  • Oh lord, Do I Miss These Times ! Such a fantastic song & Vid ! Thankyou soo much for posting....Anita <3

  • Steve gaines just kills it....... AWESOME!!!

  • i drinking my first beer right now (14 yrs)

  • Can anyone else watch these live videos and not have to make a valiant effort to hold back the blubbering? FUCK why is reality so fucking cruel...

  • My ass just got kicked.

  • where is my time machine?

  • Some excellent footage of the incredibly underrated Steve Gaines!......RIP the original LS.

  • We so partied to this song. The 70's rocked...I am so glad I grew up with this music...I love all kinds of music from every era, but there is something special to me about the 70's, going to concerts and free love. Seemed to be much simpler times for sure. No longer a stoner, but do not regret when I was. A hippie at heart even at 54.

  • great song

  • How does this only have 204 568 views??

  • lol confederate flag

  • This vid shows that whites cannot dance.

  • @simpelminded Ya, but they can sure make good music.

  • @simpelminded

Nobody can dance when you're that high!

  • @simpelminded but they keep on doin it anyway lol

  • God bless Cassie Gains

  • Such a simple time without the crap we have today.

  • ♫❤♫❤♫❤♫ Ronnie Van Zant ♫❤♫❤♫❤♫

  • The 70's - men were ugly, women were beautiful, music was real.

  • Everyone in that crowd got a collective ass kicking.

  • Man, I would have hated to be Keith Richards on that day having to go out on the stage after Steve Gaines, Rossington, and Collins just played....

  • Tears of sadness. Tears of joy.

  • This is so good. Wish i was there.

Such a loss, a year later. Ronnie van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines died in a terrible aircrash.

  • 1976 I was 18, oh the memories. It doesnt get much better than this. EVERY covers band does this song. It will never die.

  • Live performances dont get much better than this....no lip synch, no autotune, no backing tracks......just talent.....

  • Here's to REAL music!

  • If Skynyrd isn't still popular, why are they in Rock Band and Guitar Hero games? lol .... I play the hell out them on GH

  • @Thebeekerham1988 and for the record, I've been listening to Skynyrd for about, oh, 35 years or so .... they will ALWAYS be popular to me

  • It was a different decade, when Lynyrd Skynyrd was packing stadiums. Man, what a decade!

  • the cameraman was in love with the chorussinger!

  • @retofit Man, I wish I was the cameraman.

  • Skynyrd was #16 on Gibson guitars 50 best rock bands of all time, should have been #1 of course...

  • yea lynyrd skynyrd is the best sweet home alamaba is the best song they ever had so all u ppl out there who think skynyrd suck ur wrong the skynyrd spirit will 4 ever live as long as us southern boys are still kickin

  • Neil Young was an honary pallbearer at Ronnie's Funeral and Sweet Home Alabama was one of his favorite songs.

Glad to find out that there were some more surviving members esp. Artimus.

  • and NEIL YOUNG IS A GOD YOU LITTLE CONFEDERATE BITCHES

  • Comment removed

  • Gary Rossington is alive, I had it wrong Sorry bout that.

  • Ala collins is alive as we speak, if ya don't beieve me, googly it;

  • @ratlrbi

allen collins died in 1990 january 23 from Pneumonia

the only ones that are alive is gary rossignton , artimus pyle , bob burns , and ed

  • I was born in the exact right time and in west Alabama, Skynyrd was revered so above other band they were in a class by themselves. On June 18 my Band Capital Steel will play an homage to the great bands of the 70/s and just guess who has more songs than anyone else Lynyrd Skynrd baby (insert rebel yell here)

  • Look at all the jorts!!! Damn I wish I was there

  • Rappers think they can diss, Skynyrd goes hard on Young! :D

  • YEAHHHHHH TURN IT UP!!!

  • From what I understand, the core of Lynyrd Skynyrd consists of Gary Rossington, Johnny Van Zant, ricky Medlock, and Micheal Carteleone(who played with Damn Yankees).

  • @bigsbz ... you're un educated fool

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting. This takes me back to 76-78 when I was a teenager in Phx Az. Nearly every weekend we would be out at a place we named cement hill on Happy Valley Rd just listening to music and getting buzzed. I think there is all houses in there now. So Gary,Mike,Don,Pinkie I love you all and still remember those wonderful years. They will stay in my heart forever. C

  • why do we never get to see the guitarists?

  • @HumanGibsonSG Cause the cameraman was infatuated with The Honkettes...can't blame him!

  • Why was I born into the era of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus? The '70s had it ALL, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, ACDC, Kiss, Def Leppard...the list goes on. Music was so much better from the '60s-'80s.

  • @Princ3ss3mily Not all of it. Only the good music endures. If you don't believe me look up some of the worse groups (Bonzo dog doodah band springs to mind)

  • @Princ3ss3mily You do realize that pop sensations like Bieber and Miley Cyrus eventually fade into obscurity right? It happened to the Backstreet Queers in the early 2000s along with Britney Spears. Granted they are still around, neither are nowhere near as popular as they were when they were the faces of pop music. Miley Cyrus' popularity has already somewhat desolved, as will Bieber's in the coming years as some other young musician will come along and appeal to the female teenage masses.

  • @TideatMileHigh You obviously misread my comment... I am NOT in any way a fan of Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. I simply said I think the music was better then, the music that hasn't faded. I said it was the era of people like them because IT IS. I was stating a fact.

  • @Princ3ss3mily I understand that you are not in anyway whatsoever a fan of them, but on every single freaking classic rock video there is always someone that rants about worthless pop sensations. My point is that you shouldn't be concerned about little wothless crap music artistis like Bieber. Pop music and rock and roll are two polar opposite types of music and IMHO rock fans shouldn't even waste their time talking about it. Cheers dude, and Skynyrd still fucking rocks!

  • @Princ3ss3mily yes it was; we had CSN (and sometimes Y), Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Jimi,Temptations, Stones, Allman Brothers, Yes, ELP, Joni Mitchell, Dylan, Derick and the Dominos, did I forget Steve Goodman, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Carlos Santana, Johns (MacLaughlin, Prine, Phillips, Lennon), Bob Marley... and lets not forget a little sweetheart named Ronstadt or 2 incredible voices from Baez and Collins. Oh yeah, there was a gentleman named Richie Havens. And... Rory Gallagher!

  • @crcausey you forgot chicago!!! dude!!! lol!! what a era !! to many bands for sure to mention on one page!! cheers

  • gotta love those long haired kids trippin out

  • yeah... totally truth... why can't we see more of this nice rock n' roll today ?

  • AMAZING

  • I could listen to this song 9 billion times and not get tired of it

  • Skynyrd is the shit. if you dont like them then get the hell out

  • I love this song and the sound here is friggin' awesome-great job-!!!more please? : D

Bet there was alot of trippers out there rockin out on some whacky stuff too.

  • Steve Gaines <3

  • man was I born at the wrong time in the wrong place...

  • @mulder157 fuck you are right dude.....me too!!!!!

  • @mulder157 Same here bro.

  • @mulder157 Me too!

  • @mulder157 same dude i wish i was born when skynyrd old band was playing

  • @mulder157 me too bro...me too ;(

  • @mulder157 YOU AINT LYING!!!!!! I am with you!

  • @MrFghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes,he was a very accomplished guitarist, singer and could play everything from gospel to speed metal. He is a rare jewel, indeed.Skynard was one of his many favorites.Thank You.

  • @MrFghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh My sympathy to you and yours.

  • @MrFghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Appreciate.

  • There will only be one Lynyrd Skynyrd band. Bless you Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Artemis, Billy, Allen, Gary, Leon, Jo Jo and Leslie.

  • @MrFghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh He was murdered.

  • This kicked my ass.

  • guernseydonkey:

It was the Stones.. I was there..It was awsome!

  • What was the gig? I went to a few at Knebworth, saw Led Zep, not Skynyrd.

They aren't the headline act. Was it the Stones that year?

  • i am sorry to say this, but i kinda like after-crash lynyrd better

  • Class of 74....... Good times, Hot Babes, Cold beer, REAL MUSIC and very very few sissy ass little liberals.

  • One thing very obvious is the camera men were totally in love with the Honkettes, especially JoJo. I heard an interview with JoJo one time and she said Ronnie teased her about what they did with the cameramen to get all the exposure.

Totally sad to see such a hot babe like Cassie and the way she died.

JoJo wasn't exactly a babe like Cassie, but she had a bad girl sexiness hard to describe.

  • @SuperDrJeckyl I guess the cameramen hate the piano player, because they don't show him at all

  • @Caveman947 but he's like one of the best in the band</3 He died last year :/ r.i.p Billy Powell

  • How sweet it is.

  • What was wrong with Ronnie? Didn't he know you have to put on a big production number with dancers, video, and glitz?

Sarcasm of course......Ronnie was Stone Cold Austin of music. Nothing fancy, just stand there and sing from the heart with one of the rockest bands in history...and the Honkettes of course.

Ronnie and these guys were artists of the highest order.

    So, so, so, so cool!!!!

  • @SuperDrJeckyl Wow very well said.,impressive, and totally true. That's what I love about Ronnie. He wasn't jumping all around. He just stood there, gave it his all and looked sexy while doing it.

  • かっこいい☆

  • think about a year from then almost all died that sucks

  • @pythonparker Only Ronnie, Steve Gaines & his sister Cassie Gains died in the plane crash. But all have died since except Gary Rossington, Artimus Pyle & Leslie Hawkins. Ed King, an earlier member of the band, is also still alive. Dean Kilpatrick, their Road Manager and the pilot and co-pilot also died in the crash.

But I agree, they were one AWESOME BAND!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lebtu Alan Collins is now the only Street Survivor. I don't know about the honkettes.

  • @ratlrbil Alan Collins died in 1991. Leslie Hawkins is the only remaining Honkette.

  • @lebtu question..which honkette is Casie Gaines

  • @boden13 she's in the middle

  • god bless the south... and skynyrd

  • Lord...When I die please send me back to the 70's to stay...

  • Great song.

  • groupies !!!

  • Billy Powell = phenomenal!

  • one of many things i missed out on. i was like 3 or 4 when the plane went down. closest i got was seeing a tribute band (granted a really awesome tribute band) at a park a couple weeks ago

  • them three girl singers are so foxy, like to go back in time and take trip with them, music aint bad either lol

  • I love this stuff... I bet Ron would be down with Ron Paul if he was here, and infowars dot com!

  • @tintlio Oh hell YES he would!!

  • I was there Aug. 21st 1976. I think Lynyrd Skynyrd was better than the Rolling Stones that day.

I remember that after they concluded their participation, it took the Stones more than 2 hours to get to the stage. Till this day I don't know why. Does anybody know why?

  • @Poklando lynyrd skynyrd was and is better from stones :D

  • wheres the roll tide roll in the chorus!?

  • Just heard jojo billingsley, the back up singer in the flower dress died of cancer. RIP

  • @kostantinos999 Well,BYE!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @kostantinos999: What is your fucking problem? Our pride is of who we are and where we come from and what we stand for. You sound as if Greece is a sample to follow. Just look at your financial problems and what your government put you in. As if Greece never fought wars. Had (have) great leaders. Hahahaha. We have no history? I suggest you hit the history books instead of advising someone else to do so. If you're not proud of your own country. GET THE FUCK OUT!!!!

  • @210acer......are you blind buddy ??? Don't you see how many people attending the concert ??? You are just a laughing boy who still plays with his dolls. THIS GROUP WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST........You know nothing about music @210acer........you probably listen to lady gaga, aren't you ???

  • Only 116995 views! This song is one of the best Rock songs ever!!!

  • It s an american flag u idiot

  • @210acer fuck u

  • No problem with the flag. My only problem is with ignorant people. I think Ronnie might have agreed.

  • If you skip forward to 5:15, the guitarist looks exactly like my brother. It also looks like his shirt, too! But my brother is only sixteen years old. He also plays guitar. ROCK ON LYNYRD SKYNYRD!

  • Cassie Gaines was smokin OMG

  • Skynyrd totally killed it in this video.

  • nice song by LYNYRD SKYNYRD great vid and song

it is chuch great song that i made a tribute vid to old good SKYNYRD:

    naruto simple man_0001.WMV

  • Steve Gaines and his sister are the shit. Did I mention Allen Collins is the shit too?

  • Can I go back to 1976? So much simpler then!

  • whod have thought how knebworth would turn out in 30 years time from then..now muse and other great bands of nowadays times play there and its sooo different :)

  • That's what the world is missing right now, Southern rock

  • @luvmycorso agreed!

  • @luvmycorso Give Drive by truckers a listen--many songs and references to Skynyrd/Ronnie.

  • Sum people were talking about who wrote this song go to the video Skynyrd band mates talk about Ronnie Van Zant and life on the road it tells you.

  • Just a couple of things 1 don't know if true or not Skynyrd startied out opening for the WHO after they were signed I do know they open for the Who(I'm not a fan of the WHO) The Who went to managment and refuse to tour with them anymore after 3 shows said they were to good and to hard to follow. 2 How of you have liked to be the parents of Steve & cassie losing both children on the same day.

  • may god always be with them kids parents always i hate it so bad also i am a fan there in my heart and love and prayers i wish u all was with us still but god has u in HIS HANDS I KNOW THIS GOD BLESS YOU ALL THANKS FOR POSTING

  • @1960dvf I have to see this verified somehow. I love this band. i love the Who. The Who ran from NOBODY live back then before Moon's death--ubeatable live till 1976 when Moon's health began declining. Just sayin......

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the stereo version!! That one channel version just wasn't hacking it.

If this doesn't capture the flavor of the song, what ever will?

  • R.I.P Ronnie

  • GAH! ONE OF THEM WAS A GYPSY!

  • yeah ramzyred, Steve's the guy playin the Fender strat and the awesome lead toward the end of the song, wearing the blue denim vest, o.k.?

  • Sweet Home Alabama! Roll Tide Roll!

  • I remember the plane crash. It was a shock. We lost a little more of our innocence that day.

  • Steve and Cassie Gaines from Miami, Oklahoma. Same town that produced Heisman winner Steve Owens and his All-American WR brother Tinker. Towns about the size of a postage stamp. If you drove through it and spat, you'd probably miss it. Town I live in is five times as big and has produced jack and squat. Go figure.

  • He muggymug, i don't care.

This is far out the best live band ever!! I think Ronny is very underestatemated. Great music.

  • This song is awesome.

  • Ronnie = cool.

It would have been interesting to see how his music would have changed through the years.

  • @muggymug i dont think it woulda changed

  • very interesting... I Guess It Was Meant To Be

  • @muggymug ronnie dosent equal cool he equals a level of coolness no one ever will be able to live up to ever

  • when u didnt have to perfect music with sound board. this is live and it sounds as good or better then album. name a band, just one that can do that today?

  • @Steven5quier just one but they are fairly old now as well and that would be rhcp. there concerts are like listening to the album

  • @Steven5quier mark knopfler and his band

  • @Steven5quier ,,,,i can't

  • @Steven5quier Mark Knopfler

  • @Steven5quier

    Motorhead :-)

  • @Steven5quier alice in chains, red hot chili peppers, incubus, deftones, etc

  • Why is there a dislike button????? 4 people need a beheading

  • @Steven5quier

Sometimes, the soundboard is not the best source for audio. As far as bootlegs go. It gets a lot of hype, but in many cases it does not represent the true sound as heard live.

  • I love JO JO , but she in to GOD now.
