love the samurai helmet towards the end!!! thanks for the info on the swords, i bought a Musashi, but rarely use it... having trouble finding mineral oil (impossible to find Choji Oil in Mexico), any suggestions??? Check out my NEW video "KATANA APPLE BOOM!!!" & yes, they explode!!! ありがとう
Nice video, I wish to learn the art of sword drawing and cutting techniques, I currently own the same as your $250 Katana, I have trained in Kendo but the use of the shinai seems quite different to a sword with an edge, A quick question though.... In two of the clips you demonstrate (I think the quarter and the half robe cut?) but when you pound the blade with the edge of your fist, is that an ancient technique of releasing blood from the blade before it is re-sheathed after battle?
@MrBUSABAZZ yes it is called chiburi. this is old lame vids. go see new vids. ten times better. this is real old. my training vids i number like this is 67. go see video 150 or 151 or 152 for new armors and full suits and in the mts in the forest and new sword. scroll through my uploads. to see new sword vids. and more cutting on real tamati mats
@DarkAce739 dude this is nothing. see it now. you will shit. go to video 150 on my page. i number my training vids. see it now with two real samurai armor of 1000 dollars and see me fight in armor in vid 150 then go to outdoor vids to see this stuff in mts and lakes on volcanos. go to my vids. see only vids after 98 they are way better
Yeah man I love your set up, its good to see that there's other people sharing in my passion of the Samurai, Im looking into getting Samurai Armor, which one did you get.
i love how u show respect to the object being cut down . i'm a noob in the way of the sword , i havnt seen much respect for the sword on youtube . so this makes me happy. do u re-oil your sword after each use ?
I dont understand why you take your lower hand of the Tsuka after taking out the katana or in the middle of a move. You open too much your lower part of your hands too.. The lowest part, that means, your little finger should be the tightest finger wrapped around the tsuka. Although it might be because of a low image quality, thats only my opinion and what I see and im not trying to judge but to help. Greetings and you owe me an answer mount.
@barjc this is a real old vid. my new vids are tons and tons better and real armor on horseback in vid 115. most vids in the forest and snow and mt and lakes rivers etc... go see new vids. i recommend vids after 100. all training vids numbered
hey mountainous, do you spin your katana around your fingers sometimes before going into noto? I think it's kinda cool, I learn from your vids, but not only yours alone. I've learned alot. I have a katana that's around 150 dollars, pretty cheap for a katana yet its pretty good.
that is greg park. and no this is old. i was but not now. go to vid 107 to see what i do in new vids after vid 100. armor on horseback in the mountains in vid 115
all new cutting vids i use tatami. and when i do cutting vids now i dont do that. i do better chiburi and wipe off blade 3 times traditionally. and my new cutting vids are better. go see. name a weapon or any technique or aspect and i will send you a vid doing it now. water stealth. snow steath. no handed rolling while shooting arrows. horseback in armor. my new vids do it all on the top of mt hood in the snow and lakes. go see vids 108-135
read my email i sent you. then go see vid 115 to see me in real yoroi in the mountains on horses where i live. training to shoot archery off horseback in armor. i live in the best biggest forest in usa. i live in home dojo. i spent 5000 grand on this room now. i hole shodan in kamiyama dojo. one of the best to ever train with hatsumi is my teacher. all my new vids are at waterfalls and lakes and snow and glacier and waterstealth. go see vids 108-135 i do all weapons and unarmed
I'll hand it to you that you have great form when it comes to setting and basic handling... in handling the sword itself you more than excell... and not to be negative, the footwork could use some work... I can tell you've practiced long and hard on the sheathing/unsheathing though... pretty good =)
this is a old vid and i have learned so much since then and most my vids are in the forest and on mt and waterfalls or lakes or raging rivers. i suggest vids only 100-135 for the best stuff and new camera and better editing. i do have new cutting vids and real tamishigiri. go to vid 107 to see most locations and training i do. but all vids after 107 are much better cause 107 is year old footage and a highlights film. i will send you a new sword vid ok
i got the full oda suit. and another suit. i send you a few vids in full armor on horseback and archery and vid 107 shows me in full oda suit bo staff vs my buddy with sword in my red armor. full suits. and indoor tour of my home dojo and all my armor and weapons. take care
That is truly some great skill you have. I have been a fan and practioner of the martial arts (mostly kenjutsu) for some years now and would like to improve some more. Could you offer any advice that might help me improve? I would truly appreciate it.
hey what sword(masahiro or musashi) did you use with the takeda shingen at 6:44 and is it sharpened when you buy it or did you sharpen it more youself
i know. i get about 50 youtube comments or emails aday and 47 good and 3 bad but sometimes you have those days and i a human too and i say things i wish i didnt but oh well i am not perfect. i know they dont even have a clue. thanks for support
true that. i use my masahiro alot but the musashi never was used. but to draw inside. it was my best and newest. i have tamishigiri vids to using tatami mats and also my newer vids i have purchases 2 sets of armor that are real from overseas and full suits. check out my channel if you are new to it. take care
you need a good cut and a sharp sword. i have a video called tamishigiri in the mountainous style cutting real tatami mats. i think it is one of the 9 featured on my page
when i am done for the session of cutting i go in and wipe off any moisture and also i oil a wrag and wipe it down and wipe off excess oil then leave out of case for a day or so to make sure no moisture is in wood in case. take care
When was this video made? Those awma assembly kits now cost around $200. I can't afford that, lol. Any good swords you could recommend for $100 today? For my birthday i got a $150 sword that is a Masamune replica (the REAL masamune, not FF7) but i am scared of breaking it as it was a gift. I am purchasing a $75 sword that i feel better with. Both are carbon steel, but machine made.
you'r technique let many many to wish you should perfect it before you use a sharpned sword, you do a diverted cut, pulish that, you have many beuty weapons learn to bend it good.
i know i have alot to work on. but check out katana 6,7,8 i have improved alot and i have some tamishigiri vids and not water bottles and i got a stand and mats. and i have been practiceing. check out my new vid the awaking and my newest one bujutsu training in armor. it is a little better technique now and i use the japanese names for all cuts and i learned them all. maybe you will enjoy them vids. take care
i am not sure which one i dont know much about that exact model. if you send me a link to each sword and i can look at them from a personal message i will and tell you what i think
i would go with the damascus. it is basically crystalized steel. and only a few people in the world know how to make it properly. if it is under $5,000.00 for the damascus sword, it's probably fake.
Well...all heat treated steels are crystalized steel. True damascus/wootz/crucible steels just have a different refining process. Most companies selling "damascus katana" are selling blades milled out of pattern welded barstock.
Just a note, and I'll allow you to draw your own conclusions...but most modern companies selling "damascus" pattern welded katana have questionable quality control. On a longer blade, like a katana, improper welds within the folds could lead to something called "delamination". In my opinion, the non-folded mass produced models are safer.
Fun Video! My only bit of advice is concerning your cutting stand. You are a tall guy so I would suggest you add one more crate to your stand so your targets are closer to chest / shoulder level. This will bring your closer to cutting through the target at your fullest extension. German Longsword tradition calls this the Langenort or Longpoint. I'm sure JSA has a similar concept.
hey, i got a katana as a gift awhile ago and I've always wanted to learn how to actually use it. I've been looking up online training videos and that taught me something, But obviously nothing is like actual training. I used to train in Kenpo. Anyways, What do you reccommened to get me started?
I do not mean to be disrespectfull at all. i love your videos. I am a 3rd Dan martial artist in korean tae kwon do and i was always taught to look down when bowing becouse its very dis respectful to look at the one you are bowing to. In your art that could be different.
shakuhachi the japanese flute and then this is a piece from the last samurai soundtrack my friend sent me and the end is dan bowen of sacred fire dojo singing his song sacred fire
hey, man! great video, but i need to know whick one u think handled better, and also, if you know about my $140 "the last samurai sword" you can give me some feedback on it, cause I already know it has full tang, carbon steel, but not much else. Thanks in advance!
great video! but might i recomend comparing the two katanas with tatami mats? i know you cut them, because i have seen most of your videos, but tatami i like to say is the great equalizer, one functional blade may be able to cut it, and one may not. yet they can both slice bottles and jugs with ease.
check my acct my last new videos have tamishigiri and i use both but i dont say this one vs this one i just use them. i have 3 tamishigiri vids i think recently
Well, I was pretty sure I was right about the stance (I practice iaido for almost a year, not a pro, but atleast something..), and still expect MOUNTAINOUS to flame me for my critisism. If he doesn't, I would be surprised since he pretty much flames on everyone who critise him.
i meant to reply to the comment you replied to and i accidently erased it. but no i will flame you. never heard that term. i dont mind critisim it helps me. i only say things or block someone when they are blatently just leaving rude or ignorant comments. or if i know i am doing it right and they trash my video and i go to there account and they are just a kid or 19 or something and they have zero vids. and i can tell they are slanderes. no problem bro. go to my video katana 7. i am doing better
functonal Katanas, I have a $80.00 Musashi Hiryuu, and I think it is great! My $80.00 Musashi will cut you just as bad any $1000.00+ Katana out there. Oh btw, great videos!
why would you tell me that. i paid 100 for this sword but you cant find it online for less than 200. it proved well by this video and if you see my newest video tamishigiri i cut tatami with both of theses swords and they cut no problem. full tang double peg. tight fightings. cloth wrap amazingly tight. carbon steel. this is not a wall hanger. and dont slander this comment because i block people pretty easy
either way it performs good and it is full tang double peg and the cloth wrap is done very nicely and tightly and real ray skin. hardwood saya. do you actually own one. i own two and do tamishigiri with them. my lowest end masahiro is ok but my 200 dollar one is great. as i said before to others. i dont hang mine on walls. i swim in lakes and crawl through the dirt. look at my outdoor videos. i dont want a paul chen so i can use it for what it is SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR
Masahiro are not meant for martial arts practice, they are dangerous, if you want to use them fine, but do not encourage others to put themselves at risk.
I dont understand why you would buy multiple poor quality blades, when you could combine the money, and actually buy a blade that was meant for budo arts!
Disclaimer or no disclaimer, accept some responsibility that what you do and say here on these videos will affect people
they are meant for real budo training. i do real budo. i want to see all the big talkers with there expensive sword who trash mine and see them swim and go underwater with there nice sword. wont happen. or crawl in the dirt or rolling in woods wearing a sword. ya right. they take there nice sword use it for tatami and put in in the closet. i use mine. my musashi is 250 and equal to a 400 dollar paul chen or cheness. fact. one sword dont work.
mine are super tight and cut tatami no problem and are great. and having one sword is pointless. i need longer tsuka on one. i need razor sharp and dull swords. i do shuko vs sword and i use dull for that. i dont want to lose fingers. do you know what shuko is? i need ninja-to for training indoor and one for going in water and stuff. i do to much different training to have 1 sword. this is how i roll. no need to change my mind i reasearched all brands and qualities before i decided to buy.
i would start with masahiro, i never had a problem with a sword from them. they are pretty strong, i was able to cut a 2 inch tree with my test masahiro sea bird. it never bent or chipped. i only paid 85 for it brand new.
i use my musashi when i do real tamishigiri on mats like in the katana video i made last night katana 7 with tamishigiri at the end. but they are pretty close in quality. i have 2 masahiro now. take care
What do you think is a better sword Musashi or Masahiro? I've been longing to buy one but was never really sure which one to get. Being so expensive, I don't want to mess up and buy the wrong one! ^^
yes they are 2 seperate pieces but i dont try to take apart. i am delicate with it cause i treasure it and cost alot. how are you and do you msn i am on now and i got new bow and arrow and another recurved longer coming and some other fun stuff coming and 4 videos for next week planned out if all is well
The bow came? Nice! I'm not on MSN, yet...and I really need to get on it. I'm having download issues with this computer though. Heh. Sounds like you're gonna be busy!
I'm doin' pretty good. The restaurant just keeps getting busier and busier. How are you?
we have had parties of 40 and wedding type groups who come from hotel next door and the weekends are busy but slowing down from peak season in summer and weekdays are getting real slow due to snowboard season ending for 10 days. then lifts open up just weekends but it will be raining everyday in about a month and then snowing a month later. so then it gets crazy again. well take care and lookforward to your next videos and your comments on my new ones
great video5star-the cuting twice on the same bottle proves to me presition and efectivenes, regards Mountainous from Tenerife Canary Islands Spain, please coment and rate on mine if u like them,i will soon do tekniques for women self defence incase u wana subscribe-train safe
Hi Jason, your are so lucky there in USA: you have the permission to have swords sharpened like razor, I in Italy never will make a video like this :(
Very beautiful katana and congratulations for the helmet surely made by yourself. I hope to find you online this weekend if possible for you.*****from Italy.
AWESOME! I always love see-ing things being destroyed by swords mwuahaha, LOL, excellent again my friend, i like the cutting technique, ou seriously are dedicated, you deserve a feature from Chosonninja, 5 stars my friend!
Great video! Cuts look really nice. I really liked that scene where you cut the 2 jugs of water and the severd plastic flew up an dtoward the camera in slow mo. I'm getting my katana very soon. Thanks for sharing!
just some quick advice when you hit the sword to romove the water dont hit the blade hold it with the hand at the bottom of the handle and hit at the top of the handle below the tsuba its more efective and alittle easyer on the hands
are you serious? i aint sure if that is right. i see old grandmasters and they do it this way unless i was confused. do you know a video you can send me address so i can see someone do it your way. if i am doing it wrong i want to see how it is done.
i know. i sent him a link to my video katana 7 where i am doing it in the togakure ryu style. i have learned more since this video. i know how to do it now.
congratulation jason nie very nice you are very good way of bushi bro you are a exemple for me bro i take youre direction bro so mi armor of katsumoto coming soon bro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
empty gallons of milk filled with water. cheap and works good. and a dull sword will not cut it. it will get knocked over. so one has to cut good and have sharp sword. cheap and free
hey man really nice cuts on those swords keep it up! 5* Hey i have a question im looking to get a katana just to train on and my picks are Cold Steel O katana at overall length 49'' and at $349. Or Cold Steel Warrior katan with a overall length of 40 1/2" at $350. I will also get one of there bokkens to start with so what would you recomend?
i dont know i dont spend that much on a katana. my 100 and 250 dollar ones perform good and can flex to a 45 degree angle and come back true. i dont see the need to spend that much unless you are a expert with a sword and are cutting tatami every day. go to youtube search and type in swordbuyersguide and watch a vid called musashi wind katana flex test and one called musashi wind katana cutting test. this level of sword performs amazing. sorry dont know much about that brand
oh it wont break and the 200 dollar musashi sword is equal to some 400 dollar other swords. if you go to the vid i told you too you can see that it flexes and dont bend and comes back true. cheap swords bend and stay bent. unless you are trying to chop down telephone poles or steel bars.lol it wont break. he stabs one in a steel barrel and no damage but it pierced the steel. what do you plan on cutting? because unless you are a master swordman i guarantee a 200 dollar sword is more than u need
what i mean is if you buy a carbon steel and it is not folded or water quenced it will bend and stay bent. mine will flex and bend back if you stab in a stump and bend it. like on swordbuyersguide on youtube. cheap or expensive i wont buy one that bends and stays bent. garbage to me. modern katanas either bend and stay bent or flex back. makes no sense to buy one that stays bent if it flexes. that is my opinion and mine only
Awesome video brother. It is cool to see you were in the side yard cutting. I especially liked the last sword and the double jug cuts. FIVE STARS AND FAVORITED
i love your real kabuto i do believe that takeda was the best swordsmen in his time well supposibly he was the best ever bet im pretty sure someone has surpassed him great vid btw i am in love with you hakama its simply beautiful 5*
yes i plan on it. i have one month of nice weather before rain everyday for a month then snow for 6 months. so i have to save them for the bad weather and i will do stuff like that inside. thanks for the comments
love the samurai helmet towards the end!!! thanks for the info on the swords, i bought a Musashi, but rarely use it... having trouble finding mineral oil (impossible to find Choji Oil in Mexico), any suggestions??? Check out my NEW video "KATANA APPLE BOOM!!!" & yes, they explode!!! ありがとう

Great video man, I am a sword freak too, I have a replica of the one that mel gibson used on braveheart, I bought it in Toledo, Spain.
I practice sometimes, but it is not like the katana, not about cutting, just breacking bones, and it requires a lot of strengh on your arms...
Keep cutting man! Try with dead pork from the butchery, breacking bones is the real shit!

you need a good cut and a sharp sword. i have a video called tamishigiri in the mountainous style cutting real tatami mats. i think it is one of the 9 featured on my page

when i am done for the session of cutting i go in and wipe off any moisture and also i oil a wrag and wipe it down and wipe off excess oil then leave out of case for a day or so to make sure no moisture is in wood in case. take care
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
When was this video made? Those awma assembly kits now cost around $200. I can't afford that, lol. Any good swords you could recommend for $100 today? For my birthday i got a $150 sword that is a Masamune replica (the REAL masamune, not FF7) but i am scared of breaking it as it was a gift. I am purchasing a $75 sword that i feel better with. Both are carbon steel, but machine made.
Cretaal 3 years ago 2
you'r technique let many many to wish you should perfect it before you use a sharpned sword, you do a diverted cut, pulish that, you have many beuty weapons learn to bend it good.
sesshoumaro1 3 years ago 3
i know i have alot to work on. but check out katana 6,7,8 i have improved alot and i have some tamishigiri vids and not water bottles and i got a stand and mats. and i have been practiceing. check out my new vid the awaking and my newest one bujutsu training in armor. it is a little better technique now and i use the japanese names for all cuts and i learned them all. maybe you will enjoy them vids. take care

Hey what do you recommend? The musashi destiny with damascus steel or the carbon steel tempest? what is stronger and more lethal
buttheadx9 3 years ago
i am not sure which one i dont know much about that exact model. if you send me a link to each sword and i can look at them from a personal message i will and tell you what i think
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
i would go with the damascus. it is basically crystalized steel. and only a few people in the world know how to make it properly. if it is under $5,000.00 for the damascus sword, it's probably fake.
SneakySolidSnake 3 years ago
Well...all heat treated steels are crystalized steel. True damascus/wootz/crucible steels just have a different refining process. Most companies selling "damascus katana" are selling blades milled out of pattern welded barstock.
Hyoujinsama 3 years ago 2
Just a note, and I'll allow you to draw your own conclusions...but most modern companies selling "damascus" pattern welded katana have questionable quality control. On a longer blade, like a katana, improper welds within the folds could lead to something called "delamination". In my opinion, the non-folded mass produced models are safer.
Hyoujinsama 3 years ago
dude you bother sword are graet im put video on fav becaues it raw power
kissrdbc 3 years ago 2
Djemps 3 years ago 3
hey, i got a katana as a gift awhile ago and I've always wanted to learn how to actually use it. I've been looking up online training videos and that taught me something, But obviously nothing is like actual training. I used to train in Kenpo. Anyways, What do you reccommened to get me started?
MBNightingale 3 years ago 2
I do not mean to be disrespectfull at all. i love your videos. I am a 3rd Dan martial artist in korean tae kwon do and i was always taught to look down when bowing becouse its very dis respectful to look at the one you are bowing to. In your art that could be different.
tatur321654 3 years ago
Looking down is only for somebody who is not a opponent, When you bow to a opponent you never take your eyes off of him even when bowing.

hey, man! great video, but i need to know whick one u think handled better, and also, if you know about my $140 "the last samurai sword" you can give me some feedback on it, cause I already know it has full tang, carbon steel, but not much else. Thanks in advance!
Raikiribokken 3 years ago 2
great video! but might i recomend comparing the two katanas with tatami mats? i know you cut them, because i have seen most of your videos, but tatami i like to say is the great equalizer, one functional blade may be able to cut it, and one may not. yet they can both slice bottles and jugs with ease.
tollios6553 3 years ago
check my acct my last new videos have tamishigiri and i use both but i dont say this one vs this one i just use them. i have 3 tamishigiri vids i think recently
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
Well, I was pretty sure I was right about the stance (I practice iaido for almost a year, not a pro, but atleast something..), and still expect MOUNTAINOUS to flame me for my critisism. If he doesn't, I would be surprised since he pretty much flames on everyone who critise him.
Narkodas 3 years ago
i meant to reply to the comment you replied to and i accidently erased it. but no i will flame you. never heard that term. i dont mind critisim it helps me. i only say things or block someone when they are blatently just leaving rude or ignorant comments. or if i know i am doing it right and they trash my video and i go to there account and they are just a kid or 19 or something and they have zero vids. and i can tell they are slanderes. no problem bro. go to my video katana 7. i am doing better
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
Does your hakama have folds? In any video I watched, I never saw any folds in it. Nor I have never seen such a... Happy colored hakama?
And like it or not, I don't like your stance.
(Now I am probably get some great flaming back, or anything related to it lol)
Narkodas 3 years ago
dont care if you like it and yes there are folds in it
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
Yes, I agree, he does need to work on his stance and cutting, but then again, so do I =)

Hey man, I give you props on owning "lower end"
functonal Katanas, I have a $80.00 Musashi Hiryuu, and I think it is great! My $80.00 Musashi will cut you just as bad any $1000.00+ Katana out there. Oh btw, great videos!

Please do not buy a Masahiro blade, and ever use it for anything other than hanging on a wall.
nicostormUK 3 years ago
why would you tell me that. i paid 100 for this sword but you cant find it online for less than 200. it proved well by this video and if you see my newest video tamishigiri i cut tatami with both of theses swords and they cut no problem. full tang double peg. tight fightings. cloth wrap amazingly tight. carbon steel. this is not a wall hanger. and dont slander this comment because i block people pretty easy
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
masahiro swords are rebrands so you never actually know the quality of what you are getting! This is a fact!
nicostormUK 3 years ago
either way it performs good and it is full tang double peg and the cloth wrap is done very nicely and tightly and real ray skin. hardwood saya. do you actually own one. i own two and do tamishigiri with them. my lowest end masahiro is ok but my 200 dollar one is great. as i said before to others. i dont hang mine on walls. i swim in lakes and crawl through the dirt. look at my outdoor videos. i dont want a paul chen so i can use it for what it is SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
Masahiro are not meant for martial arts practice, they are dangerous, if you want to use them fine, but do not encourage others to put themselves at risk.
I dont understand why you would buy multiple poor quality blades, when you could combine the money, and actually buy a blade that was meant for budo arts!
Disclaimer or no disclaimer, accept some responsibility that what you do and say here on these videos will affect people
nicostormUK 3 years ago
they are meant for real budo training. i do real budo. i want to see all the big talkers with there expensive sword who trash mine and see them swim and go underwater with there nice sword. wont happen. or crawl in the dirt or rolling in woods wearing a sword. ya right. they take there nice sword use it for tatami and put in in the closet. i use mine. my musashi is 250 and equal to a 400 dollar paul chen or cheness. fact. one sword dont work.
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
mine are super tight and cut tatami no problem and are great. and having one sword is pointless. i need longer tsuka on one. i need razor sharp and dull swords. i do shuko vs sword and i use dull for that. i dont want to lose fingers. do you know what shuko is? i need ninja-to for training indoor and one for going in water and stuff. i do to much different training to have 1 sword. this is how i roll. no need to change my mind i reasearched all brands and qualities before i decided to buy.
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
i would start with masahiro, i never had a problem with a sword from them. they are pretty strong, i was able to cut a 2 inch tree with my test masahiro sea bird. it never bent or chipped. i only paid 85 for it brand new.
jetfule 3 years ago
i use my musashi when i do real tamishigiri on mats like in the katana video i made last night katana 7 with tamishigiri at the end. but they are pretty close in quality. i have 2 masahiro now. take care
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
What do you think is a better sword Musashi or Masahiro? I've been longing to buy one but was never really sure which one to get. Being so expensive, I don't want to mess up and buy the wrong one! ^^

we have had parties of 40 and wedding type groups who come from hotel next door and the weekends are busy but slowing down from peak season in summer and weekdays are getting real slow due to snowboard season ending for 10 days. then lifts open up just weekends but it will be raining everyday in about a month and then snowing a month later. so then it gets crazy again. well take care and lookforward to your next videos and your comments on my new ones

just some quick advice when you hit the sword to romove the water dont hit the blade hold it with the hand at the bottom of the handle and hit at the top of the handle below the tsuba its more efective and alittle easyer on the hands
BTW nice vid.

are you serious? i aint sure if that is right. i see old grandmasters and they do it this way unless i was confused. do you know a video you can send me address so i can see someone do it your way. if i am doing it wrong i want to see how it is done.

empty gallons of milk filled with water. cheap and works good. and a dull sword will not cut it. it will get knocked over. so one has to cut good and have sharp sword. cheap and free

hey man really nice cuts on those swords keep it up! 5* Hey i have a question im looking to get a katana just to train on and my picks are Cold Steel O katana at overall length 49'' and at $349. Or Cold Steel Warrior katan with a overall length of 40 1/2" at $350. I will also get one of there bokkens to start with so what would you recomend?
bryan1211 3 years ago
i dont know i dont spend that much on a katana. my 100 and 250 dollar ones perform good and can flex to a 45 degree angle and come back true. i dont see the need to spend that much unless you are a expert with a sword and are cutting tatami every day. go to youtube search and type in swordbuyersguide and watch a vid called musashi wind katana flex test and one called musashi wind katana cutting test. this level of sword performs amazing. sorry dont know much about that brand
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
ok man thanks i just want a katana thats not going to break. to me id rather spend $350 then to spend $150 have it break/bend and be $150 out.
bryan1211 3 years ago
oh it wont break and the 200 dollar musashi sword is equal to some 400 dollar other swords. if you go to the vid i told you too you can see that it flexes and dont bend and comes back true. cheap swords bend and stay bent. unless you are trying to chop down telephone poles or steel bars.lol it wont break. he stabs one in a steel barrel and no damage but it pierced the steel. what do you plan on cutting? because unless you are a master swordman i guarantee a 200 dollar sword is more than u need
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
Its not cheap swords. Any differently tampered sword will bend and stay bent. Traditional nihonto would bend and stay bent.
Spring steel ftw
BalorCM2 3 years ago
what i mean is if you buy a carbon steel and it is not folded or water quenced it will bend and stay bent. mine will flex and bend back if you stab in a stump and bend it. like on swordbuyersguide on youtube. cheap or expensive i wont buy one that bends and stays bent. garbage to me. modern katanas either bend and stay bent or flex back. makes no sense to buy one that stays bent if it flexes. that is my opinion and mine only
MOUNTAINOUS 3 years ago
