  • i didn't mean you personally @ MaharlikaAWA. I'm sure you're a cool guy.

  • all sociological stereotypes in any culture is what runs people minds into ignorants.

  • please! there are so many bad traits of filipinos. just like in any ethnic group. most of the caucasoids who i knew come into a filipino group and adopt their ways. making them better or worst? who knows? the caucasoids i've come in contact with just turned into big a-holes. all my friends are multicultural but rarely of them filipinos. that's another story.

  • @preciousjey Really? That is too bad. I am a caucazoid who likes you Filipino mongoloids and I am not a big a-hole.

  • most filipinos have inferiority complex. they regard american/european culture/music/language/arts above their own. here in the philippines,if you speak good english people think youre smart and cool.some companies wont even hire if you dont speak fluent english.our history tells us that we've bowed down before our conquerors, welcomed them and embraced them. now we love their language more than our own. we study it & try to perfect it.what youre saying is true and its sad.

  • God created everyone individual and every nation distinct from each other.and to my fellow countrymen, every single thing we do is a reflection of not just what we are but what our country is. :-)

  • @donabel01 Amen!!

  • i am a Filipino, i'm working at a hotel here in south of China. well, because of my job i get to meet a lot of people all over the world and got positive and negative comments about the Filipinos and the Philippines. i like this video and its true that we are embarrassed when we dont speak the right grammar but when i went here in china it doesnt matter anymore..its like ur point of view when u r inside a box is different when you are outside. anyway,

  • @donabel01 Awsome! Its great to meet other ethnicities and also relate with them and experience new stuff. That way you dont get caught in that bubble and assume white people are ignorant.

  • @MaharlikaAWA hey "bro" aren't you supposed to be gearing up for your next MMA fight?

  • @Rao665 No. I am not an MMA fighter. Are you? Also, if you have a problem with me commenting about Filipino accent mocking at least address the points I make in the video and refute them instead of making snarky comments. Maybe you are just upset a white male knows a lot about Filipino culture, maybe more so than you.

  • @MaharlikaAWA as for me being "upset" nah. Not much filipino, blood or otherwise. couldn't be upset when it doesn't pertain to me. now it might do you some good for you to follow the same train of thought: Doesn't pertain to me, don't care.

  • @Rao665 Apparently you DO care. That is why you made your comments.

  • I agree. and I think. Filipinos need mirrors.

  • I agree about most things on what you said in this video but, I don't think there's something bad on listening to RnB, copying other things and doing lip sync videos. I love learning and I learn different things from watching/listening from other things that aren't mine. Humans prospered from imitating their surroundings (Ex. planes are invented from copying the bird's ability to fly). I don't find anything wrong about Lip Sync just like I don't find anything wrong about any comedy.

  • thank you sir this is an educational video (Europinoy culture)

  • I commented on your other video, and I won't lie, I got kind of mad. But this video sparked my curiosity and I never thought of it that way. Thank you.

  • Because he is white, doesn't mean he can't understand....He obviously likes our culture and is experienced. Don't get mad. Even though I kind of disagree with him, he is trying to, in a way, help us. He is outraged. His video can apply to all types of cultures, not just ours.

  • Tama! Correct! Thanks for that eye opening video. Thumbs up white dragon

  • The reason why Filipinos mock other Filipinos is the "elitist" culture that is quite prevalent in our country. It isn't just limited to the "accent" or "twang" but the school as well. Our culture is pretty "mixed-up". We pride ourselves for being Christians and yet we mock our fellow Pinoys when we feel that they are lacking.

  • i am Pinoy and i totally agree on this video.

  • you aren't racist, and i think that you've made some perceptive observations about filipino culture. i'd like you to consider the possibility that american culture has a profoundly incredible bearing on filipino culture, so it makes sense that speaking english is a virtue, having a watch or ipod and being up on 'american trends' become status symbols. in general, status is highly valued in the philippines. in thinking deeply about this issue, realize that this self-mockery is not surprising.

  • My english is fluent. To many, I sound American. Yet I get teased about it. I've even been nicknamed worse-worse...whatever that means :)

  • @kingrocker44 - worsh worsh (sounds like that -- not actually the word worse). It just means you speak with the American twang :D I've been called that too.

  • Most of my Chinese friends still know their mandarin. Many of my Vietnamese friends still know their vietnamese. Why? Because their parents raised them in a very cultural environment where they spoke their own language.

  • Anyone can sound educated speaking in their own tongue. This is why so many filipinos who grow up in the U.S. forget their language (like me) because our parents would rather have us integrate within society as easily as possible by adapting to the american lifestyle instead of reiterating filipino traditions.

  • I dislike the fact that society in the philippines praises those who can speak english well above those who cannot, calling them uneducated and other demeaning words. I wish I was fluent. If I were to visit the islands, I'd be showing off my tagalog/ilocano, not my english.

  • This is exactly how i've felt about my fellow filipino americans here in the U.S. I'm saddened that I lost my native tongue of Ilocano because learning english was regarded as "more important." growing up, I picked up Tagalog from my relatives/friends and watching TFC. And I'm still trying to re-educate myself on the filipino language.

  • It probably stems from the fact that English is a medium of instruction in the Philippines. This applies for education and for business where higher education and most managerial positions will require a proficiency in both written and oral English. So, whether in some conscious or subliminal level, the ability to speak English well in our country connotes a certain degree of social attainment, and probably why a lot of this mocking is prevalent in our country.

  • @raregem06 You seem to be upset that outsiders assume filipinos could be backward people whos uck at speaking. But then you say, "and people pay for the consequences for what they do. so when they mock filipinos just because they saw we do it, not my problem." Then you call them immature and racist. You are contradicting yourself. Either it doesnot matter and you dont care or you actually do care. Then you admit you pay for your own consequences.

  • @raregem06 So then why is it shocking that people think that people think filipinos are stupid?

  • you are right... im a filipino but if somebody mess up with my accent im gonna kick his ass even ih he or she is filipino...

  • Comment removed

  • @raregem06 That is hypocrisy. If you make fun of yourself and call yourself something I will only agree with it and it is my right to do so. So when anyone mocks filipinos its only because thety observed them disrespecting themselves. Dont you understand the negativity you bring upon yourselves to the outsiders? And then to bite them back just because they only agreed with you only makes filipinos look worse.

  • Comment removed

  • @raregem06 Wow that is pretty bad. What if someone speaks only english but doesnt speak tagalog are they still seen as great or do they suck?

  • Most of the people here on YouTube that make fun of the Filipino accent are merely children teenagers!! And we know how immature a lot of teenagers can be.

There is one person on YouTube that has become very famous with his Filipino accent tutorial, look at Mikey Bustos. His videos are great and people both Filipino and American love him

  • yup what you say is really true....I am Filipino that was raised in Philippines but I was able to go to a good school and I learned English, now I am in America, I was able to use it. It is sad but not only other Filipinos mock our accent, also other culture too..It is so sad, accent is a beautiful thing, and it makes us realize that variety is good...if everybody speaks the same accent it will be so boring...right?

  • @8318Psalms YA it would be boring. And you know the other cultures mock your accent and you bring it upon yourselves and then get offended when people make fun of it. makes no sense.

  • @MaharlikaAWA exclude me, I love the accent and I am not one of the Filipinos that mock our own, I take pride of our culture but it is sad that some Filipinos doesn't instead mock their own..I believe you mentioned in your video that not all Filipinos do it and I am one of them...

  • @MaharlikaAWA you won't understand it because you're white. just stop trying. There's no secret. We like to make fun of alot of silly thing. We're not trying to create a culture that conveys intelligence and perfection to other races. We're just expressing ourselves within our culture, having fun, loving our awesome asian mothers, and we could care less how other people see it.

  • @ChrissyCrum You are racist and ignorant.

  • @ChrissyCrum Right below you someone wrote "Tama! Correct! Thanks for that eye opening video. Thumbs up white dragon" now what do you have to say about your fellow ethnic sisters and brothers who understand what i am getting at and support my conclusions? Obviously you are the minority and a maarte jerk.

  • I feel you man! :/ It's really sad. I'm filipina and I'am so not racist. But filipinos expect me to love everything about them. But I don't care if they'll hate me or not somebody really needs to be honest about them. And thank you! I got a sister in the Philippines and she only speak with my mom cus she feels embarrass talking in english. My mom didn't even realize how racist filipinos are when she got in US.

  • I'm filipina and I totally agree with you. I salute you for making this video. This is why I stay in America cus people there thinks they better than everybody else. I love Philippines and I think the people there are so nice but they don't realize how racist they are. They talk too much about black people and they praise white guys. I feel so bad about it cus I'm filipino.

  • @bubumy15 Hey thanks a lot for the comment! Ive found that more often FilAms are racist too, but then again many filipinos I met in life were racist but they wernt like totally hardcore racists just made jokes a lot. Whats funny is in Pasig this girl from a rich family was telling me she was fascinated with african americans and thinks they are so cool.

  • jeez couldnt understand cuz of the music.. nvm

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! you pointed out exactly what the Filipino problem is. im going to share this and spread as much as i can. i hope you continue helping Filipinos realize their mistake and make them change it. again, THANK YOU! MARAMING SALAMAT!

  • @suzushii2008 WOOO!!! I am so glad you get it!! Please post this on message boards and all over facebook and twitter. Thank you man and I hope that you will be encouraged to be who you are and embrace it. Try your best and go with it! Go with God and let Him guide you.

Too many people miss the point of my videos and go on and on about how white people shouldnt talk and that its just a joke and Chinese people do it too. Whatever is what I say! Look how it makes you come off to foreigners!

  • @suzushii2008 And Merry Christmas!!

  • *nonsense*

  • @jonteves no i just like to take out the trash and leave my comments looking filth free.

  • what is with the background music??

  • @juliusnina Read the description!!!!

Whats with anyones background music? Everyone has it, i added music that sounded really low before I uploaded it but on youtube uit was loud. My mistake all the lyrics had to do with being white. Dont complain.

  • I do agree with you..

  • thanks for caring-from the philippines

  • definitely true. i am guilty as well. i just hope that every Filipino realizes this. our culture is very rich and we should love our own.

  • As a Filipino, I have to say that I hate the fact that most Filipinos looking down to other Filipinos who cannot speak or pronounce English well. It is just a language.. And I have to say.. English here in the Philippines is also used as a stereotype for a logically smart person.. it sucks and it has to stop. It is just a language. On the other side, English has been taught here since the beginning of education. If you made a mistake and you are a Filipino, it is embarrassing.

  • Very well said. (: -3 *clap clap*

  • @MaharlikaAWA: I agree wif u all e way bro...Filipino degrading their own people..

What a shame...n call it a joke... Totally idiot

  • wow! coming from an american, that's very insightful, honest & sincere. i agree, sometimes it can be funny but the degree that filipinos do it is too much, it degrades the people & what hurts, it's fellow filipinos that do it. i also detest the word fob or flip, how can these filams call their own people from their own land these derogatory words?

  • Thanks for posting your videos. I was born in the Phil. and when I was 18 yrs. old I move to the USA and lived for 38 yrs. Now I'm back here in Manila since 2008. To me your observation about filipinos regarding this video is correct and i agree w/ you!

  • @mitchmorala Thats great thanks a lot! Its good to hear an adult who knows a lot respond to my video. I am tired of immature teenagers saying things like "Youd ont understand your white, we just like to have fun its ok blah blah."

  • What you are talking about is true for most cultures. Latinos do the same thing. If you are in a place were most of these Latinos speak English and there is one that does not speak it correctly, these Latinos try to skin you alive. If you are in a crowd where they speak Spanish only, they make fun of you and try to skin you alive as well. They will tell you that i my case, I am so dark and Mexican looking that I look ridiculous speaking English.

  • @sweetlie100 : U r an asshole too who doesnt noe english...Mahalikawa is sided wif pinoy n u r trying to fuck him? Tats y e whole world look down pinoy all bcos of person like u...stupid fuckin arrogant asshole..Frankly,im frm singapore n most of

Singaporean dislike pinoy, bcos of fucking arrogant..tis pinoy forget tat they come frm stupid corrupted country.Tats a fact!

  • first of all i dont speak tagalog.. and i live in spain.. every vacation i go to the phil. and if you think filipino are jerks and poor people why you keep coming there.. i know philippines is not a good country but there a life in there.. thats why im always there.. and if they are jerks about english.. then look at urself the way you speak theyre language isn't look like a jerk?? thats why i dont force my self to speak english or tagalog... if you think its funny ur also funny.. thats enoug

  • @tpgangz You know what? I dont even think you watched my video. You just skimmed some and made up an assumption of what my video is about and got offended for no reason. You also have a terrible undrstanding of english when it is spoken. Becuase you seem to have missed the entire point of my video. If you dont understand english well dont make comments on a video that uses english. You have absolutely no clue what my video is talking about.

  • @MaharlikaAWA thats why im saying sorry!!!

  • @tpgangz All right then. If you watched this video you would know I support filipinos. Also dont call my videos crap.

  • It is funny how this guy claimed to be a "non-racist" despite emphasising in numerous instances that he's "not Filipino, I am WHITE". He could have called himself as a "non-FIlipino" in this video to avoid the "white/nonwhite" dichotomy. Furthermore, he called the coloured men as "blacks". If you do not wish to be aligned to the racist group, please select the terms you employ in your videos where "racism" can be an issue. Just a thought.

  • @bootyxs You are a politically correct idiot. You just didn't like the truth in my video. Go cry me a river you pansy. I AM WHITE AND PROUD!!! AND I LOVE FILIPINOS! AND I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE! Get over it brown ethnic person.

  • dude slow down with the BG music next time. i can hardly hear what you are talking.

  • @soushi8 I have already mentioned this 100 times to everyone. It didnt sound loud when I made the video but when it uploaded it was super loud. Now get over it.

  • @MaharlikaAWA how the heck should i know that you mentioned it 100 times already. If i knew i woudln't mention anything about it. now YOU get over it.

Thumbs up so he WILL get over it ppl complaing about the BG music.

  • @soushi8 I am already over it. Are you?

  • you know what is wrong??? your not a filipino not even a half.. im a half filipino half spanish.. and dude you dont have the right, YES, YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT to talk and publish about my country.. why dont you mind your own life.. you dont know how to be a filipino.. thats why you can say all this stuff. grrr...

even i was born and growing old in spain.. in my heart im 100% filipino.. i love the way being a filipino.. and you dont know how important english in this country....Eres tonto

  • @tpgangz Your fully of crap and your an ignorant moron. I have every right to make comments, publish about filipinos, and expres my opinion about how stupid filipinos come off to foreigners who behave the way im talking about in this video. If you dont like it TOUGH!! And you are not 100% Filipino even if you want to fantisize you are becuase your a half breed! And I know every bit about how important English is in the Philippines thats why i made this video. DUH!

  • @tpgangz If you claim by having 0% filipino blood in me I am 0% qualified to speak about Filipino cultural topics, then you are only 50% qualified to speak about it. So maybe you should still shut the heck up and go read a book and get a clue you overly defensive baby. Filipinos who mock struggling flipinos accents when they speak english are completely maarte pricks. If you do that then I think you are a maarte prick. And using the word FOB is for trendy fools who hate their own people.

  • @MaharlikaAWA i went to your channel recently and almost all of your video talks about the philippines .. why? and i like some of your video but this one is crap....

  • @tpgangz Because I want my videos to almost all be about the Philippines. Thats why. Also I think your comment is crap. So please do me a favor and shut the hell up.

  • @MaharlikaAWA hahaha dude dont too much highblood... then, so sorry...i just only give my comments dude!!! thats how i loved philippines... PEACE ^_^

  • @tpgangz and more thing!!! if someone commented on your video... why reply??just dont reply and yes you have a freedom to express your feelings and we also have a freedom to comments ... you replying for an arguments?? thats all dude and im so sorry...

  • Pacquiao is truly our champ!!! Proud to be a Filipino!!! Mabuhay!

  • @warcrymagic Apparently he is not your champ. He is a hardcore Catholic and in no way would he ever believe the INC doctrine you worship. Seriously are all INC people this illogical?

  • @lkatxo7 So I am going to form my own opinion as a white person and not give a crap about what Filipinos think about it. I find your excessive accent mocking absolutely stupid and plain annoying as well as degrading. Sometimes accent jokes are funy and I laugh but most of the time Filipinos do it beause they think they are supposed to hate the accent and want to sound "sophisticated" like western culture. It is a plague your culture needs to kill.

  • @lkatxo7 Uhh no? Ive met plenty of chinese or malaysian types of people who speak english with a heavy accent and are very proud of their english speaking abilities. They are not embarassed at all nor do they mock their fellow people who speak english with an accent. And spending time in the philippines as well as having Filipino friends gives me a heavy insight on how Filipino culture acts. Telling me I have no right simply because im not filipino is ignorant.

  • Go Fuck your self ........At least they speak english its not enough? you want them to copy your hip hop gay accent ? go do some thing its crisis in usa , find some money to survive mother fucker u look like plumber guy

  • @3131561 You are an idiot. If you actually watched this video you would understand what I am saying and that I support Filipinos speaking english you twerp. And my accent isnt even close to hip hop, and if you think hip hop is gay tell that to the marge majority of Filipinos who listen to it and try to talk hip hop and gay. Do you relaize how idiotic you made yourself sound? How about apologizing and actually watching this video. Also with my music its obvious im not hip hop.

  • napakamalas naman ng pamilya ng taong ito nagkaroon sila ng kapamilyang mayabang..i wonder what kind of discipline did the parents of this man empose to him when he was younger..if i were his parents i'd be disappointed..ill throw him out i dont need a son like this..so arrogant...man if i were your parents i wont show my face in public my son is so shameful..

  • @nonegs What the heck are you talking about? Did you even watch this video? Seriously get a clue.

  • ya right, ya right, ya right!.. I know its wrong to make fun on ur own accent but I understand why some of them are making fun out of it. They doing that accent as a joke and not to offend other Filipinos. ^_^ v

  • i agree with you. im a filipino too but i dont pretend to be good at english. i just apply what ive learned from kindergarten to high school. i know some who still do that 'accent mocking' and its annoying for me. with regards to originality, i agree with that too. a lot of artists make so many song remakes from international artists over and over again. no originality at all unlike those koreans or japanese people who love to sing their songs in their native language. =[

  • I totally agree with you dude....sad to say but majority of Filipinos are like that.We pretend to be very good at english. And make fun of those who commits wrong grammar and wrong accents.I admit , that I am not so good in english , simply because I am a Filipino, and I love my native language.

  • Hi there, I can just say WOW, You pay a lot of attention to details! I admire you for that. I am Filipino, and must admit that it's such a Bad Culture that we have with regards to speaking the english language. Plus, it's something that I am very very guilty of. Everytime I speak english, I always do it so naturally, without mocking accents, True enough, it's disgusting. Thanks for this Video. Highly appreciated. :P

  • @bleyeyey Thanks a lot for understanding where I am comming from. Lots of ignorant Filipinos like to bash on me for taking an interest in their culture I think they feel jelous that I understand a lot and care and they feel guilty because I am right.

  • hi! I got some of the points you wanted to clarify. i know you just wanted to justify the behaviors of my fellow citizens. I understand that you've been to my country for about six months right? or six days? sorry i wasn't able to clearly hear it. your vacation is too short you should have stayed here for almost five years or more and try to live with each of the communities strata. I heard that you also studied something like ethic differences? or something?

  • Respond to this video... i think part of your studies before or now are the ways on how you should comment of criticize somebodies culture. And one of that is to criticize it according to the way the culture you observed criticize the issue you have raised. the way you view things here is not on the way we Filipinos view it. you even tried to differentiate and compare the types of Filipinos native born and those born in other countries.

  • Respond to this video... I would like to remind you and do please read some of the issues about nature vs. nurture for it will give you a clear idea why we differ from each other though we are all Filipinos. You also mentioned about history, please be guided and please do further reading on How those colonizers changed Filipinos the way you see us now. And read books that were written by Filipino authors for you'll be able to see through Filipinos perspective and not on others view.

  • @sweetlie100 I am not sure what you are trying to tell me. Im not so filipino obsessed I need to read filipino authors etc...i have no real interest in that unless the story is the book is about something interesting to me. I did read Chapters In Filipino Church History which was by Filipinos though. Also I know a lot about why flilipinos act the way they do and every filipino has their own idea. One says "We hate accent mockers" another says "Its all in good fun and not mean" so whatever.

  • @MaharlikaAWA if your are not that obsessed then why are your sticking to much on this issue? further more reading those books written by our authors here will make you more aware of what Filipinos are. the reason why your mind is so biased can be traced here ".i have no real interest in that unless the story is the book is about something interesting to me. I did read Chapters In Filipino Church History which was by Filipinos though." your mind is too contained to those topic."

  • @sweetlie100 Wow great false assumtion. Stop using logical fallacies to make points. I dont need to read a specific filipino author to get their biased opinion about something. Thats like me saying you need to read every single one of Gleen Beck's books in order to understand what it is to be an American. get a clue. And there are all kinds of experiential learning one can do to learn about a topic.

  • its not an assumption. that's the reason why you're too contained to such thought. you're rejecting other peoples view to such a point that you're making yourself righteous on such topic. you're view is too focused on the other side of the fence. to tell you their is a need for you to read and learn more on our culture and everything that we have. Even me a pure FILIPINO is not that educated to who we are fully. There is no need for you to read such book for you've been in that land.

  • right now and i think if you're a migrant in that place there's is really a need for you to read SUCH book i guess to fully understand what really is an american. you weren't able yo get the clue, I get the clue. Experimental learning is full of trial and error stuffs. Get it? that what you did in commenting something about FILIPINO accent. You dont even have the right to do such thing cause you're not in the authority to do such act. Furhermore you dont know us FILIPINOS fully.

  • @sweetlie100 I do oo have authority to make a video like this and I know enough to make such a video. Get over yourself.

  • A six weeks stay will not guarantee you in learning a lot from us. Remember we Filipinos in the Philippines is different from Filipinos their in your place a that's a fact though most of the times when a certain Filipino living in your lace excel into something FILIPINOS in general take the pride of such honor. BUT i hope you are aware of nature vs. nurture issue. do read it to understand what i mean.

  • I do hope that the thought is Filipino try to read the book on History of the Filipino People by Teodoro Agoncillo. You'll know what Filipinos are and your questions will be answered. Some Filipino authors are biased too, if you read something try to learn more of who wrote it and on what side they are on.

  • @sweetlie100 I dont need to read a particular book when there are tons of history books written by all kinds of people that explain the basic history of the Philippines and help me understand what they are. My questions are already answered pretty much by the hundreds of comments ive been left. The point is outsiders view the excessive accent mockers as rediculous and only will embrace racist stereotypes brought upon by filipinos themselves. Dont get mad at whites when we make fun of you then.

  • ah reall? so i guess you have't digested all the facts and figures written by them. I won't get mad with white people as long as they deserve to make fun against us of course you're not qualifies for that. See people has different view. The marrow here is that the way you delivered you're message in your self made video (of course it's self made) is that you made some flaws let me give you an example based on the information that you share regarding your lineage you came from a "German" family

  • right? i dont like to offend all the Germans okay? let me just mention a portion in History where Germany as well as its people is very known that was during world war II i think you are familiar with Hitler right? what if based in what he have done to the JEWS im going to call all GERMANS including those who have a blood linking to that race a racist, stereotypes and whole lot more of not so good adjectives. will you be happy? will you be silent? I guess you wont right?

  • @sweetlie100 What you are committing is a false analogy. This is a logical fallacy. I never said ALL filipinos do what im talking about in this video. So you alking about offending germans and comparing it to my video is not even close to accurate.

  • you've made nice and great observation at FILIPINOS from the different economic level but you have't learn from it. remember when you asked someone but when you she wasn't able to pronounce the words well because you asked her what does she mean by her response? you're approach is not good. you should have asked her to repeat the words she just uttered that would make sense though and it's a bit polite. We Filipinos love to be silent but when oppressed we do all the necessary things

  • to make that somebody silent except doing something harmful to others. I hope you know whose that person who silence Magellan.

  • @sweetlie100 If you want my respect I will give you the respect that you as a filipino give your own race. I will treat filipinos the way they treat themselves. If they go around saying filipino accents are stupid and act like ignoramuses then ill agree with you and say you are stupid. But if you respect your cultural heritage and people from the Philippines I will then respect you as a Filipino. You degrade yourself and your people? Ill degrade you with it. Filipinos need to make up their minds

  • Comment removed

  • I'm saying this on behalf of every Filipino who may think that you're basically...wrong. Let's just say that the Filipinos that you are talking about make up about 80% of our population. But I'll tell you this, the 20% is entirely different. It's just that...most Filipinos have this inferiority complex. Whenever a foreigner asks them for directions, they fluster and get all fidgety and probably even think to themselves "OMG OMG a foreigner is talking with me, this is sooo cool!"

  • @pshangichem haha! That is funny!! They were in awe of me while I was there and many girls ran away or giggled and hid their faces. Weird because many think they are ugly but they arnt.

  • @MaharlikaAWA But yeah, I must admit I have that tendency at times, Like when a foreigner is speaking a perfectly good english talks to me, I just blush, stutter, and makes me want to hide and just run away! haha XD But most of the time I just stay there of course, hiding my shyness and all, and trying my best to talk, but just wishing the conversation could end. Haha :)

  • just curious, what is your connection to filipinos? am filipino, born in the philippines but grew up here in the US and I could relate.

  • that's the thing that's missing...the love for one's own country

  • I feel so guilty. :| Personally, I used to laugh at Filipinos mispronouncing words. Somehow, I realized how foul, and ignorant it is to laugh, and make that person less confident. I mean, if I hear a Japanese person trying to speak English and fails to do so, I would just see it as something normal. BUT when a Filipino does the same thing it's different. It's more of an Elitism issue, and how Filipinos would like to think that speaking better English makes them 'higher' than others.

  • @tong3pakitongkitong Hey brother I am really glad ou are changing and growing as a person. Be there to help your struggling filipinos wh are learning english. Thats what i would do I love helping foreigners speak english.

  • @MaharlikaAWA haha.. I'm a sister. lol. Thanks. Though, I think more important than teaching them English, is empowering them to be proud of their roots. :)

  • @tong3pakitongkitong Cool! yeah thats great! Do you live in manila?

  • @MaharlikaAWA Yup, I live in Manila. :)

  • @tong3pakitongkitong Nice. Ive been there. Cool city!

  • @MaharlikaAWA Well, not exactly Manila, more of Metro Manila. haha. Manila is a cool city, it has a lot of history in it. Have you been to Intramuros? I just love how you can see the depth of Philippine culture in such a small place.

  • @tong3pakitongkitong I was around Metro Manila a lot. I never went to that place you mentioned. Metro Manila is large and its cool.

  • @MaharlikaAWA There are a lot of reasons, and my logic goes like this:

    1. Most native Filipinos grow up learning English as a school subject, but just because they know proper grammar, syntax whatnots, does not mean they'll know how to enunciate the words. Moreso, they do not speak English in a normal conversation, thus limiting the way they teach themselves how to enunciate words correctly.

    2. Most native Filipinos are brainwashed to think that everything American is the best, including accents

  • @iamkeisler so true...Specially eating mini hotdog for dinner..like WTF

  • @iamkeisler However, in other cases, some Filipinos perceive being unable to speak English properly as 'Jeje'/'Jologs' WHICH is elitist. and sad. :|

  • In the end, I would just like to say that were human beings, and laughing at our own accents is just as natural as any other ethnicity laughing at some peculiar, odd culture that they have.I can not police every Filipino to stop, because it's not in my place to.There would always be people who will do it to degrade someone, and there would be people who will do it because it's simply fun.

Hopefully you are not confused at making fun at accents and heritage, because it gets a little intertwined here.

  • youre background music is a wee bit distracting in the beginning, but thats beside the point... everything you touched on is completely true... i would have to say that filipinos are the most egotistical, hypocritical, braggy (im running out of adjectives to use) people in the world... at pinoy ako... i think i may have commented on something like this before in the past, but its a status thing... they think that juss coz they speak it well, theyre better than you... it pisses me off sometimes..

  • but i have to kinda disagree with you on 1 thing. the part around 10:50 when you started talking about the educated ones... THEYRE THE WORSE!!!! yes, they have a degree and yes they have a wider range when it comes to vocabulary, but that doesnt make them better than anyone. they like to use those to put others down. akala nila kung sino sila. they like to say alot of shit on writing, but when youre face to face with them, they can barely form a proper sentence. fucking hypocrites...

  • sorry, i got a little personal up there... got carried away... pero since im in the mood to rant, ill juss go on. THIS GOES OUT TO ALL YOU FILIPINO NURSES!!!! halos lahat kayo, lumalaki ulo... stay grounded... stay level headed... dont let the amount of money you make change the way you look at other "unfortunate" people... im not hating... juss keeping things real and yall know what im talking about...

  • @juicyclamlover You tell them man!

  • @juicyclamlover The music was supposed to be way lower volume it was on my computer but when I uploaded it it was loud. sooo oh well!!

  • you really got the point maharlikaAWA, most of us Filipinos are really scared to speak in English in front of our fellow country men, scared that they will laugh when wrong words has been said, it's actually not a good manner's in our side, and because of that most of us can't speak the right English, and I say dear fellow country men we need to practice speaking English so that we can say it in a way we don't look and sound stupid, we could at least make them stop making fun of us...

  • @1845willy Some people are just so arrogant and ignorant that they will never stop making fun of you no matter how good you speak english. Also many filipinos with accents speak really good english but just have an accent but any American can understand them well. Yet some people still make fun of you. Its sad just be strong.

  • @1845willy that's what happens in a call center. the accent doesn't matter... the point is that we can communicate effectively with anyone in English.

  • I think it's more about doing it right, maybe a bit about Americans being first world, but I guess it's more about not being able to doing things right that's what Filipino's are afraid of or any person. I would feel embarrassed if I pronounced a mandarin character the wrong way while speaking to a Chinese just the same as I would feel embarrassed opening a door the wrong way. or some sort.

  • Gotta hand it to you, Andrew.. . .never thought I would say this but you brought up some excellent points. Shed some light to the same questions I've been asking myself as a Fil-Am and a First generation Filipina. Glad that you got the opportunity to see the "Motherland" and that you're carrying all that wonderful knowledge from Biola into the world. :-)

    Keep it up.

  • @BitzNbaublez Yeah thanks a lot. I wish you crazy Biola ethnic kids would have understood me better and what I was really about instead of the skewed misrepresentations. but thanks for the compliment and have a great day.

  • @BitzNbaublez Give me a thumbs up.

  • very observant... it was so fun watching ur videos...thanks.

  • @camz0319 Thanks. Keep watching and enjoy all of my videos! Give me a thumbs up!

  • You're so fucking idiot. I wanna fuck your ass so hard. You make my cock freaking so hard, that I wont stop until it bleeds.
