  • Buy pure argan oil, it's better than mixed oils with silicon. Aura Cacia, Larenim, Acure Organics have pure argan oils. I buy argan oil from iherb dot com (they ship worldwide and I live in Hungary). I have a cupon code for this site if you want order the first time: VIK284 and you have 5$ off.

  • @9Vikkk9 Thank you! I will give this a try!

  • #teamnatural lol...i didnt transition...my hair was already short from when i cut it senior year of HS (2010)...my last relaxer was homecoming of my freshman year in college (Oct. 2010)...i had weave flat ironed my hair and braids all year...when i got home in may my dad cut my hair down 2 an inch...and my journey has been goin ever since...if u're on FB there is a group called Natural Hair...really great info there...sites like iherb.com and vitacost.com i here have geat prices...GOOD LUCK =D

  • o and whenever i get discourage i watch utube vids lol...many girls on here are sooo passionate about their natural hair and that motivates me to keep going :)

  • OMG i BC for my 26 bdy last year :) i do get frustrated a lot caz my hair is dry as well. I use lots of moisturizers caz my hair doesn't like protein. I also oil my roots with castor oil to promote growth and it makes my hair soft. all the best with your journey...we will be watching you! :P

  • Also I was all about only using "all natural" products, but some of those can be drying too! Becoming a new natural and product junkie go hand-in-hand! I would say look at many reviews and forums before buying new products! And use whatever your hair responses well to because I have experienced breakage from "popular natural products". I still try new things here and there, but when transitioning I was a little obsessed and i spent alot of money on products that were not worth it.

  • I want back and forth from relaxed to natural about 3 times before I stuck with it! Now i have been natural for about 2 years with a head full of shoulder length natural hair. My hair has never been this strong and healthy in my life! I would say to stick with it!!! I wish you well on your journey! ;)

  • Goodluck on your journey! #teamnatural

  • braidouts were mostly wat i did 2 transition for 7 months nd i did a lot of different braid styles like mohawks.. i know its hard but be strong kuz the outcome is worth it!

  • By the way. Even now I still throw in a weave, when I want to give my hair a rest but make sure you take care of your hair underneath (oil it etc) because people tend to wear weave/wigs and forget they still need to take care of your hair underneath. I actually hardly wear my natural hair out just because I'm trying to get to a longer length.

  • 1 of the biggest things I learned from being natural is u will learn more bout UR hair. No one's hair is alike. I been natural since 08, did my big chop July 2010'. I wasn't able 2 retain growth until I learned what works best on my hair. For me, I can't do a lot of products. My hair thrives off just H2O, shea butter, & of course condit/shampoo. That's all. I made the mistake by being a product junkie & following everything I see on YT. Drink lots of H2O & cater 2 wat UR hair needs =D Goodluck!

  • I felt the same way about feeling comfortable when I got my BC. I wore wigs at first, but iLearned to really accessorize my face if that makes sense..(diff glasses/chunky earrings) and I started rockin it. I got more compliments w/ my natural than with my weaves..lol I've been natural 3yrs, but iStill change it up and Actually just chopped my hair again.. But I do love the turban, at least you have some natural showing!!

  • Good luck on your hair journey mama. I'm 8years post relaxer and going strong. : )

  • Just be yourself

  • hey girl! so i have really dry scalp and my hair was shedding like craaaaaazy just weeks ago. what helped is eating more protein...and drinking lots of water. i also do more cowashing than shampooing as well which you talked about. but yes the shedding could be related to lack of protein and water. just a suggestion

  • Get the big chop! I'm now wearing my hair natural..I had my last relaxer in august 2011, did the bc December 2011. In the transition period I used Wen products by Chaz Dean. But now that I'm natural, all I use is carol daughters.... Amazing! The repairing treatment is a good start to let your natural hair become strong. I hope that this helps!

  • as much as i love your hair wrap... the only way your going to feel more comfortable wearing your natural hair IS IF YOU DO IT! and you can do it i promise! i use to be the same way. while i was transitioning... the first time... lol i wore my hair in braids for a year! never again though! i am 4 months post relaxer and i am loving my hair so far!

  • Ive been natural for almost 2 yrs, and when you first go natural your hair is going to be really dry. I promise after about 10 months your hair and curl pattern will start to hold moisture better. STAY STRONG:)

  • hey Dez! love the turban. glad you are going natural again. i too started out natural with different styles abd i used the kinky curly. when i found myself getting weak i would look at videos if women with natural hair and i also kept mine braided and wore wigs. i decided to get locs though so im in a loc journey right now. my 1 year anniversary is next month! stay strong girl! you have a great fashion sense so you will rock that hair!

  • @02:35 u look like Rihanna on that pic :D

  • hey hunnie. ur #1 fan is here-me. if you are indeed going back natural check out fusionofcultures channel. she is MAGNIFICENT

  • Oyin products are really good as well and Shea Moisture Moisture Raw Shea Butter line might help with dryness. Helps me and I live in the UK and purchase them from USA and ship here :-) Must be worth it huh! Use a lot of protective styles so less fiddling with your hair to stimulate growth. Glad Omar supports your hair journey :-) You can do it!!

  • @OLeenev Ill try out some shea moisture products! Thank you!

  • I was wondering if you still were on the journey! I transitioned until my hair grew out. Used Kinky Curly too.I recommend totally natural products without alcohol as it dries out your hair & scalp. Coconut oil good option, I use it along with some water to seal in moisture in my hair.I suffer from dry scalp too!! Stres! Make sure to use a wide tooth comb for the roots (It will be hard as heck first!!! but it the first stump of new growth hair especially after having relaxers for years)

  • Congratulations you can definitely do it. The turban looks really cute on you. Just be patient and you'll definitely see results.

  • well, you can gone head & pass that camera on to mee!! lmao but good luck on your journey love!

  • Girl congrats on your pregnancy .....wow cant wait to see the lil baby

  • @ElegantlyBrown 0_o... Can you let me know at what point in this video did I mention I was having a baby?????

  • @ElegantlyBrown lol sorry my grandmom thought me how to identify pregnant people. so i thought i had mastered that art. Guess not sorry...Do a test though

  • This video was VERY clear concise and easy to understand. Good luck!

  • i go back & forth between wearing braids & wearing weaves. I came across a website euphoria and bliss (she's on facebook)! she sells oils for your hair; i recently just ordered her hair growth oil for my sides. I love your hair & look forward to your transition videos!!

  • Omg.. your short look was was FAB

  • Best decision I've made I know you'll hear that a lot. I'm on my next journey loc's

  • @NaturelDeese wow! Good luck! my youngest sister has locs... her hair is so healthy and thick!

  • Hey, lady! Your hair is so cute. Welcome back to the journey!

  • @lifeinterrupted thank you!

  • first off your short hair was the BOMB. loved it. as far as dealing with your new growth and it being dry etc... maybe you should try deep conditioning your hair maybe once a week? i do mine twice a week because my hair needs moisture and i leave them in for atleast 2 hrs. a brand/product i will suggest is the Shea Moisture anti preakage mask, or Shea Moisture purification mask. After I rinse those out, I follow up with a V05 conditioner for like 10 mins... and my hair feels like silk!

  • @lahlahikossie1 I WILL be trying this!! Thank you girlie!!

  • @D3zira3 check out fusionofcultures channel to see how she transitioned

  • @SRoseBlog will do! Thank you!

  • Your hair looks really good like that. Love how you rocked the turban.

  • @lover4FASHION Thanks pretty lady!

  • Yay! Your going natural again! Im so excited to have another youtube transitioning/natural to look out for! ...NO PRESSURE! LOL I'm 11 months post relaxer now and im away at school where there ARE NO hair salons so I try to maintain a press every month. Even though i am seeing some heat damage I can also see some curls. There is nothing better than the feeling of seeing your natural hair texture after so long! TRUST ME! it is worth the journey! See you soon!

  • @SunnieBella Stay strong with your journey!!! 11 months?! I cant wait till im there!! Stay away from that heat girl!!

  • I've had natural hair my whole life (I'm 20 years old), and my hair is super thick as well. A good trick to combing through your hair is spraying it with some water, so it's a little damp. I find that it loosens up the hair a lot more so that you can comb through it much easier! Also make sure to braid or twist your hair at night so that it does not get super knotted in the morning :) Hope this helps!

  • @JodayeBijoux Thank you! I will be trying this!

  • Dez---We will ALL support you...I went natural from 18-23 y/o, relaxed for a month (college graduation--regretted it) then went right back natural...LOL...have been ever since age 23 and now locd' for 6 1/2 years...I love it (31 years old now)!! Be patient with your hair though...because lawd knows it goes through rebellion stages...lol!! It will be worth it in the end...it's just a matter of getting yourself accustomed to how to care for your hair chemical-free.

  • @rare2find0918 I'm trying to stay patient!! lol My new growth is the devil!! Thank you for your encouraging words :-)

  • Good luck! I made it to 4 months and failed.

  • congrats :) ,i think i want to go natural , but idk yet :/

  • Omg I love your short hair!!!!!

  • @MinaaBeanz Thank you!!!

  • Do you and work it! I think I'm gonna go natural for the third time in May...we'll see lol

  • Going natural was the best decision I made. You will love it, just stick it out. I am glad to help and give you suggestions.

  • @niecey788 :-) Thank you!

  • Your so beautiful!

  • @babyLankanGurl aww Thank you love!

  • I recommend you do styles that doesnt take much manipulation and can actually last at least a week. Such as ur bantu knot out which is so cute lol, roller sets, straw sets (my fav). This will make ur transition easier I think. :)

  • @CeCeNaturally Thank you! I will try out a few things... I will attempt to stay away from the heat.... I'm excited and scared at the same time!

  • I am 1 yr and 3 months natural, it is a wonderful journey and you will LOVE your hair more and more everyday! I think you can pull off any style, so if you cut off the relaxed ends, you never know, you might just LOVE it, I know I did! i got tired of the two textures, but you may be able to cope with it. good luck! you're gonna be so happy with healthy, growing hair!

  • @MsDanicaa I have reached that point already! lol I was sooooo close to cutting it last night but I will hold off for a few months. Thank you!! :-)

  • @D3zira3 Lol! omgggg you shouldddd!! I cut mine off after 3 months without a relaxer, best thing I ever did! I lovedddd my short hair, I kinda wanna do a bc again lol we will see if you can hold off for a few months, you might just change your mind and do it sooner ;) lol

  • I transitioned for 6 months with no heat and recently did the bc. Best decision I've made. U CAN do it!!

  • LOVE THE STYLES U HAD WITH YOUR SHORT HAIRCUT, U A PRETTY GIRL N CAN PULL OFF ANYTHING, HOWEVER ME PERSONALLY I THINK U LOOK BETTER WITH RELAXED HAIR MUCH MORE POLISHED, CONGRATS ON THE HAIR JOURNEY THOUGH...

  • @Makeoversblissfully Thank you! I loved my short relaxed hair as well and I will miss it!! :-( however, my hair hates relaxers now its shedding so bad, Its actually scary. My choice to go natural is to maintain healthy hair. Thank you for your well wishes... lets see what happens :-)

  • Keep it up u wount regret it

  • @jojo2be1 Thank you!

  • I´ll become 25 this summer too :) I think you look adorable with natural hair and that turban! Unfortunately I cannot give you tips because I have Caucasian hair, but I wish you the best of luck!!

  • @089eva Thank you lovie!

  • You can do it!! good luck on ur journey

  • @Daintyliscious I knew you'd like this decision!! :-)

  • @japrincesst Thanks girl!

  • Good luck hun! Going natural has been the best decision that I have made for my hair:-)

  • @NaturallyFashionable Yay!! I hope I feel the same!! :-/ lol

  • girl you better work! your hair looks cute now and those cuts you had were fierce. i'm actually going natural right now and my hair is short and sometimes it's really frustrating. i wear weaves now while it's growing out but i really hate weaves and i wish i could let my own hair out but idk what to do with it while it's short. and seeing those haircuts you had don't help lol.. you make me wana run to my beauty supply and buy a box of relaxer and grab some scissors lol!

  • @mickaela5 NOOOOOO!! Don't give in!! Stay on this journey with me!!! lol

  • Yay!! You want regret it. Congratulations!!

  • @kanani04 Thank you!! :-)
