Someone should make a heroscape game with maps and map editor, existing characters, and possibly character skins editor and powers editor, and gameplay mechanics where they possibly run and do basic movements for attacks and dodges, and even a list of rules that can change if you want like in the board game. I can imagin it, i would love it, it might not be mainstream but at least it would bring all the army pices into the fans living rooms and it would be cool to share maps and battle online.

I make my own custom cards but no figures. I use the figures i already have as represent figures. I have made a God of War set and a yugioh set so far. Its so much fun to imagine Kratos fighting a Blue Eyes White Dragon.

I bought the first master set a few years back. I remember how much fun I had with it with my buds. But the reason why I sort of stopped playing it was because the franchise grew too big, if you didn't moditer the constant flow of expansion packs you'd end up being blown away by your opponents army, in the end the price costed too much. i'm thinking of getting back into it, but I won't have as much enthusiasm about it as I did before.

I play Heroscape RTS/Civ.

I make a map where there are actually different nations (sand tile goes to this nation, rock tile goes to this nation, and so on) basically, each one of your units that goes to your specific nation(like, if you play as the romans a roman archer peice represents an army based on roman archers)

So, basically, you use your units to conquer the enemy

I would look at the actual units and base their power on what they were...here is how it works...

Movement: All normal armies(like just an army figure that has nothing really speacial to it) can only move 1 space outside of their land and 2 inside

An army with cavalry(the mounted knights or grut riders) or flying units can move 1 space more than the other units

Attack,Defense: Well, you usually roll dice to see how the battle plays out but you will get an extra die (continued)

to any unit that would be good at countering another specific type of unit(ex.Cavalry beats normal armies, Pikes beat Cavalry,etc)

i think it was so you could have any amount of dice and still roll for both attack and defence. it's just a little more convenient i think.

And I would say, if you can't find it in stores, try looking for a place to order it for cheap

I love this game. But I haven't gotten to play it in a really long time. I can't really find anyone else who wants to play it. And playing a two player game by yourself gets old after a while... Especially the "playing with yourself" jokes... lol

You should get the master set 2, "swarm of the marrow", or something like that.

Overall, pretty good review. The mention of cost as a negative is a little misleading. Comparing it to Magic the Gathering is a problem. You can buy exactly the units you want in Heroscape. Magic you might have to buy many packs to get the one card you are looking for, or pay a premium for a single card. Also it is possible to be competitive in tournaments with the stuff he has on the table. If anything there are a couple units in the original master set that is over powered.

heroscape amazing game! but yes it is expensive.  just ordered wave 9. alot of my friends and family complain that a game may be "to complicated" but Heroscape is so easy! at 8:40. even though a Death Reaver runs up to Major Q9 (the big robot with machine guns) Major Q9 does not have to attack the rat, he has a ranged attack. if it was a character with a range of 1, yes it would be wise to attack the rat. If a figure moved out of engagement he could potentially get swiped and lose Health.

Do you have any friends? I have slowly been working in board games among my friends. Afew like them more then others, but when I got afew sets of heroscape, one game and everyone was hooked. Sadly I am having a hard time getting any other board games played because everyone loves this so much.

It helps if your friends are competative, but other then that it shouldn't be to hard to get people into. Even the girlfriends play with us.

i love this game, but I usually play it by myself. Maybe once in while I'll get a few friends to play for an evening and thats always fun. Once we took the pieces from Clue to use in the game. We used an 8-sided dice to determine their stats and Colonel Mustard ended up being loaded.

What is your favorite hero and/or squad? Mine are Sylvaris and the Airbourne Elite.

Dude, nice video. Have you gotten the Swarm of Marro master set yet? I know earlier this year they had them on sale at my local Wal-Mart. I'm one of the lucky ones that have friends that USE to play Heroscape but got tired of it and gave it to me. 3 Mastersets, 1 Swarm of Marro, 1 Castle set and one Frozen Tundra all for free, can't beet that. Do you do trades? I got some rats (Marro Player myself) I don't want.

you don't necissarily have to attack someone who is adjacent to you. you can run away, but you risk getting swiped. if the opponent rolls a skull then you take 1 wound, but if he does not, then you take no damage.
