You could say that I should sing the sentences "Grow a little stronger" and "Place for beginning" a half tone higher if I follow the Jimmy Ruffin version. In that way, I follow the Colin Blunstone version, but he doesn´t sing the 3rd verse of this song.
I think that vocal tips can be difficult to explain just by typing. And you only have 500 characters to explain it (unless you use more than one reaction ;-) ).
