The Korean team trials is of higher caliber then the Olympic finals. The medals should just be given out at the Korean trials.
The only reason the Koreans' don't win the 500m is from all the impeding from the other skaters. It seems as is the Canadians and Americans team skate against the Koreans.
Why didn't Ahn Hyun-Soo not show up for the world cup in Bulgaria? And how serious is his injury?
If you do communicate with Ahn Hyun-Soo, can you ask him if he encounters any type of hostility from the Canadian skaters?
From what I see on TV, it seems that the dirtiest skaters are the Canadians. They are always pushing and grabbing. That Charles Hamelin sucks ass, but he acts as if he owns the track.
The ISU seems to hate the fact that Korea dominates this sport.
@888yme Don't you mean the World Championship? Anyway, the reason he didn't show up is the same reason why he didn't show up at the Olympics, because he didn't make the national team so he couldn't compete in international competitions.
@SimcaMigratoryBird He injured his knee in 2008, in 2009 he was recovering but had not recovered enough to make the cut in the National Team Trials. So he didn't make the national team for the 2009-2010 season so he couldn't compete in international competitions. (He did compete in Korean National competitions this year, just before the Olympics and also the last three days). The national team trials for the 2010-2011 season is next month (April) and Ahn Hyun Soo will be participating in that.
The most interesting part about this video is the guy who came in second. Lee Seung Hoon didnt make the national team in the 2009 trials so he converted over to long track in april of that year because he wanted to be in the olympics so badly. He was a huge underdog and no one expected him to be anywhere near the top but the guy came out with a silver medal and a damn good time for a guy with less than a years experience in long track. Look for him in the 10000 coming up soon.
Ahhh! interesting race! funny how one of the guys in the red suits just sped off earlier in the race, then slowly he slowed and kind of waited for the others. Errhh..i guess i would've done the same thing :P
ah nah byung shin ;;
hold the camera up so i can see the last lap.
