I have a 95 RUNNER and I just spent 800$ fixing a leak, new left camshaft, and now only leaks from the right side, the mechanic told me that he has to open that side of the engine to see whats up in,there, but I bought a can of engine cleaner and cleaned the whole thing, and today I checked everything again and theres oil everywhere again, the gaskets dont seem to leak so I checked my powersteering fluid and its almost dry in there and when I bought it it was full, and I know I need to change it
its main problem is the 2nd generation's v6. the 3.0L has a really bad reputation for breaking. But everything before and after that was the best on the market.
That one cut off hose is a condensation drain for the AC I think, I saw that on mine too and my mechanic told me that was what it was for. Did you get a rebuild kit or anything, I need to get mine back up and running again as well.
The oil at the bottom of your tranny is most likely coming from the rear main seal if your really annoyed by it get it repaired or if you can live with it just check and make sure your oil is topped up from time to time, all that other oil is probably coming from your power steering pump the seals inside them tend to crap out trust me i would know mine is leaking like a mofo so just be sure to keep it topped up as well unless you want to buy a new one or rebuild it.
Should've kept a good maintenance on it! haha i currently bought a 94 4runner and spent 700 bucks to fix it all up. Im the happiest guy on Earth now :D
oh also that one hose that comes from top with out the angle on it is a vacume ...plug it in to the one near the barrol with orange on it...the barrol is a one way line the one that fell isn't it just goes next to it...
I know what the oil leak is . . . In 4Runners the silicon on the engine that prevents leaks tend to dissovle why i don't know my Toyota Mechanic said that the issue was that. There for that was fixed and no more oil leaks of any sort for the engine oil pan. I would degrease the whole engine and bottom of it. Once that is done check your fluids. now These 4 Runners are really girly and delicate. Be careful connecting cables and hoses. The last hose you were talking about does connect there.
yep, i think i know wuts the problem. Looks like your pretty much fucked. Yep, youtube aint the best place to get free mechanic lessons, you might consider taking your car to a licensed mechanic near you, it beats waiting for good replys on youtube
Not sure on the leaking hose, but just replace it if its leaking. The oil leak is the rear main seal. In most cases (not sure about Runners) it requires removing the whole transmission to get to the seal. So if you don't know what your doing which it sounds like you don't be prepared to shell out some cash for labor. The hose thats not connected to anything looks like it may be a transmission vent hose, not sure i can't see where it goes. If it goes to the top of the trans then thats what it is.

i believe that hose hanging connects to the evap canister and its suppost to be there. the oil could be from your valve covers.

Yep, looks like your rear main seal is leaking. That will cause oil to drip down and come out between the engine and bellhousing like you saw.
Connect that hose to the metal hose and see what happens. Can you follow the hoses and find out where they go?
spend some time and clean off the bottom of your engine with de-greaser. This will allow you to see where all your leaks are comming from
