Jean Morton now lives in birmingham, still alert and ok and lives in a home for the elderly. I wish Jean knew how remembered she is. Lovely memories of Aunty Jean. Thanks for this footage.
@gf1001 Thanks for the info- did THIS Jean Morton also write poetry- I have a poem by Jean Morton titled 'Winning Through'- would love the rest of the verses!
@dadytbone Haha. I'm 46 and know exactly what you mean! :o)
I actually recall watching this as my favourite TV show and used to be glued to the TV at the age of 2. I remember it extraordinarily vividly as if it was 44 years ago!
@dadytbone Yup, and if you wasn't a memebr of the club, then really, there was no life, only an existence. Where has all that time gone? Kid's TV nowadays is a sanitized, politically correct load of garbage. My grandchildren watch all of this stuff and more; sadly the youngsters are being raised on a diet of sugary drinks, fat laden convenience food and turgid dross on the TV. Oh yes, and facebook...sorry about the rant LOL
Remember the 'sign' I'd forgotten all about it until someone at work did it! No computer generated animation then.... those were the days. Anybody remember Tales of the Riverbank with Hammy the Hamster. Oh and Johnny Morris .........
That could well be Twycross, she was guesting on the opening day. I was there with my folks, when I was ickle. Along with Jean Morton there was also a chimps tea party held in what I can only describe as a wrestling ring.
Jean Moreton was a very good friend to me, and in later years as head of audience relations, she helped secure many interviews with the star for my radio show. She also recorded two Tinga and Tucker episodes especially for me complete with sound effects! At the Royal Show at Stonleigh in Warwickshire, I was allowed to use the ATV caravan as a base thanks to Jean.
Your post is an old one- but am researching a British poet of about the same era as Jean Morton, and wondering if they are one and the same- particularly looking for a poem called 'Winning Through'- thanks
@65bunyip Hi. I honestly don't know. I do know that Jean wrote children's stories and scripted the Tinga and Tucker programmes. Shw was also responsiable for press releases and was a producer at ATV as well asa n announcer and later manegment. Sorry that I cannot ber of more help.
Do You Have anymore Footage than This , I Am Sure this Was Shot As The Opening Bit Of The Show & There Was A Private Show Afterwards That You had To Have An Invite For To Which I Was Invited
Funny eh memories.? I always thought I remembered Auntie Jean as middle aged and mumsy , but this footage proves my memory wrong and she really was quite a hot babe eh?
