@finalfantasy4everock CAPTCHAs are used to prevent automated software from logging into accounts and spamming comments and inboxes of websites. The reason the images are distorted is because these spam programs can use optical character recognition (OCR) to basically read text from an image like a screen shot; but only if it's in the common font types. :)
Next thing is they'll ask you to send them a letter with your signature on it if you wan to keep using the site. This will happen only twice a day, so it will be no big deal to someone who has a quick and reliable mail delivery system like Japan has. Although when it gets to California, all bets are off... it could end up in someone's cigar.
This happened to me to on various websites. Oddly one of them was a chat forum.. others were password reset stuff... I think that everyone has had this problem every once in a while... Thank you~! Keep up the videos!! /(^.^)/
I saw on TED the guy who invented that program. Its a way to get type from books that cannot be read by computers 'translated'. It gets millions of words done a day and is helping really get many works completely computerized for reading on the web.
I hate those things with a passion. Sometimes I get really small ones and the middle all blurs together. It is so frustrating. That last one you had was so funny, I have had some come up and you can tell it must pull some words and letters from earlier comments. It does make you want to pull your hair our sometimes, especially the ones that delete all the info previously entered.
I also wonder why aren't captchas easier to read, sometimes I find it impossible to read what's in the image at all, not talking about YouTube's captacha, but still, they should develop new captchas system, or improve the current ones
man technology hates you lol
