why are you sad to not talk about Mike Mogis? hes right in the back rocking out as always. Had a beer with him in eugene a few years ago.... what a great group of people. Thanks for letting me bum a smoke off you mike, you are the man.
This sound ain't bad for a live venue video, I never supposed that Nora Jones ever performed with Rawlings / Welch. Thanks for putting this out there.
@joowan1 musically they are kind of overrated but his lyrics make up for it. id would say bright eyes(conor oberst) is definately in the top five of the best songwriters of right now. and gillian welch/david rawlings and norah jones would also be in that list
The dude in the white suit? Arguably the greatest songwriter of his generation, and hands down the best on stage? That would be like telling Bob Dylan to step back, so you can hear his backup singers
You guys, they're all just friends playing a song together. They're having fun. I don't think they're thinking about the performance in terms of who has or deserves the spotlight.
Not that this matters, but.... If memory serves me, this was part of the encore. GW and DR opened, NJ accompanied on 2-3 songs during the BE show. CO brought all 3 up and, in my opinion, is extremely gracious. This was the 2nd to last song and it's not a CO song. I think Voelkers nailed it....just 4 people who appreciate eachothers music. Poor MM. Left outa the conversation.
My daughter just showed me this video ... wow ... I quess that means I'm heading out to a concert with here soon, too ... hey hey my my ... rock 'n roll will never die ...
great song from a great album. But when it comes to the close harmonies that distinguishes Gillian Welch, Conor Oberst perhaps isn't the best accompanyment, vocally. Although it makes for a good live sing-a-long. Good video!
from about 8:20 onwards conor looks headless.

I have to disagree with many here, Bright Eyes is way overrated. Way better songwriters from our day out there. Gillian Welch is one of them.

i would like to believe that dylan would have the humility to step back and let the songwriter sing their own song.
the white-suited man stands out too much next to humble musicians such as jones and welch.
i have nothing against the man, but in this performance he would have contributed more as a backup singer.
