really love my focus st. I can relate to what you are on about, if its damp or really tight country roads its just not worth pushing the focus to the limit because you WILL spin the thing! the power is amazing but you just cant put it down (a more experienced driver im sure could )on wet roads .A mate of mine has a 197 I never new untill he was up my arse trying to pass me on the dual carriageway where he was left behind for some time untill he was able to catch back up approaching a roundabout
This ST is fantastic, but remember it's not standard (see the description for a list of modifications). The 197 is much better on the brakes than the ST and is more composed through the corners. The 197 is pretty much standard. A standard ST is no match for a standard 197 on a twisty road, and a modified ST still struggles. The ST is faster in a straight line though because of all the extra torque the turbo brings.
ST for straights, 197 for tracks/twisty roads. I prefer the 197. :D
this Focus ST looks better (faster, stronger:D) in this film. I'm thinking of buying one of this two cars. Currently I'm driving '06 Fiesta ST and looks for some progress. Is this Focus really much faster, has better grip on curves, much more comfort? Clio RS looks better and I prefere little, non very sporty looking cars, without large bodykits with a lot of HP under the bonnet. AND Clio doesn't have turbo, so it means better charasteristic on the road.which one should I take? thanks for help!
@mumin34. dude i own 200cup and it,s a great allrounder. 35mpg all day long. and stock vs stock my clio pulls away from focus ST,s. and they nearly end up in edge bottom trying to keep up round the twisties. but with little tunning ST,s can be monsterous in a straight line and are a better family car.[ u never know what your missis is gonna tell ya ].lol but you,ll never have a driving experience like it in the clio. very similar to EP3 but more planted and sure footed.
