  • This guy must get soooooooooo much pussy for playing a commodore 64

  • what song is a 2:00??

  • Crapophone LOL

  • 8 bit? u all minecraft fans?

  • @Artic3buster Broseph minecraft is relatively new, and 8-bit music has been popular for some time. Minecraft is nothing more than another game to briefly pull people's attentions and leave once more, another Runescape or WoW.

  • i lost a lot of time masturbating

  • clever!

  • what a square.

  • I have a C64 O_O I should like. Rewire it.

  • 2:13 s'leb suit!

  • @madmaxmagee more like Starmen

  • LIVELAVALIVE!!!

  • YEAH MICROKORG

  • I seen these guys at Classic Gaming EXPO 2010. They were awesome.

  • @stephugo647

first of all the band itself is called 8-bit weapon, not the instruments/consoles themselves.

Secondly your joke is stupid and a sign of ignorance that can only be consoled by cracking an unfunny joke.

    didn't even laugh

  • nostalgic music

  • wowww! the song at 1:31 is wickeddd i love it !!! Whats the namee mate!

  • I wish I had one of those.

  • I don't care what people say, nerds fucking rock

  • The functions on 8 bit are limited so it pushes your creativity!

  • new way of a dj

  • what's the song at 1 minute 20 seconds?

  • @basfoor the song is Bombs Away off of Vaporeware Soundtracks 2.0

  • FAVORITE MUSIC TOP 3

    1. METALCORE

    2. 8-BIT

    3. METAL

  • WHOA. Where can I get these guys' CDs?

  • @AylatheRaichu clink the info button on the video

  • wow! mega cool!

  • hellostereo,8 bit music from indonesia

  • its cooler and so much more fun to use old game sytems!!!

  • lol you don't know what an analogue synth is.

  • its both, internally there are a few places where it goes from digital to analog

and back... and of course the filter.

  • The SID chip I mean :)

  • Macbooks ARE thousands of dollars. How about you shut up, and we get Linux, for free.

  • @DarkRubySage

Clearly you've never even gone on the apple website and tried to shop. Only a fucking idiot (like you) would pay 'thousands' of dollars for a macbook.

  • OK, instead of paying a thousand dollars, why don't we just get a $400 laptop of any kind and then get Linux for free. Your choice.

  • @DarkRubySage

Get the last word in, kid. I'll pretend I care.

  • dope 8-bit from highland park

  • C64 Kicks Ass!!!!!!!!!!! Commodore Forever!

  • Henry Homesweet, Girljoy, and Unicorn Kid are the best o:

  • henry homesweet YES.

  • Different but real nice music... i like it

  • i dunno but if he looks like this still i think he needs a bit of a makeover

  • i'd so spend all my money on these gooooldies!

  • Base and drum machine, or DRUM AND BASE MACHINE? :D

  • At it's most basic form, it's a drum/bass drum set.

  • neither...its a drum and BASS machine.

  • lol

  • this shit is amazing

  • no.

however britain has henry homesweet :]

    so look him up.

  • man that's awesome

    these guys rule

  • woooooooooooooooooow

  • Yeah... One of the best choices to spread good memories... simply but... wanna be like him, nice step to return back to 90's...

  • Sweet! =D

  • Do they have 8 bit weapon in Britain?

  • no uk sucks ass

  • 8-Bit = BEST INVENTION. EVER.

  • All started with the first 8-Bit processor. :)

The APUs back then were limited, but good. Most people just built consoles with readily available chips. Glad to see that the old tunes are being revived. :)

  • @xXxBlueEyedAngelxXx Video gaming will live on!!!

  • @xXxBlueEyedAngelxXx ... But unfortunately never made it's appearance in the 2nd gen or + :(

  • I love 8-bit... Nothing else about it. One of my top 3 favorite genres of music.

  • @M5000thesdgversion I'm pretty sure 8-bit is not a genre, it's just the instruments, I mean the sounds.

  • @HarryFranz To the media it's a genre but to us it's just a new word to describe chip tunes. It's not a genre because you can make any genre you like on an 8bit computer but all 8 bit music is instantly recognisable due to the fact that the majority of sound chips on the 8 bit machines produced similar sounds. The c64 had the best drum sounds and leads and the spectrum 128k had the best square wave basslines, they were earth shattering!

  • this guy uses a microkorg, you can see it in the vid if you pay close attention

  • sid station...woot woot

  • well check the famicom game castlevania3 and lagrange point wich contains both the vrc6 and or vrc7 chip allowing for better, sometimes you hear some snes, genesis sounds including digital sound.

  • what about the 12 dead men, planning on using them for sounds ??

  • MUGEN2800, ive recently baught a Gameboy original and some other bits including a blank cartridge to put LSDJ on but i cant track down a flash card (backup device) to get the software onto the cartridge... any tips..?

  • try nonelectronics . com they have 32MB blank cartridges

  • Cheers josele21 ill give it a shot and see what i get.

  • but would they work and give you the same type of sounds like these ??

  • i use fl studio, the 3xosc lets you reproduce 8 bit sounds, also you could download VST's for it like he said, it'll be time consuming but the results will be great

  • honestly i dont understand what all that means but i would like to start making music like this .

what all would i need to make what you have ??

    in lamens terms please

  • are you planning on using it for sounds ??

  • check out samiyam he kills 8 bit shit

  • I want to see something new from them!

  • sooo jealous :P

  • Keep it g33k

  • Afx done this before xD

  • I WANT THAT!!! But I would become an uber-nerd.....

  • Who cares?!

  • NERD ROCK

  • *Goes to ebay*

  • ahhahhhahha

  • Ahhhh! 8-Bit Weapon is my hero. Saw them in concert back in 2005- they rocked! Especially with FREEZEPOP at the concert too!

  • milkytracker is cool, but there is a tracker available for win that is called "modplug tracker". if you are a beginner in tracking, use this one, its an advanced, but very easy tracker and there are lots of plugins and tutorials for it.

  • ahhhhh! this reminds me of playing my grandmas atari, those were the days!

  • You must've had the coolest grandma.

  • Kind of, she bought everythign and anything off crap like QVC and BID TV lol, every xmas!

  • The Commie 64 is nice. But nothin really beats the sound of a classic Gameboy and LSDJ.

  • no way man! imo in the sid chip is the best of the best!

  • ;) after doing a little research on the C64, I've completely fell in love with it's sound. If I could I'd build a MIDIBox-SID, but I mean, I don't have that kinda experience.

    -velo

  • hehe :)

    Combine the two :)

I do gameboy drums and ringmod with C64 PWM and filters :D

Gonna build a MIDIbox SID for more fun....right now got real 6581 C64.

And, on the topic, 8BW rocks!

  • I'll still stick to the DMG-01 and LSDJ. Originality is a must to compose in it, and I love it's tone far more.

  • what kind of key boy is that at 130 secs .

i know what the top one is but whats the middle one . he has so much damn stuff on it you cant tell

  • the top one is a Korg Microkorg...

awesome gear hey, bought one not long ago. Cheap too

  • My bad...I thought it was an instrument that could be used with Cubase. Now I see that it is actually a standalone tracker. Sorry about the confusion!

  • did you ever figure out weather it can be used in cubase or protoold ( i dont think regular you tubers would know what vst is )) lol

  • You might be able to use something like Rewire to connect it to either of the programs. I have done that with FLStudio and that worked fine. But that is a more advanced "tracker".

  • do you mean rewire is a more advanced tracker ??

what were you referring to pippin ??

  • Can't you unse it as a vst instrument?

  • it still wouldnt work as a vst... even if it could be hooked up 2 cubase/nuendo/pro tools/logic... cos its not virtual LOLZ

  • *rofl* I was not referring to the analogue synthesizers! Apparently you can get it digital-style...yeah baby, yeah *imitating Austin Powers*.

  • Not that I know of, but this guy named stormblast0891 has six videos or so. In his videos you can see him creating some stuff, so I think it's helpful.

  • MilkyTracker's own site has documentation on the program.

  • download milkytracker, its free

  • does any one know where i can get someone that can make me one of these .. please let me know

  • i love the "we needed a name to set us apart from other 8bit musicians" and the outcome was "8bit weapon"...the most generic name out there lol besides like gameBOY.

  • Why nothing about ZX Spectrum & AY-3-8910?

  • CHIPTUNE ROCKS !!!!

Man i love the Keygen themes !!!

  • well, kegen are low quality crap!8 Bit Weapon has some High quality tracks, because they actually use hardware not software in keygen music's case.

  • Most keygen chips are recycled 90's amiga-tracker files....Amiga's soundchip classifies as a chip-music device :)

  • i allway,s tout that annalogue sound was real and digital sound was virtual but it,s visa versa.

but for what i know is, even analogue soundchannels require a dac converter,

by digital soundchannels the sound will be after the proccess converted into analogue.

but why is fm sound limmited will digital sound is universal?

how they could generate a digital soundchannel out of the atari,s analogue soundchip??????? and visa versa??

    thanks!!!!!

  • 1+1=2

  • LIES!!

  • Now who messed with the audio bitrate of this video? Shame on you!!! Kulturbanause du! XD

  • i want him to play at my wedding

  • ma ma... ma quello è il mio paradiso!

  • Wow... The movie goes by so slow when you're slightly interested...

  • I wish there were synths for my pc keyboard that were free lol. That's so cool.

  • Propellerheads Reason can do it easier

  • Propellerheads Reason could not emulate the true chip sound...I dare you to try! lol

  • just sample :P

but yeah you are right. The closest i can get is either sampling or using the Screams digital distortion.

Logic also kinda does it with the bit crusher but it still never sounds as cold and digital as the original C64 and NES synths.

  • no, just use 1 subtractor and change its oscilation types. sounds like real 8-bit sound. (can emulate 16-bit FM too). not hard to do.

  • it's all digital. digital do digital. it's true that reason cannot emulate analogic synthesizers. but analogic doesn't use bits. 8-bit = digital.

  • the C64 SID Chip 6508 and 8580 are analog sound chips, not digital.

  • with Subtractor.

  • I will mess with the subtractor more, I havent done a lot with it cuase i tend to use the malstrom and the nn-xt (i dont do 8-bit music, but i have played with the idea) is the distortion kinda a wrong way to go?

  • That's pretty cool. I know Ferry Corsten used alot of these 8 bit style instruments on LEF.

  • A Seth Sternberger infommercial...very kool!!!

  • Atari 2600 sucks..i mean, yeah! 8 bit weapon!

  • I lol'd

  • I LOVE 8BIT SOUND

  • "Micromusic" ? WTF? XD Chiptune? Bitpop?

  • Reminded me of those days in 80's.I remember that C64 keyboard addons.

  • Seth! You are so much more beautiful in person.

  • Very unfortunately, the music I'm hearing here is far below anything ever composed for any of the good 8-bit games. If their songs were of the same quality as the songs from say, Castlevania or Megaman series, then I would buy all of their albums PRONTO. But they seem to just be putting mediocre music on crappy instruments, as opposed to excellent music on crappy... you get the idea.

  • Not bad, I've been to his site but he's 1 year late for me. I've been listening to this kind of usic way back in 2001 in japan. Now its more know as Shibuya-kei. Check it out!

  • bullshit, this is coming way too popular.

  • yea i love stacey

  • I still prefer traditional means over the physical manifestation this guy makes use of.

  • i love the first album confidential! is she on there bc i think thats the best one

  • 8-bit MUZIEK u gotta love it

  • wow i wish i was famous

  • nice. =)

  • I give all my support to all those young true punkies.

And some of them are brilliant musicians also!

  • allright seth!

    you are really awesome live.

IGN live and Nintendo punks at knitting factory.

i still miss stacey though... =(

wow, thats an awesome looking gameboy!

    where'd ya get that!?

  • yeah it had a better realistic feel with stacey on drums...
