Ok to make something clear... I worked on this tower since I am a rigger in Montreal. There really was a plane crash and the little plane got stuck in the top area of the tower. There we had to destroy it. It sucked since we put so many weeks into building this tower. Oh well, the destruction was fun to watch lol

@OneStudPuppy you can see the plane at 0:26. It's caught up in the tower tail-down/nose-up. As the tower starts to fall, you can see the plane. The nose-end of the plane falls but the tail appears to be still caught in the tower. It doesn't fall free of the tower as the tower falls.
Wow... I wonder how often planes run into these things? I imagine it happens more in the daytime then at night, as it's hard to miss those beacon lights at night.

@jinglypacoberry You'd be surprised how hard some of these objects are to spot from the air. That said, if the pilot had done his pre flight correctly he'd not have flown at an altitude that would get him anywhere near this, or any other structure.

The tower is huge. Much larger than it looks. It is higher than the World Trade Center towers were. Nearly a quarter mile high. It is also wide. The wingspan on the aircraft is approx 40 feet (approx 12 meters) and the tower is again half that wider near the top (approx 20 meters). You can see the aircraft very near the end of the video. The size becomes obvious.

I live around a bunch of TV Towers. One night I had a dream of going in a tv tower and climbing it. It was big enough that it had stairs in it, but if there was to much motion while climbing the tower, it could collapse. When I was climbing it, I made to much motion and the tower collapse. I survived and was very shocked. The dream was neat, but yet some what scary. I would love to share my other TV Tower dreams.

No because they were unable to take him down it was too dangerous because when the plane crashed, the tower moved a bit at the base so it was too risky to climb the tower and take the guy down

I find it highly convenient that so many cameras were trained on the tower when the plane "just happened" to crash into it making it collapse. I bet this was really a controlled demolition. And if the guy was really "wedged" in there, why would they demolish the tower to get him down? Wouldn't that KILL HIM?!!! Obviously, this was an accident, and he was killed on impact, that's why the tower collapsed on impact. Still, a lot of cameras happened to be shooting it. Conspiracy? I DON'T THINK SO!

Ok, I'm from Quebec, I remember seeing this whole thing on TV news.
1- A plane crashed into the tower
2- The dude in the plane died
3- They needed to recover the body and the they could not take the risk of keeping that tower standing. It may have been damaged.
4- Controlled demolition of the tower

I live around a bunch of TV Towers. One night I had a dream of going in a tv tower and climbing it. It was big enough that it had stairs in it, but if there was to much motion while climbing the tower, it could collapse. When I was climbing it, I made to much motion and the tower collapse. I survived and was very shocked. The dream was neat, but yet some what scary. I would love to share my other TV Tower dreams.

You're babbling in anal speak again. What tower in Iowa? Give some specifics like where and when.Did you do what I suggested and Google 'Gilbert Paquette Cessna' ?? There are numerous news stories, there's photos, there's video. Watch closely at 28-29 seconds. You can see the plane come loose as the tower nears the bottom. How much proof do you need? The plane didn't make the tower fall over. It was impossible to recover the pilot's body and it was brought down intentionally a week later.

In April of 2001, in Mont-Carmel, Quebec,Canada, a small plane crashed into a 1200 foot tower. The plane and its pilot remained wedged in the tower (the pilot died on impact) and the tower was taken down one week later with controlled explosions. This was the only way to get the plane down as the tower was no longer stable due to the impact.

It happened 4 or 5 years ago at N.D. du Mont Carmel near Three Rivers they had to crash down the tower with dynamite. It was rebuilt again same height over 1000 feet.
