That's why I don't buy consoles pre-owned :) I don't know if my PS3 is pre-owned or not, because my parents bought it for me 3 years ago, don't think it was pre-owned though. And just a couple of months ago I went out and bought a 360S 250gb, half the HDD size my PS3 has though, although I did upgrade it from 40gb to 500gb :3 Still happy with both of them, and not thinking about returning any. PS3 for powerful games and DVD's/Blu-Ray (up-scales them to 1080p) and 360 for it's epic features :)

@coolcar100 Hah! Guessed I've learned my lesson. The dealer that I bought my new Xbox (that replaces the banned one, as depicted in the video) was very co-operative and without them, I probably wouldn't know my old one was modded.

The replacement Xbox still works to this day. :D

Buy another Xbox or call Microsoft and complain until they send you a new console or fix it for you. Don't stop complaining. Threaten them your going to buy a PS3 and they will change it for you straight away lol.

@tomo0086 I did. The one in the video was banned because it is modded. I wasn't aware it was modded until I took it to my local equivalent of Gamestop. I bought this one from a somewhat dodgy dealer and they gave me back-up games. I bought original games and took it online and it was soon banned after this update. I went back from the proper game store with a fully unmodified Xbox.

heads up, my old console had a flashed drive (now its only duty is to be my Kinect box) but the update should reflash the drive to stock firmware but it didnt.

i've taken the console to a legitimate store, the console is effectively banned as the HDD content are corrupt on a different console.

my problem is way bigger in the first time i updated the xbox could not read my burned games so i toke it to the store and they fixed it and i had to pay them 50 $ and after allmost a month it's asking me to update and the only solution is not update so i can play my games but not in xbox live.

Hey All Guys You Don't Need To Buy Another Xbox You Simply Go to someone so he can remove the flash mod from the xbox and return as orginal xbox and play live again or if u want to keep the flash u get another xbox for the online games that's the only solution I Got And Me 2 Want to Do the same thing fuck microsoft they did it on purpose and the purpose of the update is to damge ur xbox device and u have to get another xbox so they wanna earn money and over 1 million person was banned from xbox

If your xbox is modded, u cannot fix this so ur basically fucked, atleast i think,but if u changed ur disc drive, u have to put ur old disc drive back in ur xbox.anything u changed for ur xbox u gotta put it back on ur xbox to get the update.i did this and it worked so hapefully it will for you.

me too i have a problem but my problem is different when i open my xbox and log in on xbox live i download the update and then when my console restarts its says that some xbox 360 features are missing or corrprut. An xbox live update is required to remplace them etc since that update i cant play on xbox live

Guys, apparently mine was modded, without my knowledge. I have since gotten a new console that can be updated. So, if you have a -1012 error, you're screwed.
