My favorite song from "Voice of the Heart". I was shocked to find later that this was an outtake from an earlier album! Great, underrated song that I doubt would have ever seen the light of day had Karen not passed.
Although, If I had to trade this song, or ANY for Karen, I would In a New York minute. It's a crime she isn't alive.
This track and "Now" are my faves from "Voice of the Heart". Thanks! The first song I remember hearing by the Carpenters was "Top of the World" when I was 5. I have everything they ever put out and things Rich released after Karen's untimely death. You're not the only Carpenters addict out there. :) Love her voice...makes me feel warm inside and sometimes gives me chills (good ones). Thanks again.
Wow, this is weird. Normally her music makes me think of winter and Christmas, but this makes me think of spring and the freedom of being a little kid. Yup, those were the days.
I would like to dedicate this song to Karen, today the 25th anniversary of the day that she left us to go sing with the angels, I hope that she is having as much fun as she has brought us through her beautiful music, and is surrounded by as much love as her voice has surrounded us with, Karen, I know that now you have finally found your " beautiful island in the sun " and I hope that some day I can join you :)
I have always thought that listening to records and watching them spin is much more entertaining than popping a CD in a slot and having it dissaper lol
What a beautiful song. I always loved this song...and the tropical feel it has. I always felt this was like part 2 of BOAT TO SAIL on their gold selling 1976 album A KIND OF HUSH.
It does have a very similar feel dosen't it, I think that Boat To Sail fit the style of that record better, although I like Sailing On The Tide better, its so awesome sounding
It's from Voice Of The Heart, I think it was originally recorded in 1975, It's my favorite that they did, I'll post some more rare songs in a few days, a friend is borrowing the camera.
It is an awesome song, " Maybe if you feel like it too, you might like to make the run, Sail on over the Ocean to my beautiful island in the sun " that was beautiful, she made that song pure poetry, just beautiful and perfect
This is a great cut, from Carpenters. Karen, sings almost 100% of the songs but, Richard sings a few.

I think that 'Goodbye To Love' guitarist Tony Peluso had a hand in writing this song. He also co-wrote 'Happy' for the Horizon album.

I like the way you video it as well. Playing song with record going round. Makes me feel like summer on holiday somewhere.
