An interesting phone conversation. It must have been so embarrassing for Koelman. And Heifetz is being quite funny... even though he's very serious and all!
"Your mother is your mother." So funny!
Some pictures are quite interesting! Like 3:11 and 3:03. It's so strange that Heifetz is actually a NORMAL person and wears normal (and even care-free) clothes beside the all those formal clothings!
Who's the child in 3:27? And in 0:36? I'm so jealous of them!!!
@jenny1340 No way! That kid is his SON?! So that's why Heifetz was acting very natural in these pictures! A son... wow... I'm so jealous of him!!! A professional photographer, eh? *goes off to google for more information about Heifetz and his family*
Yes, indeed, this is an actual phone conversation between Heifetz & Rudolf Koelman. Ayke Agus & Sherry Kloss mention such get-togethers in their books. The fact that Koelman wanted to bring his mother to Heifetz's party as his date is an indication of shallow mentality. Michael Rabin, too, was tied to his mother's apron string, which is probably the main reason behind his drug addiction. I wonder if the woman who took this call was Ayke; probably was. How embarrassing to make such a call!
genuinely laughed quite alot when the picture was appropriated to the sound of the car horn. you're thinking 'oo a car horn', then within a second, your passing thought is complimented by the image. lolol. such a funny pic too
Read "Heifetz Through My Eyes" by Sherry Kloss. It really brings a lot of perspective to this conversation. I don't know how you found this clip, but thanks for uploading it!
Recording a phone call for posterity? Whatever--even then, people were invading other's privacy. Heifetz is cordial but firm. It's his party--he can invite whomever he chooses to.....
Truly amazing.....Heifetz never was one for flexibility when it came to stuff like this, I've heard. His rigidity could definitely be humorous at times. And at other times it was like he was biting the person's head off!
Heifetz sounds like a real snooty man

the touch-tone is certainly odd for the claimed year.

It`s amazing this recording exists after so many years. How did the party go, and did Rudolph`s mother ever meet Heifetz?
