Those timelines sure do get blurry don't they? Am I wrong and this isn't Mark's early days with the band? I knew them from the mid seventies kicking butt at the Mad Hatter in W.H. and Steve was on drums. I never knew Mark when he was carrying that extra weight like he was in a number of these vid's. This would have to be the 'very early' days. Has to be, I can tell by the way he is playing. This is definitely the earlier stuff, before the real glory days. Right? Dave? Anybody?
I have been teaching guitar for 20 years and believe me....you do not hear guitar playing like this very often. Mark Hitt has got one of the most unique approaches to guitar playing.
@mikeguitar6 He was so much fun to watch, the whole band was. Mark had a style & didn't go all 1980's. Everyone was tapping their hearts out, he avoided all that. Kept his gear simple as well.
I used to see these guys at least twice a month when I was a kid (early 80's). Twisted Sister where also around. Rat Race Choir were much better musicians. They had a huge repertoire. They played everything. Mark Hitt had (has) an amazing guitar tone. He was one of the few who didn't go all EVH.
@doctornerve Ahhh! The Fore N Aft! I lived there! I lived in Carmel class of 1980. We used to see them in York Town as well. Do you remember the place?
I have been blessed to know, work shows with, and seen rat race for over 30 years.. Without Question, one of the finest bands EVER to grace the planet.... From the original "MOTHERS" in Greenwood Lake, NY, to the Soap Factory in Palisades Park, NJ, and further on.......OLD SCHOOLERS>>>>>>Pay Attention.......RAT RACE FUCKIN' ROCKS>>>>>>>>>>
This band is ridiculous, I've heard so much about them but never looked them up. Do they ever gig anymore? I need to see these guys live! When was this show?
Phenominal post!!!! :} one of my favorite bands. This band had So much talant.I can`t even describe what 1 of their shows were like,to somebody that never seen them.
