What the world needs now the revival of and re-play of great opera whenever and whereever and everywhere! tomorrow, real music lovers, call your local radio station , tell them to get this Traviata and they won't be sorry they did! Make re-quests and send copies to republican's and neo-conservatives you know. That will put it into play , so what if they think you are a nut ! Just tell them it is
part of the cultural record and they can't revise it OR dismantle it Viva la Internet!
All I can say is "WOW"!!!!!! Thank you VERY much for sharing this OUTSTANDING excerpt from the studio LA TRAVIATA with three all-American principal singers (Moffo, Tucker, and Merrill)!!!!!!
My God... I could listen to this again and again and again and again... and AGAIN! And always feel the same way: awed and touched. Cry almost every time...
What can you say about perfection??? Merrill was so glorious in this role - he was a great Verdi baritone possessing all the strength and drama, but yet maintaining a beautiful and often sweet voice. Hard to find that combination today. Moffo even sounded like a gorgeous woman - even if we didn't have photos of her, you could know she was elegant.

I could not finish to listen to Anna Moffo. This duett is beautiful and emotional. My favourite.

This is pure operatic heaven! They are each in their own right excellent artists. Together, in this duet, they achieve near perfection.

Netrebko??

I also like her to sing this aria with Gino Bechi (here on youtube).

Moffo is a great Violetta and Merrill is the best Germont!

AH! I am so excited that this is on Youtube! Thanks.

She is the best Violetta period, and proves it with this piece. Merrill is an outstanding Gremont. Thank you. Anna Moffo; No one like her.
