WCW started to crumble when the match between Goldberg and DDP was cut off for the people who ordered the pay per view. They cut it out a few minutes before the end of the match because the PPV ran too long and everybody who ordered it asked for their money back, then Nash beat Goldberg for the title and ended his streak, people within the company said Nash ego got in the way. Then David Arquette won the title. Just watch the damn DVD it explains everything behind the scenes that u didn't know.

mAN i MISS these days of wrestling so much!!!! I stopped watching wrestling back in '94 cause to me it fell off big time .... then I remember watching this angle and falling back in love with wrestling this has to be my favorite time in wrestling history cause I was to young to really enjoy the hogan/giant angle ... they did ruin it with adding everybody  and by then wwf did have stars like stone cold and the rock coming around which was the only reason I watch wwf after goldberg angle fell thru

First of all they reunited in 2006, hijacked the production truck in either Late 2006, and in the same year they Made a mockery out of Vince and Shane McMahon. But DX sucked before 2006 and will ALWAYS suck. Shawn Michaels and Triple HHH sucks. NWO did things before DX did. NWO did it realistically, but DX did it childishly.

Nothing is totally original. The idea for the nWo itself Bischoff got from Japan, the idea of an inter promotional feud. However its the execution of the the nWo(from 1996 to december 1997 after the screwjob at Starrcade it was all downhill for me) that made it so great. Steve Austin Vs McMahon that type of thing has been done before also but it was the way it was done that made it amazing. Thanks for these great videos by the way.

Correct. In my honest Opinion the Austin v McMahon rivalry wasn't excuted well. NWO was done better, executed better, and sounded better then Austin v McMahon. Boss v Employee doesn't sound right. How can people say NWO "ran out the idea till it went dry" when the Austin and McMahon rivalry lasted for 9 years!

@tonshaad1230 Wow the Austin McMahon angle wasn't executed well? It was off the heels of Montreal, and arguably the greatest angle in pro wrestling history. Vince was hated at the time, and here's this absolutely bad ass anti-hero in Austin raising absolute hell on him every damn week. Wasn't executed well? I would venture to say the nWo in the long run wasn't executed well. They were the defining factor in WCW's demise. Austin vs. McMahon was timed perfectly. It raised the bar for the WWF.

Oh how I just LOVE how people say it was the nWo who ruined WCW when it was the AOL/Time Werner merger that ruined WCW. Austin vs. McMahon got boring when it hit 1999/2000, nWo at least did give us our moneys worth. @tonshaad1230 Austin McMahon was generating breakthrough ratings week in and week out for the WWF. Maybe for you it was getting stale in 99 and 2000, but you do realize those were the two years the WWF was absolutely taking over the wrestling empire right? They were generating new fans by the millions weekly, and held on to the one's who were glued to their TV's in anticipation of what havok Austin would reek on McMahon next. He was THE big time player at the time, and WCW was a sinking ship.

@tonshaad1230 It's not a bad thing to admit to that, it makes you no less of a fan. I'm sure you were a big WCW guy in it's heyday. I was too, I loved the old WCW, but you can't deny that by late 99 and 2000, they had fucked it all up. Russo came in with his bullshit and the power structure and politics in the locker room was unbearable for most of those guys. Nobody was getting a legitimate push and the drop in ratings every week proved that their fanbase was going to the WWF.

@tonshaad1230 WCW in 96 and 97 imo was better then the swank product the WWF was putting out. The Hart foundation, NOD, and raunchy DX stuff was a bit too over the top for me. Granted they toned it down a bit come 98 (not by much, but a bit), WCW still had the superior product imo in 96 and 97, and early stages of 98. By the time Austin beat HBK at WM14, tides had turned, the torch was passed, and the Austin era began. From that point on, WWF never looked back, and WCW never looked ahead.

@tonshaad1230 It's not to say WCW still wasn't putting out good stuff in 98 and early parts of 99. Goldberg was awesome, but once his streak died against Nash, it was never the same. And lets not even get into the finger poke of doom. Or my most hated, pushing Jeff Jarrett as a viable champion. You gotta be kidding me. I don't know what's worse, seeing Double J yap his mouth about "slap asses" all day with no positive results ratings wise, or David Arquette and Jay Leno with the belt.

Turn on the other channel and look at the well written stuff Titan sports was putting out in comparison to Turner broadcast. WCW lost it's way, they dragged the nWo storyline for too long, let the wrestlers get too much creative control (not a good thing) and didn't push the right guys. Its unfortunate, because watching stuff like this from 96 and 97 was pure genius. This was the WCW I once knew and loved

@george2648 pretty much 90% of anything good the wwf did they copied from wcw, yet some people say wcw sucked and wwf was better. dx was a copy of nwo, stone cold being the cool bad guy was a copy of scott hall or hogan (take your pick), the mr. mcmahon character was a copy of eric bischoff, the rock being the peoples champ was stolen from ddp. the list goes on and on yet some people will say wcw sucked and wwf was better when wcw was far superior until it merged and bischoff lost control in 98
