  • you have an ugly srt4

  • sounds better with open dp

  • it is the stock turbo?

  • yes it is..........no plans to upgrade anytime soon, trying to get the most out of the stocker:)

  • upgrade dude, best power for the money

  • No need to upgrade....this is my daily driver and is plenty fast for what it is. If this wasn't my D.D. then yeah I would be upgrading, but I dont want to risk it right now. I have plenty of other SRT friends that I can watch that have "heavily" modded ones. This season one of them will be attempting 9 second passes.

  • Damn who do you know with a 9 second SRT? As for upgrading the turbo and trying to go all out it can be a pain in the ass worrying about reliability and if it'll run right for how much money you put in.

  • As for the 9 second run......put it this way....real tune performance is his friend, and if youve heard of "the red sled" srt4 thats basically what there shooting for.. Its still a secret project but is likely to be 800+hp and it'll have a fully built engine and drag transmission (auto). Videos will be posted as soon as I get the chance to film it. There are a few others in my state that will running 10's this year on stock transmissions as well.

  • Pretty cool

  • looks like that other neon almost ran over your camera lol

  • yep quick spool time with that mitsubishi 16g turbo lol. i have a 2g DSM and it was once the fwd frontrunner but i would really like to have an srt-4 as my next car

  • haha go figure i had a 2nd gen DSM and now i have a SRT-4. Its def a amzaing switch the dsm was a pretty nice car but damn id take my srt anyday over it

  • my old man has a 71 camaro 500hp. n/a and all we did was change the oil and run premium gas in it and never had any problems. Never fouled plugs or anything like that. But im not here to argue so anyways...nice car, im not much of a dodge guy but for some reason i REALLY like the SRT4 lol

  • Well thanks for the comments. Enjoy that camaro...sounds like a fun ride:)

    I'm still a v8 guy at heart.LOLOL

  • ya i think everyone is at heart...for a 4 cylinder tho...straight from the factory i dont think there is a 4 banger with more torque than the srt4 is there?

  • When the srt4 first came out I'd say no, but now there a plenty of little 4cyl turbo's/supercharged to pick from. To me though the srt4 neon is the most fun to drive...the torque band is immense due to the small turbo spooling so quickly. However chrysler screwed up with the caliber srt4...just not good compared to the neon based srt, kinda boring to drive.

Being that i've driven the sti, evo, r32, civic si, etc... I'd still choose my little red neon that could.LOL

  • ya i totally agree about the caliber...they are not nice looking, they seem like a knockoff of an srt4 neon and they are soooo crowded inside it's unbearable. Afar as evos and stis...sure they're "rally" cars but you pay A LOT more for an evo or Sti than an SRT4. The R32...i dont know much about cuz im not a VW guy AT ALL. And the new civic has NO torque and is not match for ur car. I'd say the closest one to ur car for the money is the cobalt ss s/c and for '08, GM finally caught on and its t/c

  • The cobalt is definately the closest competitor now, however since chrysler no longer makes my car I will go ahead and give the performance victory to the new turbo cobalt when comparing it to the caliber. I however still dont think the cobalt will be as "track ready" as the neon srt4 was. Also about the R32, that is a fantastic car...extremely forgiving when driven hard. However being that it costs as much as an evo or sti not worth it.

  • ya it really sucks that they discontined the neon SRT-4 but who knows...maybe it will be like the camaro/firebird and come back in a few years?..never know. Ya hopefully the new cobalt ss will be a good car. It's supposed to be based on the same motor as the s/c LSJ just with the different power adder obviously but it should be tight. Im a GM guy so i would probably go with the cobalt but for some reason man the neon SRT4 just sticks in my head...exhaust burble and factory BOV:P

  • Funny you should say your a GM guy, infact I'm a German car guy. I got rid of a BMW to buy my SRT4...I know, thats kinda odd right??LOL

To tell you the truth my old BMW still would out handle and go round a track better, but as for fun on the street...no chance against my SRT4:)

  • Its been fun talkin, but I got some other websites to check out....business stuff:)

Have a good night, and enjoy the camaro...if your ever allowed to drive it.

  • ya im definitely a GM guy...german cars seem really overpriced but i guess in most cases u get what u pay for..but like u said runnin around the streets it doesnt really matter what handles well on the track right it matters whats fun. Now im sort of in the market for a new car so im in the dilemma of getting a bigger, comfier car like a GTP (which i reaaaaaaaaaally like) or an SRT4 or anothe rlittle car :S...check out the camaro, a video is in my profile

  • nice car....but you coulda got a mazdaspeed3. It's the king of FWD.

  • Wow.........actually at the time I got my car the srt-4 was the king of fwd........and to be honest it still is the easiest to make faster. However those new mazda's are nice.

  • I still think it is, I can't think of any other FWD that has as much potential. Are you talking about the Mazdaspeed 3s? Those are cool but don't have the aftermarket of the NSRT

  • Yes, I was talking about the Mazdaspeed, but yeah, like you said......the aftermarket is still in favor of the SRT4(neon). Also the Mazda engine cannot take the power the SRT4 can handle, nor can any boosted 4 cyl GM has come out with recently. Something funny that happened recently is that GM has discontinued there performance division do to the economy.....no more ss or whatever cars..lol

  • Are you sure that the SS line is discontinued? I heard something about that but it can't be true, no way they aren't still coming out with the Camaro and all. I think it's just on hold or something.

  • The latest info I have is exactly that.....the ss line up is on hold. Its such recent news all the details have not come out yet. I believe the Camaro is still being released but anything not already in production(2011+) is being stopped. In other words I believe that with this bailout plan situation they have decided to shutdown performance until it fixed. GM seems to be the hardest hit so far.

  • Notice your from Kenosha I'm in Racine....Was wondering when this Srt-4 meeting was going to take place..and where? is this through a forum?....Oh i sorta assumed there was a meeting of sorta when you spoke of " people in your state Running 10's on stock tranny's " hit me back if you would. thanks

  • love it man! black on red looks sick as well lol this is making me hate winter even more i just wanna get mine out and cruise

  • About winter.....i live in Wisconsin so I havent been able to have any much fun since Thanksgiving.LOL

Thanks for the comment...and if your an SRT4 owner I would seriously think about the Maddog Short Shifter, nothing better.

  • The drive by sounds sweet. Also sounds good from inside. Looks nice and clean as well.

  • thanks, for the money I spent on it I am still amazed at what it can do:)

  • Looks good, glad to see you keep it clean.

  • Thanks, keeping it clean is easy...its keeping it running that's hard.LOL
