  • this is great but what if the dog doesn't like this done?

  • Also, a few of his nails are so dark its hard to know where to clip for the nails. I do have a good nail clipper. I had an Akita that one only one dark nail, clipped it once too short, not good. What are your recommendations for nail clipping, some advice.

Again, thanks so much for this and all the videos. They are a permanent part of my videos, lol!

  • Thank you so much for posting these videos, they're a HUGE help! I've given my Cocker two cuts so far. I just went out last night and invested in a good pair of clippers. They were expensive, but ..... they're quiet and what a difference! I do have a question. For a Cockers belly, Dutch is touchy about the armpit area but he's getting better. But when it comes to the belly and genital area, he gets touchy. How short do you normally go on their belly and under hair.

  • My dog has anxiety so she knotted up all her ears. I'm so lost on what to do they've gotten so bad. Any ideas on what I could do?

  • Isn't the fur on the front not supposed to be shaved off?

  • hello i havve a little boy cavileir and i and nails and blow drying plz want to leave him short can you please just show a video with the washing and nails please

  • Thank you so much for all of your videos, they have really helped me. I have a question about the paw pads. I have a cocker spaniel and she gets mats in between her paw pads. Do you trim those out with scissors before you take the clippers in there? Thanks again!

  • This was extremely helpful. Thank you so much for posting!

  • I have a question ,ive read somewhere that if you shave your king charles spaniel like you did in the 'grooming video part 1', their hair grows back thicker and coarse.... i doubt it but id like to ask you since you have personal experience!

  • @noliesjustlove72 Leo's hair always grows back the same as before... same color, texture, thickness, and curlieness. I think the people who say that are silly... yes Cavies are ment to be left full coated for show and they are gorgeous that way. BUT sometimes it is just more logical and maintainable if it is short. Feel free to clip your cavie, he/she will be just fine and so with the coat. ;)

  • I hope Spanielmom93 is still making videos, the latest i watched was from a year ago. I think I have learned more about grooming from you, then anyone else on YouTube. You tell us exactly what blade you are using and explain clearly what you are doing throughout the grooming process! I applaude your dedication!

  • Great video!! I just got a sheltie/collie mix and I learned a lot that I can use on her. Thanks!

  • @Deliriousara good luck with the coat growing back normal.

  • @para1yz3d As long as she does it in the spring or summer, she'll be fine ;)

  • @spanielmom93 shaving a double coated dog ruins the coat. they shed for a reason. when you shave a double coat, it blocks the hair folicles which causes the fur not to grow back.. if it does grow back most of the time it would be a diff texture, usually like a wire coat, or different colours and in patches. it all depends on the dog, an depending on how old the dog is when you first shave it. some peole are just lucky and the coat grows back normal.

  • @para1yz3d Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are NOT double coated. German Shepard, Huskie, Poms, Malamutes, those are double coated breeds. Just because a dog sheds doesn't make it double coated. I have been grooming for 10 years now and have NEVER had an issue with any dogs I have shaved... double coated or not. Because I do it in the right time of year ;) Clipping a piece of fur is not going to block a folicle... nothing to block it.. don't really know where you even got that...

  • thank you thank you i am learning how to clip my two english springers and leo is a small version of them :P could you do a video on how to completely shave a dog or even just the inside of the ears. we shave our springers in the summer to get rid of matting but it gets pricey. would be nice to learn how. thank you

  • Thank you for Leo's videos! Very helpful! He looks great!

  • Thanks for this video...I'm getting an 8 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel on the 27th and this is very helpful..Thank you!! :)

  • Leo is lovely! Hoping to own my first Cavalier soon. Trying to learn as much as I can.Thankyou.

  • Great Job and thanks so much!

  • i kant get my dog 2 calm down what do i do?!?!?!?!

  • It just takes time and patience. Try taking your dog for a long brisk walk before you work on him/her. ;) A tired dog is a good dog!

  • Hi spanielmom93! I had a couple of questions, are you soposed to clipper a show dog's belly also? are you soposed to scissor (or clipper) underneith all dogs feet (including show dogs?????)

    Thanks for your help :)

  • It depends on the breed as far as show dogs go I am not a show groomer so I can't really comment other then some breeds do get clippered some don't. As far as the paws go it is really a preference thing, some people sissor some poeple clipper, clippering gets more hair out and keeps the paws cleaner. ;)

  • "Bravo"---to Leo! ~ He is such a team player! ...lol

  • He'll do anything for a good butt scratch! LOL

  • nice smile at the end .

  • Thanks! ;)

  • This was so helpful. Thanks for doing this! I wish my cavaliers were as compliant as Leo!

  • Leo sure is a good boy but all it takes is practice, I am sure your Cavies will get the hang of it! ;) Thanks for your comment! :D
