Police did nothing wrong here...Police had all the rights to check anything even without warrant in the street as we are in public area where police dont need warrant for it. Warrant is only issued when police needed to raid or check private sectors such as private land, home, office etc. But in street, police has the rights. Since when there is rules saying that we can push police and police cant take action?
