  • Finzi's Romance For Strings is another example of his lyrical English style. In this case Elgar's influence is for me a little bit too much in evidence. Still, a revisitation of this piece might be rewarded by more of a bounceto the dancing rhythms. I speak purely as a dilettante however! I have the highest possible regard for your ensemble and it's a small miracle that Finzi's music is being performed in Boston in 2008! Warmest congratulations.
