  • Astonishing live version!

  • Haha Sammy doin the cockatoo. HAHAHHA

  • Ok I know this was done in front of live tv and audience, but come on!! Sammy singing baretta is not even close to Sammy doing Baretta! When he's singing, he's soft!! I mean where's the feeling? Now when he does Baretta, Sammy makes you feel the song!! You understand the grit and toughness of the song. I'm glad this version isn't on record.

  • LOVE YOU SO MUCH SAMMY AS YOU TAP-DANCE IN HEAVEN,, I KNOW MY POPS DOUG FASION IS COOKING HIS HAM-HOCKS WITH CORNBREAD, GREENS, GET YOUR EAT-ON MR.DAVIS, MIAMI JAMES IS THERE, LOVE YOU SO MUCH SAUL IS THERE TODAY FOR CAROLYNN SAVED A DANCE FOR U KISS OUR BABY KATIE,, LOVE YOU,,,AALL BIGGS

  • cool

  • sammy simply kicked ass!,i was a houseman in scottsdale az. 1980,him & his entourage stayed for four days at the resort i worked, i remember sammy driving a golf cart, and cooking in the four suites he rented, and left the maids 100.00 dollars each, class act..all the way..rip sammy!!!

  • Tremendous !!!!!!

  • sammy was on his own planet i believe he was entertainer of the year 1 year and it couldnt have happened 2 a more entertaining character

  • 3:22

  • What a character...Sammy!

  • TKY SAMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Even Elvis was aware of Sammy's special talents. He once called Sammy the finest entertainer around. For his size and stature he could belt out the tunes with the best of them. Sing, dance, act, perform, and was the fastest quick draw pistol packer in Hollywood. Oh, and all with one eye by the by!

  • @scottmanduzy Great drummer too!

  • 2:28 - "have a little taste for the face" LMFAO!

  • I always thought the opening song for Baretta sounded a bit truncated. Now I know why. Cool rendition of this, and the little bit of light comedy is always enjoyable.

The world needs more Sammy Davis, Jrs. now, especially considering the clowns that palm themselves off as "entertainment" now.

  • this is a man with class and style and a wonderfull heart.

  • Faye Wong should do a cover of this song.

  • hes so gud :D

  • I have a question that I *Must* ask when It comes to performers and stuff.. Im not trying to be negative or anything so please dont think Im trying to belittle the performances of Sammy or any other artist.

Ok here it is... I have perfect pitch, and Im a musician, composer..etc.. but why is it that performers always seem to change the Key of performances at times? This performance is practically a major third lower than the actual record version.

TO me It feels like a knockoff when its (cont)

  • its not in the proper key. No disrespect to the artists. I *do* realize that long performances can wear the voice out, but this video look like the early 80's when Sammy should still be strong vocally. And I think this was 10 years before his throat cancer.

  • @Mahlercougar I have similar professional abilities - and I agree. When performers change the key, it becomes quite a 'different' song. Loses ALOT in the 'translation'. But you know why... And he sort of even said it on the stage when he said he could lay down for an hour right about now... LOL....

  • @musicom67 TRUE!! :)

  • Man I miss Sammy.

  • dude was so smooth..see how he stalled the crowd while he composed himself.

  • pure funk!

where can i find that version on vinyl or CD??? or is it just that live version with the funky wah wah and hot drums?

really amazing entertainer! RIP, and today is your day!

  • Make you wanna slap yo mamma. Lol

People still using that phrase in 2009! XD

  • Great Wah-wah guitar licks...

  • great great entertainer... actor singer.. impressionist... and I heard he learned to cook before he died.

  • i forgot dancer.. and I think he won the fastest draw in Hollywood once.

  • Sammy loved the LORD!

  • That's the 11th commandment

  • ark a chicon ah chicon shu cohn.... (imitating Baretta's parakeet.... only sammy.. : )

  • Classy Guy! They don't make entertainers like that anymore :) Thanks for posting this Vid...it's Great!

  • Ain't it the truth, well with a few exceptions. Most celebs in those days knew what side of the slice their bread was buttered on, and appreciated their fans, as well as the people behind the scenes that made them look good. Make-up people, lighting folks, sound people, and while filming TV or motion pictures, directors, producers, yes and lighting directors and all the people that were around doing their jobs. Why throw temper tantrums when you have been blessed with fame and fortune?

  • Sammy was class personified! God bless You Sammy!

  • Yes indeed; you should see some of his 'Rat Pack' stuff with Frankie & Dino & the rest of them...

  • maybe most people dont want entertainers like they were? Would there be demand, there would be such entertainers. I miss them too, but i dont see that theyre famous :/

Maybe some time our children look the entertainers of today the same way as we do with our ancestors entertainers.

Sorry for bad english if there is some :( (:

  • Tihvit, I HOPE we haven't set the bar so low that we settle for classless, talentless cretins to entertain us rather than people with REAL talent & presence. Franky, Deano, Sammy & the rest of the pack never forgot it was THEIR fans who made them who they were.

  • LEGEND.

  • wow.. u dont see this no more

  • Pure funk, brotha! Sammy rules!

  • Old memories from television. Love this.

  • Cool show, great singer-thanks for posting!

sammy was the king of kings.

  • excellent Sammy Davis jr.,

    thanks for posting Desmond!

    Have a nice day !
