Who is the guy near the end comparing The Stunning to Boyzone??? What a knob end he is! Louis Walsh, Boyzone and Westlife have destroyed Irish music, at least for the last 15 years. To think where we were once known for Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher and U2, sad sad sad.
YEAHHH!!! It's been a while since i heard this song playing somewhere being out. But that song is just making me wanna go MAAAADDD on the pubfloor/dancefloor/ground and makes me rock my socks offffff!!!!!!!!!
I once worked as security for these cretins.. They behaved like they were they Beatles.. A bog man version... Awful rubbish... Dublin always hated them and rightly so....
Many great memories! So glad to have to discovered them on my many travels through Ireland in the 90's. ~ A long-time fan from San Diego, California :-)
The trouble I got in at these concerts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Years on when your meant to have sense - I get kicked out of the Tripod for trying to get on the stage for Brewing !!!!!!!!!!! Will I ever learn
The Stunning rule. Bunch of Dublin-centric media knobends. No wonder abject mediocrity flourished in the 90's in Ireland. The Devlin's? The Frames? Paddy Casey? David Kitt? et al ... don't make me laugh. And Bishop is some eejit. The "Father Jack" actor is Sean McGinley, one of the best know Irish actors. Lazy commentary. The Stunning were a great band. Deserve to be up there with The Prayerboat, Saville, Autumata and many other criminally under appreciated makers of music.
Three great irish bands like the Stunning. Prayerboat made one of the best albums ever back in '96, got picked up in the US by Polydor, and but had already broken up. Check out Emmet Tinley solo. The others you can get online
To be fair The Stunning were always better known than the others - I only really remember Prayerboat, who were cracking at the time. For my money one of the most lamented bands from that era are A House - they took themselves terribly seriously, but their songs were always beautifully crafted.
But nothing will ever be more mediocre than Aslan.
the guy in the "camel" jumper is a foooool. quality band and a fabulous anthem. rarely is a song so ultimately brilliant. yer man talking about ripping out eyeballs is dead on. i DJ in ireland and this song makes buildings fall down. peeps outside of ireland are missing this one big time. i had never heard it before moving over here 10 years ago. sheer magic:)
Boy band !! Ugly ones up the back - would you ever feic off you muppet !!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant band and can all play and write music . And very important - I fancied Derek who is one of the ones up the back so feic off
Brewing up a storm fantastic . it is spoiled by all those rent a quote assholes throwing in their worthless opinions. let the song play and shut the fuck up. this is a prime example of everything that is wrong with RTE. all of these assholes should be made to listen to the sound of their own shit in an un padded cell with a strong dose of mescaline
A precursor to boyzone? Who is that poof

I can't belive they didn't get sued for plagiarism of Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear The Reaper!
padraic2001eire 2 years ago
I dont think Blue Oyster Cult would lost much sleep about a small band from Ireland especially when the chord progression is completely different.
You cant sue because the guitar riff is arpeggiated either - thats been done in a few other songs too!
Classic song and good memories of Galway in the 90's

yes but the difference is that the stunning could play "real instruments" you can't compare them to boyzone...

The stunning are well stunning I think this has to be the best live song ever it just engulfs you especially when its really loud.

Stolid drudge-rock that perfectly ecapsulates the dreary misery of early 90's ireland more like.
