The PS2 version is the best version, it is superior to all the others and any version of FIFA also. The PS2 version funnily enough is THE worst of the lot ... which came as a HUGE disappointment.

even though i agree the fifa game is better , the reason people dont like pes 2008 is not because it is the same but because it is a lot different from pro evo 6. nobody complained that the 6 other pro evo games where pratically identical because it was still the same good gameplay. the gameplay in this has changed quite dramatically from past versions and for the worse. stick to the ps2 version. if it aint broke dont fix it.

I would recomend playing both of the demos on xbox marketplace (and psn if its on there) before making your decision.

I agree with this review. I dont think Fifa has 'really taken the crown' - Its still lacking in a lot of departments and the ball rolls like its stuck in jam. But PES2008 is too fast and too sketchy. I dont like having to hold down a button to run with the ball in 'close control mode'. And I like to be able to play as Leeds in Fifa. Fifa will probably overtake next year or in the next few years at least. EA have far too much money to throw at the game.

Pes2008 was a big let down. But there's still no football game out there that compares to Pes5 & 6. Lets just hope Pes2009 is alot better than 2008.

Fifa 08 takes patience to master, I've played over 300 matches and I'm still on Professional level. (there's two more levels to go!)
Played Pro and beat it first time on hardest setting. Konami have got to revamp an aging footie game to compete with EA.
