Love events like this. U2, four men, rugged rock, no excess, no video banks, no glittering lights, no 360 stage. Pure, just like the critics never can bring themselves to admit. U2 started out playing in grimy little places, they created their reputation in hot, cavernous, sweaty joints filled with young people who knew far more about the nature of rock than the modern day festival goer. In short, U2 are the real deal and can always scale down to prove it.

THIS is what's left - a gritty four piece band that doesn't need the pomp and video screens to prove how good they are. They are too big now to do small events as an entire tour (their fan base wouldn't tolerate it) But all of us who've grown up with them know they walk the walk and have a reputation for live performance that it unmatched in the modern era
