I agree..most officers are working a hard, dangerous and thankless job and doing a good job of it. What does disturb me is the percentage of law enforcement stepping over the line is going up. There also seems to be a lack of regard for civil liberties.

I was pulled over on I-465 in Indy by a State Trooper the other day for no shoulder belt. My truck is an older one that is exempt from the law. Can someone out there tell me if this is legal for the Trooper to pull me over? He seemed like he was hoping I was smoking a joint or had a cache of weapons or something. I would NOT have consented to a search, by the way.
