Yeah they were talking about lip syncing....And notice how they pick their words careful. Nobody said it did not happen and Paula said "I sang all the lead vocals". The President of the record label said "nobody did anything wrong". Those are both vague statements. They didn't say definitively that she did not lip sync. Instead they tried to invoke a disgust for the other party. And what would be their version of "wrong"?

nah Paula did the right thing reading, she had to be really deliberate in the choice of words she didnt want to risk anyone taking anything out of perspective, plus its a press conference not an interview, theres a difference people! u dont want to leave anything important out either, does anyone know when she stopped making hits? coz i dont think it was long after this she stopped making records, I wonder if this hurt her career, i was too small to remember anything bout her but the song rush!

I think it did hurt her career big time. I was in college when all this was going on, majoring in music myself. I also sing. I remember thinking why in the world couldn't they hear that it was Paula? Paula has such a distinct voice. Her singing voice sounds pretty much like her speaking voice. I was very bummed for her that her career halted as it did. She really was the first singer/dancer that was that gifted. Madonna was around but wasn't like Paula. Janet j. and Brit all followed Paula.

it wasnt that it hurt her career. she was diognosed with RSD and had to go through 14 surgries and had to get 4 metal plates put in her neck and the doctors thought she may become paralyzed plus after the surgeries she barely had an audible speaking voice let alone singing
