I went to that. The Corpse Bride/ Nightmare characters absolutely incredible. It's hard to believe they got some of these clay sculptures to stand up, let alone move properly.
I'm wearing jack skellington slippers, socks, pants, shirt... while holding a plushie and watching this..... the only thing that could make this moment more perfect is if tim burton walked through my front door!! :)
dear tim: after 20 year of grotesque creatures, naif style drawed characters, doll-like sewed girls, and spirals try something different... unique interessing part of this exhibition: pictures and models of films like mars attack, batman 1st, edward scissors hands,etc... in my opinion the rest are "cool things", but nothing to do with art... every scribble become a masterpiece..
I was in New York on a college trip when this was on and was supposed to be going, but we didn't get chance :-( Still, I aleady have the first edition of his art book that came out - the deluxe version with the signed lithograph ;-) May have cost £200, but for everyone who bought it, I am sure they know it was worth it :D
I went recently in LA and it was incredible. I gained an enormous amount of respect for him as an artist to go along with my previous respect for him as a film maker. He is a true genious.
Muchas Gracias!!! Esta es la única manera en la que puedo disfrutar de la exposición de este gran artista! Desde Argentina millones de gracias por este video!
@inkartist97 "your" extremely talented artists is playing nthing but a joke in all of you fans. His art is camp,it's a joke and meant to be.hideous, the funny thing is you take it seriously. LOL Burton creates intentional camp, how do u like those apples?
@PtAltmVansanTarr Art is interpreted in the eye of the viewer, who are you to bash and or insult someone elses perspective of Tim Burtons art work. You may see his art as camp and utter crap, but that is your oppinion, while in others oppinions he is a talented artist, with a knack for dark and expressive imagery. Sure he may be no Michelangelo, but for our modern times his art is wonderful, and certainly better than most modern art I have had the unfornuate opportunity to see.
@PtAltmVansanTarr to each their own, dear human being, and he's popular because he lets out what we all have in the depths of our minds ; that creepy, yet somehow extremely drawing world of imagination and twisted tales. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
The world will lose a wonderfully amazing person when Tim Burton dies. Who else can put two totally different things for example Halloween and Christmas, The Nightmare Before Christmas, together?! NO ONE THAT'S WHO!!!
@PikachuJackskeling94 From making Vincent, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, my favorite Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare (Which HENRY SELICK DIRECTED and was almost completely overlooked. Tim had little to do with Nightmare but gets all the credit. But it was his characters! Bringing his original characters to life leaves me in awe). he went from all that to Planet of the Apes and fucking Willy Wonka (TOTALLY NOT NEEDED FROM THE ORIGINAL TIM). So long as he continues with characters I'm in!
@ryanranger what you said about Tim Burton having little to do with the Nightmare before christmas is COMPLETELY not true. yes Henry Selick directed it but Tim wrote the whole story and produced it, it was ALSO based on a poem he wrote he deserves the credit he got
I went there, and my parents pretty much had to drag me out of there because I was so amazed and I didn't want to leave, Tim Burton is amazing I am like his biggest fan!
I went there. Anyone know what those creatures are called, There was like 4 of them stacked on each other all differnt colours, there was drawings of them and even models
It bugging me ever sence i got back from the gallary
@tiabbzz 1) Tim actually originally intended for the special effects in Mrs Attacks to be in stop motion, but was pressed for time, and had to use CGI. Those aren't just statues, they're puppets!
2)Yep, It's the head of Peirce Brosnan and...that actress I can't remember
I LOVE HIM he's my icon! did you get in? any good pictures? Sorry I ask alot of questons. What was it like? Was he there? Will it ever come to ireland? Why is that emo music playing? It's rubbish! Please post me anythin to do with tim burton he's my icon.. :D T
It was an amazing exhibit, Im glad i went, i wound up in there for 2 hours. The Hansel and gretel movie was funny.. I gotta agree with everyone about the guards, just in general the guards who work here act like jerks. Thats why i refuse to join
@loversinjapan3 I snapped a camera phone picture very discreetly, but once the guard saw I had my phone out (a few minutes later...), he came over and told me to put it away. I managed to get a pretty good photo of the Edward suit, but they are being crazy about it.
@PikachuJackskeling94 tim burton will never die coz he's effing immortal!
