@yak45900 yes, priest was at their peak in these 3 albums, too bad that the guitar tone and the drums were so thin. With "modern" production those albums would sound incredibly heavy.
@yak45900 Cant agree with you there sorry..best Priest era was between 1978-1984....in 1982 they were Massive..and the Live Vengeance DVD proves that very well indeed!! \m/.
@Mozzofull1 I think their 70's albums much better but you make a good point, as live performers they were probably at their peak in the early 80's....great hearing those late 70s track live though.
@yak45900 Dont get me wrong..i enjoy listening to those early priest tracks..sin after sin was an absolute cracking album..The sinner being one of my favs..but also many others from that same album are enjoyable to listen to!..I also like the even earlier stuff they did..RockaRolla and sad wings of destiny albums...i get a huge buzz listening to them too!!..I dont think there isnt a bad Priest album..but thanks for the reply..
in 1996 i had the great honor of meeting The Metal God,a dream come true. He signed a white vinyl album JP album i have, and it will forever be my most prized pocession. He was the guest DJ at KCAL 96.7, in Redlands,Ca. on a Sat.night,so i grabbed my album and jumped in my truck and made a 20 minute drive to the station and waited for him to appear outside. he was wearing a"hot wheels" shirt and a Pheonix Suns baseball cap. i kick myself in the ass b/c i forgot to bring lyricsi wrote 2 give him.
@pretzeldog67 was it in 1996 Rob was working with his Two album? working with the Nine inch nails man??
very weird..so weird infact i bought the two album..listened to it once and taken it back to where i bought from and got my money back!! fortunatley 4years later..Rob Halford returned to his roots..Heavy Metal!!!! and what a storming Album Insurrection was..it still rocks my world to this day!! \m/

i will agree that priest were untouchable between 78-83, although their best studio work may be their earlier albums.

Never heard this one live either.. Yet another great underplayed song. Maybe they can break out more of these classics on an upcoming tour.
I'd love to hear Saints in Hell live!

I don't think rob can do the intro anymore.
The guys getting old, i understand him.
ikonxp 2 years ago
He can still do quite a bit with his voice. it'd probably sound a bit different if he did it now, though. A lot more rasp, and a pause in between.
