Depends on wear you live. 7 foot med would be best here in Southern Cal but 7 foot mh is probably best in the south. Up north or arnd finesse lakes, I'd go with a 7 foot med spinning rod if I only had one rod. Good luck.
Im new to bass fishing and was looking for a rod that I can use for every lure in my tackle box. All the rods I have seen are for a specific lure(crank bait, finnese, etc)?
@23basspro. Personally, I use a low stretch mono like Izorline most of the time. Mono has some advantages that I like such as better castability and more stretch but not too much stretch.
I should of said to take split ring off also. Just figures that would be unsaid. I agree with you, was told on Twitter Boyd Duckett uses swivels. For me, I just dont do it. Hurts the action to me, or at least in my mind. Plus I use the retied to save my line from breaking also.
Confidence is the biggest thing to me, and I dont have teh confindence in swivels.
@butterbean19. It actually depends on how you apply it. I take off the split ring so it doesn't hurt the action at all. If you leave the split ring on, what you said is true...it can hurt the action. I've seen 10-12 Elite guys using the snap so I know it works if the setup is correct.
@philly442. Mostly, it makes it easier to change crankbaits. Some manufactures make their baits with the snap on them (out of the box) and some just use an "o" ring on the line tie. The "o" ring or the snap allows the bait to have better action in the water (b/c the line tie and the snap or "o" ring swivel when the bait is cranked).

what type of line do you use for crank baits
23basspro 1 year ago
@23basspro. I usually use 12lb Bass Pro Shops XPS 100% fluorocarbon line. Mono will work too however.

Dude dont add swivels....Its easier to change baits out, but it hurts the action.
Up to you though, id experiement with how you like the action before adding swivels.
