. I think the system is better than PS2, personally.
the rarest xbox i know of is the panzer dragoon orta x-box. I'm 99% sure there was only one ever made. There was a contest in xbox magazine, and the winner of the contest won the panzer dragoon orta x-box.
Actually KOTOR 1 was not exclusive to the XBOX. It was released for Microsoft Windows on November 19, 2003, and on September 7, 2004 for Mac OS X. Another cool feature is that some of the PC games released in the XBOX age that had XBOX counterparts are playable on the XBOX, but not vice versa..that I know of. Like Guitar Hero 3. The PC version guitar is even compatible as an XBOX controller unit.
I have one but almost none of my original games work anymore :( if I do decide to collect one, I'll probably keep it to exclusive titles since I'll probably get a lot of games on ps2 or gamecube

As soon as I saw this video I looked on ebay for a Mountain Dew Xbox and I got one for only $90 including shipping. That's not bad for such a rare model. If anyone wants to get a Mountain Dew Xbox of your own, look on ebay cause there's a few on the cheap as of this writing.

true xbox bled MS like a pig but it was still one of the greatest gaming systems of all time and it established MS as leading player in market to help make X360 the best selling console for the past 13 months, and the best selling software for 6 years

There's a reason why MS drop support for the Xbox, it was bleeding out money like crazy. they weren't making any money on the counsel and the only first party game that was selling was Halo. Name 5 hit first party games on the xbox, halo, halo 2, Kotor... nope wait thats lucas arts. except for halo 2 nights mine and everyone's i know just collected dust. the only ppl i know that had just an xbox was a races family down the street that didnt want no "races term for asians" thing in their house.

xbox is future of gaming, Microsoft is the best thing in gaming since Sony first entered the market. All current gaming trends were either started or perfected on Xbox.

breakaway cord is nice idea i guess. i hate them though because you always seem to see controllers for sale without them since people lose them apparently some how. the dreamcast didn't run off windows ce i don't think. it was used to make a few games and the windows ce was actually on the game disc itself. most dreamcast games were made with the katana os because it was easier to use i think. see this is why i don't buy into this dlc stuff. they can stop it when a new system comes out.
@james42519 the harddrive i also don't think was the best design on this. you can't use it if the harddrive messes up and they locked it to the system so you can't just get another and put it in.
the into made me think of this one time I left my DSI in the fridge while playing music. apparently it scared my mother and made my brother think I was right behind him.

@pladampa I agree, I bought the 360 when it came out and it was a good system until the PS3 came out IMO. Gears is Okay, Halo 3 was the biggest disappointment ever IMO though Halo Reach wasnt all that much better but was still good, not a fan of Fable 2 and 3, and I suppose Forza is good but I prefer GT5. And if you look at what MS has coming out its looking pretty crap, other than the Halo CE remake,best Halo in the series, and Gears 3. I dont care for kinect at all just give us real games!
@fossilfern I love the first Xbox as well, its actually my favoite system. Its rare to find someone with the first Xbox as there favorite system but its my favorite. The Xbox 360 feels like someone threw it together overnight. My first Xbox from 2004 still works like brand new and my 360 from 2010 is starting to show signs of age its barely a year old! Microsoft really fucked up. Hopefully there next gen will be better quality. Although i hear the slim 360 is good build quality
@XxBaTtLeToThEdEaThxX , You're not alone. It's my fave system as well :) Seems like I've spent a ton of time on games like Ninja Gaiden Black and Panzer Dragoon Orta.
The system itself is built like a tank and meant to last. Apart from I think one variant or model of the disc drive, very reliable system. I'm also a fan of that big ass Duke controller. I don't have large hands at all but for some reason it just feels very comfortable to me.
@Bloufo Awesome! Im a big fan of the Duke controller as well, i dont currently have one, but my friend has one and i love it. I think it was the first model disc drive that had problems, but other than that it is a very reliable system. It was actually when they stopped supporting Xbox live for it, when i decided to buy a Xbox 360, me and my friends would still play Halo 2. Its really to bad they dropped support for it.

I think Halo sucks.

Bottom line is, if u dont like Xbox, you dont like good video games, probably follow fanboys on the internet and gaming media because you're not intelligent enough to think for yourself

sweet system wish i could find that I got the greet Halo 2 XBOX looks great but I never saw the mountain edition . I love that soda. They had the red energy or somthing like that with the gears of war on it . they need to bring that back.

Back when they were creating the XBox, it was labeled as Project X. Total Science fiction stuff there!!
There was something in one of the magazines that had a chart showing what people were looking forward to whether it was PS2 , Dreamcast, or Project X. They added "You probably haven't heard of Projet X and probably never will." LOL.

breakaway cord is nice idea i guess. i hate them though because you always seem to see controllers for sale without them since people lose them apparently some how. the dreamcast didn't run off windows ce i don't think. it was used to make a few games and the windows ce was actually on the game disc itself. most dreamcast games were made with the katana os because it was easier to use i think. see this is why i don't buy into this dlc stuff. they can stop it when a new system comes out.

@james42519 the harddrive i also don't think was the best design on this. you can't use it if the harddrive messes up and they locked it to the system so you can't just get another and put it in.

halo in the fps world at the time was simplified, tripe. the quake series and unreal 99 set the gold standard for fps gaming in those years.

@fossilfern I agree man I was very dissapointed in Xbox, (along with alot of other people) I really hope they lose alot of sales with their next gen system. Hate to be like that but they deserve it for dissapointing so many people!

@pladampa I agree, I bought the 360 when it came out and it was a good system until the PS3 came out IMO. Gears is Okay, Halo 3 was the biggest disappointment ever IMO though Halo Reach wasnt all that much better but was still good, not a fan of Fable 2 and 3, and I suppose Forza is good but I prefer GT5. And if you look at what MS has coming out its looking pretty crap, other than the Halo CE remake,best Halo in the series, and Gears 3. I dont care for kinect at all just give us real games!

@fossilfern I love the first Xbox as well, its actually my favoite system. Its rare to find someone with the first Xbox as there favorite system but its my favorite. The Xbox 360 feels like someone threw it together overnight. My first Xbox from 2004 still works like brand new and my 360 from 2010 is starting to show signs of age its barely a year old! Microsoft really fucked up. Hopefully there next gen will be better quality. Although i hear the slim 360 is good build quality

@XxBaTtLeToThEdEaThxX , You're not alone. It's my fave system as well :) Seems like I've spent a ton of time on games like Ninja Gaiden Black and Panzer Dragoon Orta.
The system itself is built like a tank and meant to last. Apart from I think one variant or model of the disc drive, very reliable system. I'm also a fan of that big ass Duke controller. I don't have large hands at all but for some reason it just feels very comfortable to me.

@Bloufo Awesome! Im a big fan of the Duke controller as well, i dont currently have one, but my friend has one and i love it. I think it was the first model disc drive that had problems, but other than that it is a very reliable system. It was actually when they stopped supporting Xbox live for it, when i decided to buy a Xbox 360, me and my friends would still play Halo 2. Its really to bad they dropped support for it.
