She's popular because she's expressing a new type of style that America hasn't seen yet (heavily influenced by artists in Asia, she says) and most of the young population in America immediately falls for anything "original and different" which Gaga is not. Is she awful? No, and she seems like a sweet girl. But as for her talent as an artist, I would call her mediocre, nothing remotely close to brilliant.

I quite dislike Lady Gaga actually, and yes, I am BoA`s fan, but I also know how SM produces their stars and letting them be creative and do whatever they want is not one of their ways (heard of DBSK?) BoA`s critics usually critic her about not writing her own songs (which is true) so... think whatever you want.

Ok guys, Wikipedia will have the best answer. Try to learn something before you compare these 2 artists. BoA was active as singer since 1999, Gaga was active around 2005 (her albumn come out in 2008), I did not see the point of copy Gaga image at all.

@kibumit Personally, I like Gaga and BoA both. To answer the little questions-- Yes Lady Gaga sings live. Also, she can dance. She's been playing piano and dancing since she was three. She may not have been around as long as BoA, but she's just as talented. Also, Lady Gaga can speak French, German, Spanish, and English. My point is-- BoA and Gaga are both very strong, talented artists. :)

@blackbudderfly hmm.. no offence intended, just objectively speaking, i dun think its just because they are koreans thats why they can dance 'better'. yeah alotta them can dance, but thats because their company trained them for many yrs (can be easily 2-7yrs) since they are young before allowing them to debut, whereas many artistes in other countries dun receive the same amount of training.. =)

BoA Kwon is absolutely stunning, has a beautiful voice, a great style, she is a great dancer, a smart woman and just perfect, she has been an inspiration for me for years, and I can't speak any other language than English, but every time I listen to her songs, no matter which they are, even her english songs, I get in a great mood and just want to write.
