Holy crap that jet pack is amazing, it looks just like the movie version, if you put a sound box in it you could even have the fx sounds from the movie, the blue lights were a little distracting but I see why you chose them its not like there is much else you can do to show effects of jet bursts. Seriously are you going to sell these on ebay or something I would love to have one on display in my home, I saw the helmet on ebay but wow it was going for nearly two grand

if i remember right , the guy who made the original indiana jones jacket has replica rocketeer jackets for sale . i had my jacket ( raiders ) hand made for the perfect fit by Peter . you should have a look at wested.com. they take about a month to make one but i'm sure the very reasonable prices he charges will be worth it in the end .

WOW Cool Stuff!!! This Movie was filmed in my home town Santa Maria, Ca. I was also in the movie as an extra, but was later changed to play Bill Campbells ( the rocketeer) double fo the movie. Very awesome experience.

do you have pics of your harness?? also what material did you use, and where did you get it? Im in the process of getting the supplies for the rocketpack. I have the buckles and a crummy cast of the rocketpack which isnt as accurate as yours.But until I can get the mim pack. it will just have to do.

my harness consists of leather straps - nothing horribly accurate. I only have a plain non metal buckle attached to the front - It's not accurate..but it will be hidden when I make my lifesized display with a jacket and everything. You might want to start bondo-ing your kit now. Not sure how long MiM is going to take and not sure if it's going to be any better.

Thanks for the info, Mim Version is the most accurate jetpack out there. Also, the mim helmet is the best one out there as well (since the master replicas helmet is a different design, and not film accurate). Theres two fellow finheads that own screen-used helmets and stunt packs used in the film. Mim made moldings from them.

I have a complete costume except Boots, harness, and an film accurate jetpack.

Have you decided what jacket you are going with? or are you customizing your own?

The Helmet must be a Master Replicas metal helmet. The pack is really awesome, specially with the custom lights. Nice touch.

I can wear the helmet.. It is a Master Replicas, disney replica. One of the few replicas available that is made of metal.

haha... hm.. yea.. I wouldn't wear it while on a bicycle due to the reduced visibility.. but it is comfortable. It fits me pretty well and I wore it around the house while doing laundry. The inside is lined and padded so that helps. After extended periods, it does get a little hot (as most helmets get) and it is heavy because it is made of metal.

That's cool. It would be neat to add sound and simulated flame effects on the two jets. The kind of flame effects you see from DJ equipemnt. Where it's a silk fabric & color changing LEDs with air flowing through it. Google image search for "simulated flame" & you can see what I'm talking about.
