OH HE IS SO CREATIVE AND SMART! LOOK AT HIS JEANS THEY HAVE HOLES IN THEM...OMG HE IS NOT A NERD LIKE BILL GATES>> HE IS COOL HE IS UNIQUE HE HAS HOLES IN HIS JEANS!!111 PC JUST FOR NERD. MAC IS FOR COOL ARTISTS WHO SMART
@JeffreyJenness hahahaha...yes, yes, yes - you're right! Steve is smart and cool! And he's actually kind of sweet too. Bill? He's just a copycat nerd with no personality!
@dangutierrezcolorado I'd say Steve was smart in the sense he could tell what would sell and what wouldn't, he knew what the market needed and so he developed it by using previously existent ideas and concepts, this happened with most of his products. He was a visionary and also happened to be a very good marketeer. Personally, I wouldn't rely on the ''IQ talk'' as "intelligence" itself is not well-defined, let alone IQ and it's analysis method.
@debunker1905 you're right on the "IQ Talk" and its complexity. I re-read my comment and sounds "cocky". Please accept my apologies. But I still insist that Jobs was smart but not the smartest... maybe a good marketer, one of the best :) But the more I read the biography, the more I like Woz ;)
@dangutierrezcolorado Note the biography is misleading in some ways because it takes Bill Gates word over Jobs. For example, you'd think that NeXTStep was crap and had nothing to do with the resurgence of Apple, when in fact it was incredibly important and innovative for the time. Gates apparently still believes that Apple didn't need NeXT technology and that they got suckered by Jobs into believing it was useful technology.
Steve was one of a kind and will be remembered forever, the passion and love that he gave to his projects is unmatched and that's way we love his inventions too, we will miss you steve.
People got bent out of shape over OpenDoc, but who even cares about it anymore? People get so upset over things that won't matter 10-15 years down the road.
yea nobody in the public, but before Steve came back to Apple, there were like thousands of products in developement and Steve cut those products down to something like 5. Of course people would have got bent out of shape on OpenDoc (whatever the hell that is) if they've spent the last 5 years working on it.
Steve is one of the two most intelligent persons of the last few hundred years, along with bill gates. He was humble, friendly and gave so many new products to us. People like him come once in a few hundred years.
@Milahi1935 humble? you are kidding right? read the watson's biography on Jobs life and tell me how do you see it as a humble person. One of the most intelligent? c'mon! Read about Goethe, Newton, and so on... he was smart but not that much. Look for an article on his intelligence on psychologytoday and you'll know about his IQ
He speaks with such clarity and simplicity, even if you disagree with him the sheer volume of logic is difficult to argue with. Great man, sadly missed.
@PhoenixProductionInc Steve Jobs is the one of the most respected man, he will and always be my idol. Why do idiots like you keep freaking out on a comment that was not even made to be offensive at all. I think u should quit Earth and go play with yourself somewhere on Mars.
OpenDoc was SUCH a dog (and, I don't mean CyberDog! :-) ). I remember trying to demo it to customers - we were like "who would want to use this???"...
@danszimmy07 - OpenDoc was an application development platform that focused on the document instead of the application. Instead of opening a huge application to do one thing, OpenDoc was based on using small application parts to do very specific tasks within a document. A word processing app would run in one section of a document as a spreadsheet, photo editing or other app runs in other parts of the same document.
Think OLE taken to another level. It did have promise, but was darn buggy...

This is the first time I ever heard Steve Jobs swear, but he just had to get that point across, especially after returning to Apple.
