I never knew how sexist the title of this cartoon is until now, but I still think this one is pretty funny. This was obviously made in the days before blinkers: you actually had to stick your hand out to let others know where you are turning. That can be pretty unsafe, IMHO. "I stuck out my hand, but the car didn't turn!" XD
4:54 "I always oppose the law." That's weird because in an earlier cartoon, Popeye said he respected the law. Even gladly went to jail for assaulting an officer.

I guess this is when the Fleischers started trying to turn Popeye into someone who could compete with Disney.
That said, interesting exploration of the Popeye-Olive relationship here, and it's not nearly as milque-toast as the 50s Popeyes.
