The story of Arthas is one of the best, if not the best ever. I have played all the games and i love the good turning evil or visa versa idea.

Arthas is an amazing character. And he should never have been defeated the way he was in WoW.

I have also stopped playing wow now. The storyline of warcraft ended with Arthas in my world. Deathwing can suck it.

The reason why the "lich king Arthas" has so much soul in him is because he was built with a story to become what he was, instead of what we see happen in books and movies hundreds of times, with creators simply creating more and more powerful characters out of the blue.

In fact, he was killed by "WoW heroes", as Tirion calls them, with Tirion's help and with Arthas's father's, with some epic quotes and cinematics and the ending was quite dramatic (together with the death cutscene); they might have been able to do something more "lore"-ish, but it was pretty good nontheless ..

1) Incorrect, He wasn't power hungry, he did it to save his people from the Scourge, but was actually being tricked by Ner'zul and gradually became more and more gruesome.

2) Rather boring, there is a (somewhat) deep story behind Arthas, which makes him much more understandable and make him less of a "bad guy".

I'm glad Blizz has a bigger budget for voice acting these days. Uther and Arthas were okay, but the Blackrock blademaster sounded quite amateurish, as did some of the NPC's.

4 He was doing all of this not for his girlfriend but for all of his people... and many many more differences so STOP comparing him to Anakin!
