  • K-Var is importing them now so you can still get them!

  • Sig knock offs

  • The real gun name is Crvena Zastava 99 originally designed in Yugoslavia but still being made by Serbia, great gun, originally made for Lefties (left Handers) low recoil, hits where u point it.

  • Bud's has the EZ9 for $418 with free shipping as of dec 23rd 2011

  • alloy frame? no thanks...it would have to be sub $300 for me to consider it...

  • I love the look of this pistol. I wouldn't mind shooting one.

  • These are getting awfully expensive: to the point that they really aren't worth buying anymore. They're as expensive now as the Glocks and M&P's.

  • @Immortal91Technique .....I know the price was excellent for what you are getting.

But EAA stopped importing them about 6 months ago, so that must be why they are going up in price.

  • @venturahwy76

That's a real shame, because I would love to own one, but I can't justify spending almost $500 on one. But if they ever go back to the $300-$350 range again, I'll buy two.

  • @Immortal91Technique ....I hear ya for $500 you may be able to get a used Sig.

  • @Immortal91Technique In Serbia,they cost around 400 euros.

  • @Immortal91Technique I don't get it...if the gun is good, why should you still only have to pay the minimum possible bargain price, instead of a price that seems appropriate to the quality of the gun, a price there is nothing wrong with? In what categories could a used Sig (or whatever) be better that it would unjustify the purchase of this gun?

  • @JohnnyBoy501

Because if they were originally selling the pistol for $150-$200 less than what they're asking now, I'm not going to pay that difference. The EZ9 is a reliable, functional weapon, but it's roughly made, and I don't get the pride of ownership that I would get with something like a Sig, which I can find used for not much more.

Not saying it's a bad weapon, but I know what it's worth, and I'm not going to pay out the ass for it for no reason.

  • @Immortal91Technique Well I think if something is of good quality, has good usability (lever with two functions etc) and I would be satisfied with it, I don't see it as "paying out of my ass" if its still half of what a comparable product costs. Pride of ownership is a ridiculous concept, the only pride of ownership I take is when I buy something good and am satisfied with it, not with some name on the product. Im from Germany and Sig is just a manufacturer like every other.

  • @JohnnyBoy501

To each his own. But I refuse to pay double for it just because they've briefly stopped importation.

  • @Immortal91Technique ...cheaper than dirt has some at about $375, get one while you can!

  • @Immortal91Technique this gun is made in my country so I don't have to worry about shipping :D

  • @MadProductionsink

    Luckyyyyyy!

  • @Immortal91Technique but i am not old enought to buy one :(

  • I remember now,I had a 1991 "Soldier of Fortune" Magazine that had a 2 page article review on this pistol from Serbia.

  • @TheXtro101

1991 they call CZ99 and importer was USA BRNO inc. from Rocky River Ohio.. i have one in .40S&W cal. My father bay this gun i think 1991, i fired more then 40000 rounds, and still is accurate like he was new...

  • I like this pistol. I want to get one. Though, it sucks that it only comes with one mag. Nice sights.

  • @Loquaciousgamer You can use Beretta Mags, you only need to cut out a small release hole. There's an explanation if you google.

  • how much $ is one of those

  • @UnrealTournamentSERB ...I paid about $350 a few years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • This is my service weapon for security

  • Ive neve heard of this pistol but man it looks like a sig 226....Looks real nice Im gonna have to pick one up if I can find one

  • @ciconcrete You can find them at gungroker(dot)com, I got my there too and love it...even my cousin want to buy one and he was looking at XD's...after shooting EZ9 and a couple of XD's and a Berreta PX4 he decided to get EZ9, we both shoot ez9 the best.you wont regret it.

  • @rajvosa71000 I meant Gunbroker(dot)com lol

  • i got an ez 9 one of my favorites, excellent gun!!! SRB!

  • Can you get any grips or sights for this gun?

  • CZ99 - Crvena Zastava 99 - Red Flag 99

  • is this comparable to the smith&wesson m&p 9 mm better or worse

  • @switchskate7 .....I have not handled a M&P so I can't say whether I would like one over the other. The M&P differs that it has the changable backstraps and you can get a safety if that is somthing you like. the best thing is to find a gun shop that has both and compare them in person. Both will be reliable and shoot nicely.

  • @venturahwy76 thank you

  • @link9088bought the EZ9 from my local gun dealer

  • Official Zastava arms website :

    zastava-arms.co.rs

    Serbian and English language.

  • @888HOBAK Thank You I added that to the video links......What an amazing history that company has. I highly recommend everyone check out their official web site.

  • No problem friend.

And for those who are not familiar with this model, this is a high quality weapon. This is successor of popular model CZ 99, CZ 999. It is robust, durable, reliable, accurate and long lasting weapon with great price. Who knows CZ 99 (proven and tested in combat in all weather conditions) knows what I mean.

    Greetings from Serbia ;)

    @venturahwy76

  • @venturahwy76 They originally made cannons as they were a cannon foundry in war against the turks.

  • There's no comparison to the Taurus, The CZ 99 is a non stop work horse, the Taurus is a weapon not to be fired at full duty. The CZ99 or 999 is a 100 % duty weapon.

  • A great weapon. I used one in training back in the early 90's at the academy . I fired over 500 rds a day for 3 weeks without a problem. Back then the only problem was finding a holster to fit due to the width frame.

  • how much did it costed you???

  • @EKAMITHS1 $350 Dollars+Taxes and transfer fee.

  • @venturahwy76 Is it hard to find extra magazinesor high caps?

  • @federalwarhawk .....no...check R&R arms

  • @venturahwy76 this thing is very very similair to a sig p226 wow

  • SRBIJA !!!

  • whats the legal age to buy a gun. legally

  • @TheNica1995 In the US? You have to be at least 18 to purchase shotguns, rifles, assault rifles. But you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun.

  • LOL Just bought 1 at an area gun shop wasnt planning on buying 1 but when I saw the price i almost fell over 349 dollars got 4 extra mags 30 a peice with transfer fee and tax like 550 bucks cant wait to shoot it.

  • how much is the price of this pistole in euro ? thank you

  • Oh yes,as a best confirmation of quality, check out Zastava TOP XX and Zastava 45. Auto handguns.Sadly, they never got in big production, but they're very quality weapons, and with very nice finish

  • fired it X times, and I can say that this is a nice piece.Barrel life is 30.000 bullets, but that's what guarantee covers,it can fire lot more.Only bad thing I can say is that shooters with small hand can't use it smoothly, and weight is big...But,quality gun,you won't be wrong if you take one

  • Barrel life?

  • @psifactor12 Not sure what the barrel life is, I have heard of over 30,000 rounds but I don't know of anyone personlly wearing out a barrel in a EZ9.

  • @venturahwy76 barrel for CZ99 is made of the same steel which is used for barrel of machine gun M-84 7,62mm [yugoslav version of russian PKT] ; ) strong enough...

  • @venturahwy76

The gun can be fired over 100,000 rounds ..... ( barrel also :-) !

  • This is SERBIAN BITCHS.....KOSOVO SRBIJA DA IM SA CZ-OM JEBEMO KEVE !

  • It's not only the best pistol for this money,it's reliable in any situation and it's a simple, strong and most durable weapon. Beside it's cheap. Those who want a pretty and smooth final finish, they shouldn't buy this gun. This gun is rough and it's best in what is ment for-shooting.

  • @milomirful

And trust, me, it's a pure combat gun.. you can drop it in a mud and it will still protect you.. Trust me on that one, I know.

  • OMG i hate when americans cant say Serbian words >:( !!!

  • @GENdandyboy Serbian isn't taught in America.

  • @esh325 One of the best pronunciation of Zastava (without attempting an imitation of Russian).. Much better than nutnfancy on Zastava Z5.

  • Greatings from Serbia! This is one of the finest reviewes!Wellcome to Serbia!

  • @7sense100 Thanks Buddy....Serbia makes some great guns!

  • @venturahwy76 thats a beauty right there man, keep it up

  • @7sense100 you spelled "greetings" wrong

  • I don`t know if you know this but CZ99 was tested for adoption by New York Police Department. Reportedly it was best among the tested weapons and was to be imported and licensed for parts production in US but as Yugoslavia started disintegrating it was dropped.

Others say that the initial shipment had defective clip design which could jam if you knock it hard enough.

Same people say that you can sometimes see CZ99 in holsters of higher officers of NYPD since initial shipment stayed there.

  • @TintorDalibor That is some interesting info...thanks

  • as a SERB i had to get this gun, picking it up from my dealer this week paid only 323$!!

  • do you know of any magazine makers that make them for these outside of EAA factory?

  • @ayres390 I do not know of any aftermarket magazines for the EZ9. But You can get factory mags for $23 at R&R arms. When they have them they sell out fast!

  • /watch?v=_bm-Gp1fBTw

This is new assault rifle from Zastava M21 (direct from AK-47 yugo as you guys know it)

  • How would you describe the thickness of the grip? I've read a lot of reviews where people are saying that the gun is really thick, maybe even thicker than a Sig 226. Could this be a problem for people with small hands?

  • @BrownsCustomGrips I wear large/Xlarge gloves, so he grip thickness seems ok to me.....if you have small hands then it may be to thick. The best thing is find a gun shop that has one in stock and try it out. I have never handled a 226 so I can not say how it would compare, but in part 2 I show how thick the grip is with calipers.

  • This is a great gun. I fired it last week and it's awesome. Definitely will get one.

  • I owned a SIG P226 and I have the TZ-99 and I sold the SIG but kept the TZ. They were indentical shooters in my opinon...one just cost more but mine was a German LE trade-in. I'm ordering a Zastava .40cal..it's just an awesome design that's reliable in all situations.

  • How does the trigger on this compare to the P226? Reset distance, crispness, etc. You dont own a sig p226 do you?

  • @migkillertwo The single action trigger on the EZ9 is excellent...Double action it is heavier than I would like but smooth.

    Nope don't own a sig so I can't comment.

  • It looks so much like a Sig, but I guess you get that a lot.

  • @TheMedievalMan

Yeah, chief designer never hide that his "role model" was a sig. But everything else is engineered and produced in Zastava, so this gun is not a copy or a clone.. It just looks like a SIG, but in fact it's a different gun all in all..

  • @HondaMugen81 Everything is inspired and "copied" off something else. As long as it doesnt infringe on any patents and the design is a good copy. Looks interesting though, but Im sure it must be a pain in the ass to try and find accessories for it.

  • @TheMedievalMan

Well am originaly from Serbia mate, so here it's not really such a problem, but I guess you're from the States and that can be a pain in the ass.. Maybe you should look is there a company that imports/produces accessories for EZ9? Original name is CZ99 so maybe you could find the accessories based on that name.

  • @HondaMugen81 Well Im not really interested in this pistol. But I do have a CZ75, and I can find accessories for it. But it is harder than other brands. I am happy with my CZ, but I stumbled on your review after searching some information on it.

  • That is very SIG-like!

  • Finishing touch in Serbian industry isn't always nicest, but I assure you that the quality is best. Serbian industry, especially older fabrics and companies devoted attention to quality and funcion, not look. I own first version of this pistol ( CZ99 ) that was related in 1989. Never had problems, never jammed ! CZ99 belongs to best pistols in a world,no matter that is based on other models. Its like M16 rifle with Russian's AK47 quality.

  • @venturahwy76. How is the finish on the frame holding up? I am a lefty and I love Sigs. I just worry about the frame scratching and looking bad after a while. Also I have smaller hands and have heard that the grips are very large on this pistol. How is the accuracy?

  • @plumberjoe80 The finish is holding up ok, I was spraying some "OFF" bug spray on my self one day and it softed up the paint in a small area, it has rehardened up but the paint is not as smooth now there, other than that no problems. The gun is the most accurate gun I own, It's hard to describe but the bullets just find the target easily when I am shooting this gun. As far as the grip it is more for large hands. I would recomend finding a gun shop that has one you can hold it to see.

  • CTD and Buds are selling these things for ~300$ shipped...I am SERIOUSLY considering getting one of these. It's a "rare" gun here stateside, but I've heard really good things about these guns and other handguns from Zastava

My big worry is what if I get a lemon. Am I gonna have to ship it all the way back to Serbia?

  • @migkillertwo I was worried about having a problem or finding parts because it is not a real popular gun also. But for what I paid I was willing to take a chance...I'm glad I did it's a solid gun. EAA will take care of it if you have a problem, doubt you will have any problems Zastava has been making the CZ99 for a long time.

  • @venturahwy76

Well in that case I'm really looking forward to making the trip out to the gunshop that carries these and testing the ergonomics. If I like them I will probably pass up the Ruger p95 and taurus 24/7 and get this one. The simplicity of the controls is a BIG selling point for me.

  • @migkillertwo Zastava arms is more than 150 years old. First cannons were cast in Gun Foundry in Kragujevac on October 27, 1853. Zastava has earned a reputation for producing extremely high-quality military and sporting arms. And, due in no small part to the convoluted and complex history of the region as well as its unique geographic location. EZ9 is indestructible, based on the SIG 226 at half price and it is more practical.

  • @Luka464 sig !kako je dobra marka nisam ni znao jbt da kerovi furaju kopiu SIG ali to dobru ....

  • zastava best pitols in world next to china and germany

  • I recently bought an EAA EZ9 and have an issue where if I hold down the trigger when the slide is cycled then the trigger wont fully go back into the correct position and I am unable to fire the next round without decocking or working the slide again. I was wondering if you have this issue as well?

  • @raininginhell I have not had any problems with the trigger not resetting my EZ9. So far I have about 500 rounds though my gun without any issues. You may want to ask that question at the forum cz99.org There may be a simple fix. The owner "Vincent" is more knowlegable with these pistols than I am. Or contact EAA they should take care of that problem at no cost if it is under warranty.

Does your gun have the reversed print on it?

  • Sweet gun, I'll be buying one because of video. Looks like a sig 226, seems like it'll perform just as good, if not better than a sig but will work perfect for me since I am a lefty.

  • wtf ppl say military gunz....... in serbia we have all kinds of guns from zastava ez9 to m76 zatava.. even my neighbor even has a rpgx7

  • I just ordered one with 4 mags.

  • Koliko para ?

  • @Nikola93Zakon About $400 dollars U.S.

  • @venturahwy76 Wow, CTD is selling them for $290.

  • Zastava is a Serbian company. Just to know...

  • Do sig mags work with it?

  • @DESERTHAWKIN Sig mags will work only if modified. You will need to make a "D" shaped cutout to get them to work. Try doing a google search for that mod I know someone has a web page on that. R&R arms has magazines otherwise, but sometimes they are sold out.

  • i know this is an old vid, but i just bought my ez9. i have been very happy with my gun. the gun is a bit heavy, but i like the weight because i don't have the excessive "slap" like i do with my other autos (i am shooting the 9mm). If anyone is looking for a top value gun, this is a contender.

  • very nice an profesional vid, i like it. I decided to buy ez9 because of this vid^^

  • @NBg45 ako budes kupovao CZ 99 kupi ga u kalibru 0.40S&W. neces pogresiti....

  • thanks, very educating thankyou! Good job too.

  • They could sell it in better box.

  • 1:37 E ovo Zastava 34000 Kragujevac SRBIJA zlata vredi :) Thanks for excellent review oz EZ9. Greetings from Serbia! More info u can found on Zastava web page zastava-arms (dot) co (dot) rs

  • @expto87 Greeting to you to, from Novi Sad xD. About Kragujevac, i didn't want to write just Serbia. Yes, u right, we know how those EZ9 and other weapon from Zastava Arms are being tested, but all other people who just watch video like this, maybe for a first time see some Zastava pistol, they don't know. Yes, there are some machine marks but pistol like EZ9 wouldn't live u in any weather condition. HIGH quality, long life weapon. New M21(S) by Zastava is one of the best world assault rifles !

  • great review tnx

  • Thank you very much for this video, it's nice to see that the Serbian gun please you, I am proud of my country !! Thank you again guys, long live the USA and of course Serbia !! ;)

  • Looks disturbingly familiar to the sig p 2 series

  • Nice Weapon! EZ are a great sidearm! Its in my top 5!G17 in my opinon is the best 9mm but EZ give it a run for its money! Great Review!

  • Thanks for posting this vid. I went to 2 different gun shows looking for the CZ99 but sadly I could not find one...

I saw a ton of Taurus', Bersa, even a bunch a Llama's. I asked alot of dealers about the CZ99 and they never even heard of it...

It seems that this pistol is serbias best kept secret. a pity

  • looks alot like a SIG P229. maybe they went after the SIG design.

  • Hey i live next to Serbia and i see cops having CZ 99 u should get that pistol , but this pistol is awesome it has good recoil i feel like i want to shoot without stoping.

  • Excellent video on this gun. I've never had one but i've seen them at gunshows. This video really helped out. A lot of great information. Thanks!

  • Thanks, glad to hear it.

  • Good review, 5 stars! I just picked one up a couple weeks back from Bud's. Couldn't pass up that great sale price they had for a while. Mine came with two magazines, one in the pistol and one in the box. If you got one with only one mag, I'd call EAA and see if they'll send you another.

  • Hey, thanks for the comments. I haerd they were selling them for around $322? with free shipping...can't beat that. That's interesting you got 2 mag's maybe I should make a call.

Does your gun have the reversed print?

  • Yeah I couldn't pass up the $322, great deal. The Sig 226 is nice, but this is much more friendly as I'm a lefty. I'd definitely give them a call about the extra mag, the worst they can say is no. Pretty soon, I'm going to order a single Sig P226 mag and see how easy is it to modify to fit the EZ9.

  • The print on mine isn't reversed, which is ok but it would be neat to have that, if just for the laughs. I ordered two mags from R&R arms, but that's all they had left for now :(

  • Thank you, and very nice review.!

  • Great video. I am looking to purchase a 9mm pretty soon. I have two in mind, the EZ9 and the Ruger P95. I would be using it for home defense and sometimes carry. Does the EZ9 have accessories available to buy. I mean accessories like tactical light, grips, holster, extended magazines. Can you use the Sig Sauer accessories for the EZ9. The Ruger P95 has pretty extensive accessories available. I appreciate any feedbacks.

  • The EZ9 has a std military 1913 rail so any light made for that type of rail will fit. It will probably be hard to find grips because of the decocker lever or you may have to mod them. Since it is real simular to a sig p226 I would think those holsters would work. I bought a light recently for mine the nice thing about it you can take the light head out and swap in the laser head and it is nice and compact. I plan on doing a video of it soon.

  • If your looking for a moderately priced 9mm, I would recommend the Bursa Thunder 9 ultra compact. There is a larger model also that has a 17 round clip. It's also longer & heavier. I'm sure you have your reasons for the 9mm, but if you're looking for home defense, you might want to go with a 40cal or a 45cal just because the 9mm will go through 2 pieces of drywall & can kill the person in the next room if you miss. Just something to think about. Happy handgun hunting.

  • Grips are going to be hard to come by. You might be able to use an X-acto knife to modify some P226 rubber grips to fit it, but unless you want to carve them yourself, wood grips are a no-go.

The newer EZ9s (like mine) have an underbarrel rail, so they'll take virtually any Tac-light or laser combo meant for a pistol.

There isn't an extended magazine for it to my knowledge, however it does hold 15 rounds standard. I can't imagine a situation where two 15 round magazines aren't enough.

  • Nice job !

  • Awesome vid. Thx for posting. I own EZ9 9mm, and I simply love it. After I got mine over night I had to order 6 more for my buds. Once they saw mine, they all wanted one. Out of 7 EZs, we had one minor issue with just one of them. On the range it wasnt shooting in single action, double only. Since they come with LIFE TIME warranty EAA took care of it.

By the way yours is collectable since mine has serial # just above 500 and it reads Read Owners Manual Before Use

  • Thanks, they are very nice. I like that it is a all metal pistol. Good to hear they took care of your buddies gun for him.
