  • I do not buy the "instinct" story. I think Chan knew exactly what he saw to make him realize that the flop hit Seed like a ton of bricks. Of course he would not say, "I picked up a tell bigger than Dallas."

  • dam doyle has put on some weight since

  • When I have Aces I immediately put my opponent on the stone cold nuts when he checks the flop and turn

  • Call me a donk or whatever... But I always try to get all my chips in before the flop when playing aces.... I'd take the 70% chance heads up with aces rather than forced to a decision post-flop when the aces didn't hit anything on the board....

Maybe if I'm Johnny Chan, maybe I'll try trapping my opponent, but I'm nowhere near as good... so.......

  • @lolipedofin well obviously but they only called his raise, how is he going to get all his chips in before the flop? chans not trying to trap, he had position and knew he was beat after the check on the flop, fucking donk stfu

  • @helldemon44 I guess I was sleepy when I made that comment... I didn't notice that the 3 players only called his raise. Either that, or I was simply saying I won't trap anyone with Aces, it's 3 weeks ago, I forgot the context of what I was writing.... No need to get hostile in your comment.

  • @lolipedofin fuck you faggit, im going to get hostile and kill your whole family because of this youtube comment

  • @helldemon44 I've trained myself to no not get tilted when playing poker, you think your trolling gonna make me flip?? But nevertheless it's fun to see a brat blabber on youtube... c'mon assface, give me your best shot... how are you gonna kill my family?? bludgeon them with your lollipop??

  • @lolipedofin shut the fuck up fuckface, im going to get my fucking knife and skin your daughter then pour rubbing alcohol on her and light her on fire. And ill fucking make you eat the ashes you little fuck

  • @helldemon44 Nothing I haven't heard before, you gotta be more creative than that, tittyface....

  • master chan!! the only player ever won back to back wsop 1987 1988 finished 2nd 1989 that is amazing!!!

  • Would rather throw my chips in the toilet than play against johnny. At least I would not be kidding myself what I am doing with my money.

  • Chan knows what he's doing, don't second guess him.

  • you gotta love the fish talk on youtube

  • pocket aces looks good but there are so many hands can beat it lol :)

  • I lay down Aces all the time, whats so special about it , its only a pair.

  • @bardo0007 its not only a pair man its the strongest one

  • @bardo0007 That's Johnny Chan makes millions of $, all you do is being a Mr Know It all on youtube,

  • At sky, folding AA in a small pot when there aren't many hands that can beat u and being right is amazing especially sicnr they check flop and turn. On the other hand folding aa when there are flush or straight is easy

  • Folded Aces when someone could have three Js or better is easy, I try to never overplay pocket aces. I folded an all-in bet with A-A when the board came 9-K-K-Q-8 because the board showed a possible straight and flush. The guy that bet all had the flush, the other guy who called had made the straight holding J-10. So folding A-A is easy because sometimes its strength lowers as the flop, turn, and river plays out. I tried to take the pot on the flop but they called with their draws.

  • THIS is called LOSING THE MINIMUM for all you poker video makers

  • Love playing Blackjack? What if there were truly a secret that nobody knew about with respect to the game of blackjack? And what if the very thing everybody thought were true about blackjack, was actually the exact opposite of the truth? Check us out

    google blackjack secret code.

  • In order of greatness: 1. Checking Turn 2. Folding River 3. Checking Flop

  • The worst thing is that Doyle fold... with J 3 !!!!! he would be done from the table if the cowboy had just call!!!

  • @katram11 What an idiotic comment. Why in the world would he call a raise with J 3? Moron.

  • @Crashirocks asshole was an hypothetic comment not a must call.... pfff amateurs...

  • Johnny Chan maybe thinks that Seed has a Jack, not a 6.

  • he made it look like a no brainer... so sick

  • It took almost one second to fold Aces. Indeed, this is highest level of poker...he didn't even brag about folding aces and just move onto next hand. I believe if you came with nothing like a refugee, it gave you a strong backbone of surviving skills. because you are always underdog and people treat you like shid so you learned how to survive among mofos.

  • CHAN!!!

  • 'Johnny Chan The Master'

  • seed gave it away at 0:56

takes extra long when the 3 hit.... pros pick up on these things

  • Without even reading any of the comments, I already know 95% of them were created by complete poker morons and will probably make worse at poker if I read them. Amazing hand with 3 amazing players. LOL @ Huck Seeds face when he flops a set 0_O

  • It was because of the jacks

  • @bestpokercoach Responds like this are funny. :)

  • I watch this everyday at least once to see Mr. Chan's epicness

  • Seed should have bet on the flop or in the turn to make less obvious that he had made a full house.

  • I can understand checking the flop and turn but how the hell does Johhny not call the river?

Great play. I wouldve paid him off on the river

  • AA can't beat Full House, Chan made the right choice here, sometime you got to lay down AA from your hand.

1 pair can't even beat 2 pairs, how the heck will it beat Full House?

  • you guys are morons its not him looking at chan that gave it away. he glanced at his chips for a second. Thats the tell not looking at an opponent haha.

  • He looked at Johnny while checking, that might have have him suspicious. Chan did not even bet any street to make sure of that, he did not put any more money into the pot. Impressive is how quick he folded that hand.

  • How he folded those Aces is something that I'll never understand. Not even a call to see. That's why he's won all those braces and I fart around for low stakes.

  • @bailinnumberguy yeah he really does love winning those braces.

  • @jackbauer27Psn Thanks for pointing out my typo. We're all proud of you. Your boyfriend probably is too.

  • @bailinnumberguy So is your mama

  • @bailinnumberguy I can't wait to start playin poker for braces. My teeth sure could use em

  • this is more amazing of any of the boats or anything i've seen laid down on the river on youtube to me. the 3 bet is the only time chan could of even gained information. huck seed has such a poker face too. a live tell perhaps, but that is the play of the century to beat and i know this century is still early on. :)

  • my dumbass would have went all in

  • Great laydown, but I would attribute this more to Huck's horrible poker face than Chan's skill. They way he glanced at Chan on the flop and checked was such a glaring tell that he hit something good on that flop. He prolly had Huck on a jack.

  • Can't believe people saying this is standard/boring/easy. Seriously? The amazing part of this is Chan checked down 2 streets and then snap folded the river bet. If he bet the flop or turn and got called and he folded the river it would still be a good fold, but not as amazing. Same thing goes for if he led out and got raised. But he didn't lose a SINGLE chip and instafolded aces. That is skill.

  • @kingofcupcakes I agree, but we are all experts when we see the hole cards though, I know I am.

  • @kingofcupcakes agree.

  • @kingofcupcakes Two pair is always a tricky middle ground, but oftentimes I think it's better to be safe than sorry and just fold: Chan was paying attention carefully to everyone else around the table, and that's where the skill is at here.

  • it's all about reading.

  • it was tells in hucks voice

  • It is a monster laydown. Not because of the board but because he instant fold pocket AA instantly at the FIRST bet!

    Talk about reading well someone.

  • bildiğin mal diğer adama J6 gelme ihtimali çok düşük bi ihtimal ben olsam donuma kadar basardım aq full house yapmış adama bak ya o.O

  • not really a standard fold at all... and i think most people would agree thats a fairly good flop to cbet with aces. I would still try to get 2 streets of value with aces here, werid play by chan.

  • that's not exactly a monster laydown all he had was 2 pair with 2 jacks on the board someone could have easily had another jack

  • @CFBLover3 If that's the way you think while playing, you're losing a lot of value my friend ...

  • @CFBLover3 Odds were Nobody had a J on flop and the bottom line Chan lost MIN Amount w/ monster hand & monster lay-down so it WAS a MONSTER LAYDOWN .

  • @franz909

do you play deep stack poker??? don't go broke with a pocket pair. that wasn't a monster hand. it's a good laydown at best...

  • big deal....he thought the other guy had a jack so he folded to a set. he had no idea the other guy made a full house.. :/

  • impressive fold...not cuz of the actual fold but because of how fast he did it...I dont think anyone else insta folds AA there.

  • instinct over textbook..love it

  • Just not that great of a fold. When I think of a monster laydown in this situation I think of Chan getting his full house with A's full of J's and then Huck Seed having pocket Jacks for the quads. That would be what I call a monster laydown. This I call a good read on an opponent but in reality Chan's hand just wasn't that great.

  • @acmarietti ... lol ... you are full of shit. If you don't think what he did he is monster laydown, you don't know anything about poker.

  • @RishadanPort Tell me what he had committed to the pot? He obviously got a great read on Huck Seed from the beginning, acting like it's a MONSTER laydown is just blowing it out of proportion. Watch Negreanu's laydown against Chan if you really want to see a monster laydown. As it stands Chan knew he was beat, and laid it down with no chips committed, it was an easy laydown on a good read.

  • I just watched this for the first time...I'm an ex-pro player.

This is a monster laydown. I figured it had to be due to a physical tell, and Chan confirmed that IN THIS VIDEO after the hand. To all you internetters who don't think physical tells are that important...study up! There's a whole science to it that you must study if you're serious about the game.

  • @DJFLDJFL Hi there, I agree with you. Most idiots on here will be quick to speculate saying, "OMG, it was easy because there was a J." But to people who plays big stakes, whether the person had a J or not, the physical reaction of Seed, post-flop, turn, the looks, and the reiver confident (slight value) bet to lure had Chan's mind made for him. Like you stated, there is a whole new art to this than the cards, and I am learning as much as I can. Good luck and come back to the game ;)

  • @arodspecialist Haha. Thanks man. Decisions like these are always easy when you can see the hole cards. This fold is obviously Anything but standard and only made possible by a physical tell. And I probably won't be coming back. The game is getting more and more solved and you have to put in more and more time to make a profit at the game. It was really starting to cut into time with my daughter so I cold-turkeyed it. I miss it every day tho.

  • @arodspecialist msg me if you want to know some good books to get on learning the game and/or tells and/or etc.

  • this is not a monster laydown. its a fairly obvious one.

  • Seed obviously liked that flop.

Then again, with the benefit of seeing all holecards, it's easier to see who likes what and why.

  • I think that shirt is a tell. It means Chan is a badass poker player...don't fuk with him.

  • ofcourse after watching this hand i can tell that it was very good laydown by Chan, Every1 tries to be pro advisor after watching the video, and im one of them so are you

  • huge read of tells by Chan

  • only a donk would have called there. this is no big play. he is chan! but let`s be real... it wasn`t that hard of a hand to lay down

  • @sssalexsss07 your a douche bag

  • @dan11588 no retard. youre the douche bag. don`t know shit

  • @sssalexsss07 haha ok youtube shark

  • @dan11588 lame. I guess since you comment on youtube also, that would make you a shark too ? or you never thought of that ever in your pathetic life ?

  • @sssalexsss07 ohhh snap

  • The check on the flop is not unusual given the rainbow paired board and in position and i would guess johnny chan has a lower cbet frequency than most. No good player checks the turn and its prolly incorrect to more than 95% of the time w/o a soul read. Huck Seed is predominately a cash player so his bet on the river is likely part of a balanced range that includes bluffs/thin value hands which doesn't help Johnny fold at all. It had to be a purely physical tell Johnny picked up on the flop. GG

  • @JeffandKmusic very well analysed, looks like an easy fold against a weak-tight player but not at that level. Imagine how badly you gonna get beaten up if you check/fold your aces in this spot every time. The board was about as good as it could be for aces without improving to a set. With range merging Seed could be betting about anything from a fh to trip Jacks (more unlikely) to a pair of 6s or A3 or a a PP smaller then Jacks

  • jhonny is a donk!... I wudda folded that shit preflop!

  • "You fuckin made a move on Chan!?! You son of a bitch!"

  • not really a monster lay down is it? i mean any J would have chan beat, Anyone like Seed with a pocket pair could have hit too... Common Sense really, I've made folds like this on a daily basis...

  • @bam1982k

bull shit. A fold like this on the river when its been check on flop and turn is wrong 99% of the time. Chan just had a read on Huck

  • @bam1982k ...and I bet all of your reads were wrong.

  • @bam1982k thats why we haven't heard of you..bec u are broke...

  • lol monster laydown lol how can u be good their

  • I would have bet the pot on the flop. See hachem fold, see Seed call. Then I would have been pretty sure I was beat. On the Turn Id check if it was checked to me. Probably call a small bet if he bet out. On the river the same. Its hard to let go of aces but when you got someone check calling out of position with a J-J-6 flop.... yeah thats fishy to me. Regardless I would have lost more. Not my whole stack but more than the 1200$ raise. Thats why im a amateur, and Chan is a top pro.

  • That`s Poker on highest Level!

  • I swear nearly everyone is a retard who has commented on this. Everyone thinks there pros saying its an easy fold and all this. When chan has made more money than any off these donks who try to make themselves look good. I can guarentee prob 99% of the idiots on here would at least bet one of the streets if not call the river at the end. People saying they can reead huck with him glancing at his chips please come on do you think pros give easy reads like that away. Great laydown

  • I read a book called SECRET ADVANTAGES OF A POKER PRO and it has alot of great information on what you have to do to become a great player! it was definitly worth five bucks on amazon and barnes n noble. you can download it in seconds.

  • what the fuck?

  • haha i dont mean to preach but Huck did seem reeaaaalllllll fishy with that boat!

  • OMG! I read Chan folds monster and I see him folding two pairs on the river. That's no monster.

  • A good skillful poker player can just get angry and cry now becoz donks are every where. They will call your AK with K9, QQ with Q10, AA with J8 and will win some how. Donks are the poker players now, both online and in live games.

Poker is dead now, once it was all about skills and now its all about luck. So whats the point to play poker now ?

  • @aliabideen well i dont know about you but i've been very succesful playing against donks for the most part..i'm a winning player because they are so easy to beat..especially live

  • Seed is very smart and tricky and Chan knows that. When he checks the flop, there's no value in betting Aces because Chan would only get called by someone with a Jack. Seed pot sized bet on the end was way too fishy, and the reason he made it big was to make it look bluffy, which will never work on Chan. Easy fold for Johnny.

  • i think this folds it's a big mistake!!!! now looks an amazing fold... but suppose seed got 10s 9s 7s even bluff.... in a long run folds aces in that's spot it's a mistake i think..

  • WATAFA

  • Well, i don't know the stacks there so i don't know how muck that 1.2k+3.5k means to Chan. And true, check check all over to the river and that bet looks really tricky. But knowing what that pot means relatively to they stacks is more important in this decision, but that is unknown. So bad Video :P.

  • Standard.

  • He's an monster CHAN!!!!!!!

  • I would check flop/turn and call on the river

  • @eckataa I might do the same but folding was not that hard. Chan thought he was up against AJ,KJ or something so if u r not a donk its an easy fold since the pot is so small and u allready thing your beaten..

  • @eckataa A terrible player plays it like Chan did.

A bad player plays it like you would.

A good player leads out on the flop because you can get value from pretty much all pocket pairs

An amazing player plays it like Chan did

  • Not as great a laydown as I was expecting. That flop was scary for anyone holding aces. I folded mine in a similar situation the other day, the only difference being that my opponent actually bet the flop, so I knew they at least had trips. Checking all the way to the river would fool most amateurs, but 95% of pros would have done exactly the same as Chan in this particular situation.

  • LEGEND

    wait for it...

    CHAN

  • I saw this hand maybe a million times and still come back to watch it from time to time.

This is not only "poker at its highest level" as the commentator says, this the BEST PART of high level poker. Pure instinct, pure read, Johnny reads Huck (who is an awesome player too) like an open book and insta mucks aces. Fucking legendary.

Johnny doesnt look for suckers, he finds a champion and makes a sucker out of him ....

  • i'm not sure what the commentator means by it being "amazing" than chan laid it down. that was a pretty standard read.

  • @siflrock fuck you

  • Comment removed

  • @siflrock Yeah you're right, everyone would have read that instantly. How did you get on in the WPT this year anyway champ?

  • @lmaoslashlol are you kidding me? are you telling me that was a hard read? you do realize that all he had to do was put one of his opponents on a jack, don't you? would you really have rode pocket aces all the way after getting zero help from five freakin cards, with a single jack in any of your opponents' hands beating you? wow. if so, please lets play. i could use the money.

  • @siflrock

    agreed

  • crazy fold! and lol @ all the donk comments

  • its a very easy read. He knew huck had a monster. I could even see it. I play live poker and i do this for a living. Huck glances at his chips just for a second before he looks up at chan. Thats a big tell he had a hand. He thought for one second to grab chips and then check to chan and looked at him. You have to play poker a long time to catch stuff like this but a lot of fish do it. they will glance at there chips then look up and check with monsters. Huck did by accident nobody perfect

  • @fliptthescript Easy when you can see the whole cards. You would've lost a lot more this hand I bet. Dont kid your self please....

  • That's a monster laydown? That was such an easy fold. With that flop and almost no money on the pot with 2 pro callers? What did you think they called with? 2 7 off suit? Doesn't require a genius to fold AA with that flop. Possible combo for big calls are 66, AJ suited or JJ.

  • @ephedradiet So what, you only call when you have the nut and fold whenever you can be beaten by something? That was a monster laydown.

  • @xXFiocco94Xx You must not know money management and/or have poor poker judgement. In Hold'Em you use 5 cards, not 2. AA is the nut only preflop in case you forgot.

  • @ephedradiet Yeah, i know poker, thank you for explaining it to me, i'm saying that you can't fold a hand only because there ara a few hands that beat you. In this case, Chan would have lost against 3-4 hands, he made a great fold because he understood that Seed had one of them. If for you that's such a normal thing, i'm surprised you're not playing with them.

  • LOL at trolls saying Chan played the hand wrong. There's a lot of theory in poker but reads trump numbers and Chan obviously had such an amazing read that he didn't even take a shot at the pot with AA. That's what makes is so good, it's pretty obvious and I don't even play poker.

  • damn, he play aces without any bets and fold at the end!!!

  • big deal... he soft played it on a paired board

  • very nice laydown

  • jj killed seed

  • PokerView allows US players on their site

  • after all this is Johny F*cking Chan

  • oh please.... i would have folded that - -

  • Two j's up there how is this a monster laydown?

  • @rushrules1968 try to have "i'm beat" figured out on the flop where everyone "checked to the raiser".

  • @rushrules1968 Cause the guy had trip 6's

  • @rushrules1968 ?? ARE U STUPID?.. seriously.. 2 jacks on the flop.. sure.. but no one bet until the river and he didnt even pay off huck with AA ..thats why its a monster laydown u stupid moron.. seriously get the f*¤k out off youtube with ur stupid comments...

  • johnny chan has to had a tell. He is the man.

  • PokerView allows US players on their site

  • Wow, sick fold for sure.

  • Best play ive seen

  • It would be worth it to play against these guys and loose every penny i have just to listen to Doyles old stories from Texas.

  • I like the way he is Check/fold mode..

  • People think AA wins as much as it looses, well that might be true when facing 3-5 players... of course.. it will win 50% of the time. If were talking heads up... this hand should be winning about 80% of the time.

  • People think AA wins as much as it looses, well that might be true when facing 3-5 players... of course.. it will win 50% of the time. If were talking heads up... this hand should be winning about 80% of the time

  • You fools below obviously don't play poker for a living. Chan misplayed the hand by not raising big after the flop, trying to scare off the others who may NOT have had the J. He let them stay in the hand, and knew when the guy raised big at the end that that guy had the J. Simple enough. And guess what? The first player out of the last 3 WSOP's main event had pocket aces and went all-in. Pocket aces lose just about as much as they win. Eff all of you chumps.

  • @GhostOfBugsy "pocket aces lose just about as much as they win"? ... You're an idiot.

  • @GhostOfBugsy I agree Chan probably should've raised the flop. But AA wins as much as it loses? Are you daft?

According to my Poker Tracker 3 stats I've won with AA 96.55% of the 29 times I've had it. In tourneys, I've won 89.73% of 331 times I've had it. According to you, it doesn't win much. I beg to differ.

  • @Lisdop Its very clear that Chan had some kind of physical tell here on Huck.

  • @GhostOfBugsy it's so obvious you are better than Johnny Chan. In fact you are better than mathematics itself.

  • i want oreos

  • WTF? "Poker at its highest level"? Really? Any good player knows that when the flop has a pair, the odds of one the other schmucks having the same card are pretty good. Even with pocket aces. Chan did nothing great here. Idiot announcers.

  • @GhostOfBugsy depends on the pair onboard.

  • @GhostOfBugsy in the words of hellmuth. you sir are an idiot

  • @GhostOfBugsy - hmm........ 52 cards in the deck and only 4 are Jacks, 2 already on the board. That leaves 2 out of a possible 49 cards. Thats means the chances that a player is holding 1 of them is around 4% x 2 players = 8%. Still think the chances are pretty good? I think there's a pretty good chance ur an idiot.

  • @GhostOfBugsy you're a moron what are the chances of someone hitting a set or holding a pair pre-flop on a board like that ... JJ on the table means only 2 jacks are left runner runner 2-3 is not scary as is the 6 only thing to worry about is a set or a full house hard to imagine someone will call 3500 with 4-5

  • doyle would've won !

  • pokerview is open to us players as well

  • Johnny Chan is very articulate.

  • I would love to play poker with the people who post here

  • ridikulus shirt

  • I hate it when the title of videos give away the action
