@wlfhndz The Kingsmen formed in 1955 and have recorded many albums. This song is on their 2000 CD "Proven Time & Time Again." It was nominated for a Singing News Fan Award for Song of the Year in 2001. Within only a couple of days of this performance, they were suddenly forced to stop using the name Kingsmen for legal reasons--and chose to continue under a new name, the Carolina Boys. In 2004 they regained legal rights to the name, and continue performing today as the Kingsmen Quartet.
@wlfhndz The Kingsmen lineup changed periodically as singers came and went. Randy Crawford had just joined the Kingsmen earlier in 2001, and was not on the original recording of this song. This particular lineup of singers never recorded as the Kingsmen, and recorded only two albums together as the Carolina Boys ("Honor the Heritage, Vol. 1" and "Good News!") before Jerry Martin left to join the Dove Brothers Quartet and Parker Jonathan left to spend more time with his family.
Glad that Randy came back to sing with Kingsmen again. Love him.

did this particular group of singers ever record a cd together either as the Kingsmen or Carolina Boys? They are wonderful together.

thanks for the info. Their performance on Bill Traylor's gospel TV show was inspiring and sparked my interest.
