He received an Article 15 (Non Judicial Punishment) from a General Officer and was kicked out of Iraq by his command before finishing his tour.

He wasn't kicked out of Iraq. He was fined $5,000 and offered an early retirement in lieu of a court martial.

West was charged for "Aggravated Assault" for his handling of an Iraqi detainee who was being interrogated (firing his pistol AWAY from the interrogate and scaring him into giving up two other Saddam loyalist thugs). This is the only condemning act of an otherwise prestigious military career.

if you know the details of col. west's case -you will see him as a hero- he saved his men and others from the islamist killers. I don't care if his interrogation technique was aggressive.
