My unit never displays the acceleration gauge, and just says "This function is not available now". It displays angular velocity, clock, time, direction etc. but I heard the VSS wire or whatever does not need to be connected in order for vehicle dynamics to work properly. I really would like to have the acceleration on there and was wondering if it's working for you on just normal factory settings. Would love some feedback, thanks.

Those that want this head unit for the GAUGES, be aware that this head unit will ONLY SHOW useless gauges like voltage, slope, clock or G force.

It will NOT show anything that you are looking for such as boost, water temperature, etc....

Great Head unit otherwise.

yes im so lost i bought my mazda3 with one of those in it- i cant work the navigation - i cant put in a address and go its hella weird - it just shows me where im at- i have the cd and everything if i eject the cd it just shows me that im in sacramento and the closest is frisco it just zooms out- do i need to register my cd into the system or what do i do i cant always have it with me-

All you need to do to "bypass" is put a permanant ground supply onto the parking cable in the rear of the stero, because its supposed to be on the switched ground of your handbrake "e brake" so it comes on when the e brake is on, but just whack on a permant ground it will play dvds while driving etc, :) hope this helps people

Yes you can. Same as if you listening music (radio, cd/dvd, Ipod) and using GPS maps..

The hard drive is for temporary storage the maps only. You will need a USB adapater if you want to use an external flash drive or hard drive with that much capacity for MP3 files.

yeh they are not visible because he doesnt have the modules for them installed. XM and Sirius both need special modules. The Avic is only XM and Sirius ready. It doesnt already include them
