Thanks grez, the 8800GT is a little stronger since it has 112 shader processors vs mine 95 shader processors on the 8800m GTX. However I have two 8800m GTX in SLI which yields 192 shader processors when SLI fully works out.

It's close, but it is not the same. It's more along the line of an 8800 GTS - 96 shaders and 500/1250/800 (Core/Shader/Memory) clocks. It does overclock nicely, and of course, this machine has TWO 8800m GTX cards in SLi, so the performance is justified.

No it won´t be able to run Crysis at Very High DX10 at 1920x1200. The GTX 280m is no better than the older 8800GTX desktop GPU.

You can however EASILY play Crysis at Very High at lower resolutions like 1280x900.

You'd get a good 30 FPS.

i cant believe that 8800m gtx in SLI doesnt handle crysis on all very high :(

does anyone know anything about the new GTX 280m? will two of those in SLI be able to run crysis in its full glory?

I have wondered if your graphics card can run crysis with all on very high. Is that possible? cause' im buying the Dell XPS M1730, and i wan't to play crysis, but i don't know if the less cheap with a 8800m GTX SLI can run crysis with everything on very high?

no, it won't, I have that version... If you really want to run crysis on very high and expect a frame rate beyond 30fps, don't even think about using a laptop at all

Yep most games on max. Crysis I have tweaked to look very high of course with smooth framerates. Same with Crysis Warhead.

I'm planning on getting this machine, however with a core 2 duo extreme 2.8 ghz processor, so thanks for making this video as its been a real help in showing the true capabilities of the M1730

He he yeah, well I do have Vista 64 too so no trouble there utilizing 4GB if I wan to.

I have around 25-45 fps running this. 25 fps depending if there is lots of firefight on the screen, i.e lots of enemies at once along with explosions. However I tweaked the game a little and now it runs at a minimum of 30 fps instead.
