Worst phone I ever had.

Android is nice... but..

The battery (with zero phonecalls) lasts about 7-8 hours, which means that on my way back from work I am without battery...

(i've turned off gps, wifi etc... but to no avail...)

@iakovos21 my motorola flipout battery life is 30-35 h when i use it a lot and 40 h when i don't it. i got 'juice defender' and set it to 'agresive'.go to settings>aplications>runing services once in a while and kill all the runing services u don't need.turn of the internet completly when u are not using it.my battery profile is battery saver and my brightes is 40% all the time do not use auto brighets!!the most important always charge it with 4-5 hours even if it is 100% form the first hour.

I hope they soon make a new version of this phone, sort of like Samsung did with Galaxy S. Just to add these little mistake repairs like: flash, better camera, higher display resolution, and of course slightly faster CPU.

If this is your first smartphone and you're a big texter and are into all that Tweeter and Facebook stuff, it's a good choice. I have the Samsung Captivate but yet there is something about this phone that appeals to me. Plus, the price for this phone is quite reasonable for an Android phone ($79.99). Better than the Motorola Backflip, that's for sure. But if you're willing to fork over a little more cash, go for the Motorola Flipside ($99.99)

Ability to access the Internet isn't a sign of future either. Android hasn't done anything exceptional, neither Android phones look or work with inherent sophistication nor the "Open Source" has been able to pull down the prices of the Android based devices. What more, the "open" world laid down new laws (I won't call them rules):

1. Must have a Gmail account.

2. Must have a near constant access to Internet

3. Must be online even to shut down the device!

@glasseffect u don't have to have constant access to internet, however most of widgets do require connection to work properly. there is tons of applications for androids. android is way faster than symbian (which im currently using) and has much better UI. So android is far away from history as you said.

Yes there are tons of applications that need internet connection because the Android phones essentially can not do much. They simply send a query to the server, the server does the labor, and the phone displays the results. Android phone works in a Client-Server analogy. Why aren't Android phones cheap? or is Google asking for licensing fee even for that Google doc that is not even a feature of the phone but a service by Google that can be accessed on any OS and any Browser.
